Question... what kind of shocks do you run on that? Right now my '95 XJ Country has Bilstein 5100s, but they're showing some wear after hard mudding. Been looking to buy a new set... recommendations?
i have a 90 jeep Cherokee, with just back lockers, an go to more places then most people with out a problem. have 160k miles, change the oil every 4k miles, with some lucus. and i can go any were. i have 33's on it with new shocks in frount and new le springs in back. JEEPS FOR EVER.
I have an '87 Comanche, 2.5L I-4, 4-Standard, it's only 2WD but I love that little truck. I've gone through some pretty good trails with it and it's done considerably well for being 2WD.
LOL, i wrote that back when my cherokee was running, since i've sold it because it broke down and i couldn't pay for it, something with the trans. I hope to get another one in a week or two, for now i'm just wheelin in my 07 JK Wrangler 2 Door stock, not as awesome but its a good jeep! as are most!
does anyone know if a 6cyl 4x4 5spd cherokee implies that it is manual transmission because i have seen 4x4 automatic cherokees or manual transmission 4cyl cherokees but never have seen a manual 4x4 6cyl cherokee-all three factors combined
I had a 93' Jeep cherokee 2 door 4x4 5 speed 4.0 that I beat the shit out of... like I bought it from a friend who hit a ice patch and went into a telephone post... Check out my vids if you want.
you cant have a 4spd auto buddy any vehicle that says 5spd is a standard there are only a handfulll of auto's that are 5spd's but in general when you say 5spd you are impieing its a standard.
hey volder. Yes you can do 30" 9.50" with very little rub depending on brand of tire while turning sharply. you can do 31s to with a 2 inch budget lift also on the stock rims you just may need wheel spacers to avoid the turn rub. good luck man
i actually built a mount for it that attaches between the body and the tail gate and sticks out the side to attach an antenna. if you private message me your email ill send you some photos if you wanted to make one.
i spent $350 on a 1988 jeep cherokke with only 195,000 miles and it ran great when i bought it. it also came with a 3" lift and aftermarket lower control arms, so i'd say it was a good deal.
How many miles does your jeep have on it im looking at buying a jeep to build just for an offroad vehicle and im hesitant because allot of the cheap cherokees are 150,000 to 200,000 miles.
yeah, my 89 has over 200 k and still runs great. how much u think i could get for it? im thinking about 2500, as it is in mint condition. it is stock though
it's fine. cherokee's have the 4.0 strait 6, witch was a great engine, and if taken good care of should last 300,000 easily. if u can get a good deal on one with 150,000 i would do it in a heart beat. my 89 has 208,000 and still runs great.
I got a custom 3.5/4 inch lift. 3.5 inch Rubicon Express springs up front, sway bar off, OME shocks and 3/4" spacers on top of the springs to compensate for the 4 inches in the back because I have Rusty's Leaf Spring packs for the back also 3.5 inches. Offroad lights, detroit lockers. The whole interior is rubberized lining with high lift jack in the back. I have 31 10/50 15 bfg all terrains and I would HIGHLY recommend those! They are great for the road, trails, mud, sand, rocks. ANYTHING
Those look like some fun little trails. I am the proud owner of a 1987 Comanche [MJ], I'm running 30x9.50R15LT's without any lift. I'm hoping to get some video shots of my truck up on here real soon.
I still get 15-20 mpg on mine with 3" lift 31x10.5 BFG all terrains. I would recommend getting 30x9.5 tires though since they wont rub as much. My front fender flares both got knocked off, and the tires jam up into the wheel well pretty good and before it didn't harldy at all
front coil spacers were about 30 bucks. 4 shocks were about 40 bucks each, had to get longer ones, and i put 2 inch lift blocks in the back cut form mechanical square tubing i got for free from a machine shop.
in the video its a 2inch lift with trimmed fenders. the lift cost about 30 bucks caue i made it myself. i used 3inch lift procomp shocks though that were about $30 a piece. now i have a locker and 3inch procomp lift
Everyone says that on every 4x4 video. He's having fun without them, and he's getting along fine without them. It's getting old to read "get diffffflockssss OMG FUCK!" on every freakin' video.
31x10.50 kumho m/t's rock crawler rims. lockrite locker in the rear. 3 inch lift (installed after video) procomp es9000 shocks. and some other random stuff
Still love it
