Congrats on your new puppy! This was quite a while ago, so hard to remember, but I was probably using TINY bits of either hotdog or cheese. I have used both, and tend to mix it up a bit to keep them excited. For the hotdogs, if you cut them into little pieces and the microwave them, it makes them less slimy. Pat the extra oil off with a paper towel. Cooked chicken works excellent as well. Just be sure to keep them really small. At such a young age, their digestion is easily upset. Good luck!
