  • Very similar to parkour. Not sure about his landings from high drops though, they look like they could be very bad for the knees. Apart from that, many of the movements are similar, altohugh not identical, to what an experienced traceur may do to surpass the same obstacles.

Not surprising, I've heard it said a few times that parkour is a new name for something people have always done. Of course it also goes a little beyond that by introducing a modern training system.

  • no way much better background here

  • Just like parkour

  • you yo

  • ...Parkour

  • Those kicks starting at 1:07 are CRAZY!!

  • @Rhuarc nah all you have to do is hold low kick for 4 seconds and release if I remember correctly.

  • @Rhuarc nah I'm pretty sure all you have to do is hold low kick for 4 seconds and then release. At that range you are better off just throwing a fireball.

  • @FatesDecision LOL!!

  • @Rhuarc

it was edited. the original footage wasn't that fast.

  • some good art

  • whats the song?

  • 2:13 LIU KANG!! WINS

  • Can anybody tell me which of these movements dismissed gravity or mass conservation, or can not be explained by middle-school physics?

  • @wintercocooo nothing no one claims that. It was a display of exceptionally impressive physicality and mental focus

  • @gunfighter964 then "light-body" is totally nonsense

  • @wintercocooo pretty sure it was a metaphore there buddy. or a misunderstanding of simple exercise biology

  • @wintercocooo check out my youtube page and watch the video about 'Kan' at the end there are photos of a 'Light-body' meditation

  • Basically a mix of martialarts, parkour, and freerunning?

  • @cmoun5

? qing gong? not exactly, qing gong is internal energy distribution that is shown in external movements, jumping falling running etc. and most martial schools has their own qing gong techniques, wudang has one shaolin has one and so on.

qing gong surpasses parkour and free running, in the sense that it doesn't have any limited applications

and the martial arts demonstrated are Wudang Wu Kung

  • @usernameisapain Sometimes people might over mystify kung fu or martial arts. Parkour and Free running are younger arts. Newer. Doesn't make them inferior. Just makes them younger. Applications depend on the practitioner.

  • @Hospitaller I don't disagree with you, I'm just saying that qing gong is so much more than simple free running

  • @usernameisapain Have you practiced parkour? I haven't, so I'm not an authority. I'm just wondering... how can you be so sure that Parkour isn't just qing gong with another name?

  • @Hospitaller I explained that in my first post,

  • @Hospitaller I've been practicing parkour for around 3 years now, and I have seen much more impressive things in terms of movement. That makes sense, because we train strictly for mobility, whereas this is a fighting style that happens to add some movement aspects. I'd say this guy is about as good at climbing as I would be if I trained some extraneous kung-fu movements with my parkour. The point is, however much he's moving, his focus IS on fighting. IMO it's pointless to compare the two.

  • @HopscotchPK

Qigong I already explained, nevertheless all martial arts have light body skills, and those are barely shown in this video, the light body skills(Qing Gong) are utilized with the help of qigong, most of the movements in this video have nothing to do with Qing Gong, I'm not looking down on parkour, I'm saying though that to utilize Qing Gong you have to know some Qigong, and qigong "doesn't have any limited applications"

  • @usernameisapain Don't compare a martial art with a movement art and then say one is superior than the other. Is like saying writing is better than acting.

  • @AlexLococo Qing Gong is a movement art utilized with the help of qigong, and qigong don't have any limitations to how it is applied, I never proclaimed that parkour, in the sense of moving was worse, I did say that in an overall perspective of pliability parkour is inferior, cause it is solely of focus on movement.

it seems though that people misunderstand my comment or simply don't bother reading it properly ><

  • @usernameisapain I don't understand, I thought that qing gong was already a martial art based on movement.

  • 飞檐走壁!!>V<

  • any one knows whats the name of the theme song?

  • Respect!!!!!

  • widens our eyesight that martial art is really a comprehensive art which doesn't only comprise cruel fight to death, but also qinggong, flying art, & beauty; not only grounding the opponent & hitting, elbowing him to hurts & death ! Sifu, beware, my heart goes out to you when u 've free fall ! Take care !

  • he climbs like a cat, barely touches the wall

  • makes me wanna shed a tear

  • hes fast......more than fast

    god like speed

  • 1:10 holy shit!

  • lol, this takes so much internal control.. not everything is visible bud.

  • How did you become so naive?

  • This is truly great physical display. I just don't see how it's internal taoist kung fu. There's nothing internal in this at all.

  • It's a demonstration, he has plenty of videos demonstrating Taiji and Bagua

  • @cioccolatosexy The internal aspect comes from the mental focus required to perform such acrobatics. Ask any pro athlete about the mental aspects of their game and they'll tell you. Internal arts are practiced heavily so that the mental focus necessary for extraordinary feats becomes second nature so that these feat can be performed at a moments notice.

  • @FURognar

Mental focus and determination are important of course. But what you are describing is found in all martial arts, both internal and external. This is not internal martial arts. That is a fact.
