  • @AnakhaSilver ty, now you've convinced me that james has completly fucking lost it. mel gibson aint got shit on him

  • ahh bud light lol

  • Is anyone else reminded of 'Pet Cemetery'?

  • @yamakagesama *raises hand*

  • this and the maria endings to me are the worst

  • i played this one when I was 11... now that i watch this... now i know why im like the way i am hhahaha

  • Eehhmmm... WHat the hell just happened?

  • @ivegot2words4ya

I think James discovered some "bring the dead back to life" thing the Order left behind and dug up Mary's grave. That's just my theory of what he meant.

  • @altermarvin21 According to the novels, her body was in the trunk of his car the entire time.

  • @AnakhaSilver That's just a theory that exploded throughout fans online and is now such a popular belief that people mistaken it for a fact. There is no real evidence, at all, that Mary is in the car.

  • @GhenryPerez ...It's in the novels. It is literally written in the novels, which are expanded canon.

  • This ending is by far the saddest imo. It's quite open what happens, but one can clearly see, that James just went full retard.

  • 1:08 Ahhhhhhhhhh..... Berry.

  • ...just wish her back with the dragonballs... douchebag!!!!!!!

  • I hated this ending. I was hoping it would actually show her come back to life, and then she would kill him back or something. Not just him rowing to an island.

  • @INeverWanted2010

    fuck same here m8 .

  • @INeverWanted2010 That's the point of Silent Hill. None of the endings just hold your hand and tell you everything, just like the entire game itself. It's up to the player to decide what happens to James, Mary, Maria, Angela, and Laura in the game's endings. Maybe the ritual worked, maybe it didn't. If she came back, maybe she was normal with no catches, or maybe she was in the form of a monster. Who knows? You decide, the game isn't about to hold your hand like a sheep.

  • @Naroon201 I didn't want it to "hold my hand", I just wanted a little more closure for James and Mary. Lol

  • He was going to a small island (from what i can tell) to preform a dark ritual to resurrect mary, but thats only from what i could tell =/

  • @NekoFreako84

What's he gonna do... perform deadly acupuncture on a couple of colossi to bring her back?

  • @sivalisica rofl! referencing!!!

  • I dont get this ending

  • Hey James, about that whole "bringing her back to life thing"...why dont you ask the Elric brothers how well that works out for you?

  • ...Apparently, James has never read the stories of H.P. Lovecraft...or else he would have known about the very hefty price he's about to pay for bargaining with the Old Ones...

  • what "article" about Silent Hill are you talking about? Link?

  • I'm sticking to the "In Water" ending because though yes, I would want to bring someone I love back to life if they died, Death is Death. Everyone dies eventually. If your loved one dies before you, you shouldn't bring them back if they were ready to die. I'm not saying that means they WANT to die, but if they're prepared for death... Don't bring back. Instead, live for them. Do what you think they would have wanted for you, and be happy. The past is the past and it can't be changed.

  • @WildHorsez101 Mary also said she didn't want to die, so she wasn't fully ready to die.

  • @T3hEm0J0k3r Just because she didn't want to didn't mean she wasn't prepared to. If you don't want to do something, does that mean you're not ready to?

  • @WildHorsez101

While we can't bring them back, for some reason we always try. Some of us can't accept the fact that life came full circle so we foolishly try to make them come back. Have I done it? No, touching a drippy rotting corpse doesn't work for me, but you get the point. As for "In Water" being the canon, most of the games point to this ending since in 4 James' dad said that James went with his girlfriend (Maria) to Silent Hill. This would mean that this would be the second time.

  • @WildHorsez101 In Water, he drives his car into the water with Mary in it, killing himself.

  • Meanwhile in Silent Hill.

  • There's a lot of good articles

about some very interesting interpretations of this game

i read an article on Silent Hill 2

    that thoroughly describes Angela

    and explains her full story

    look 'em up, good stuff,

  • Briniging someone you love back to life is creepy? How? Tell me something, if you lost a loved one, wouldn't you want them back in your life? This page seems like it is filled with kids, who don't understand the concept of lonliness, love, and sacrifice.

  • What a beautiful ending. It shows that James attatchment to his wife, goes beyond obsession, and anything wordly. And this is the canon ending, because if anyone has played SH4, they would know what I am talking about.

  • @girlgamer1984

First: Konami has said the "in water" ending is the canon ending, they even released a book of Silent Hill 2 featuring this ending

Second: Bringing someone back from the dead doesn't work out,

    See "Full-Metal Alchemist"

  • @ozzyblazer16 I have always assumed the best ending to be the canon ending, as the bet endings in SH games are always the canon ones. I haven't heard about it myself, so I can't be sure about it.

I have seen FMA, but that is your opinion. Maybe you don't feel that strongly about death.

    Ciao

  • @Zodicz apparently *not* being evil seems pretty challenging fro him from that description ;)

  • I have to agree with this ending. Why mourn over something lost when you can just bring them back and live happily ever after?

  • I think everyone who don't understand James is so stupid.I very love this game and I think James doesn't mad he just felt the hopeless.I think this game have the best story ever in the games story. It's true it's short but very nice.Konami and James All respect to them.

  • you can't live without her? Then maybe you shouldn't have killed her in the first place creep!

  • And he said he wasn't crazy. Oh, James. :3

  • That ending is fuckin bullshit.

  • nice boat

  • That ending is fuckin epic.

  • Can you reach the island in the game? Even if you cant see your position while in the boat?

  • @762full Only with hacks but it's really just a small island with a 2D church on it.

  • I figured it out...this is the true canon ending. Remember the Siam from Homecoming? Looks like James isn't very good with magic.

  • @NocturnalPyro

Konami released a book that features

the "in water" ending as the canon ending,

  • @ozzyblazer16 It doesn't matter. They had to pick one ending to put in the book and they picked In Water. There's too much evidence in later games of Rebirth having happened so I'm standing by it.

  • stooped old gods give him the power of 100 suns!!!!!

  • @Zodicz he cant FUCKING see a keyhole right next a jukebox with LIGHT coming out of it

  • i got this ending, and I was like wow I need to stop smoking crack or smoke more

  • so u kill your wife, forget about it, then try to bring her back to life?!? make up your mind already!!!

  • @Zodicz He can't open refrigerators.

    LOL XD

  • its official.........

    james has lost it.

    0_0

  • @MrJkid2010 What was your first clue?

    LOL XD

  • @lonelysith66 what clue? xD h just plain ass insane ._.

  • @MrJkid2010

i think he lost it when he went to silent hill after reading a letter from his dead wife

in the beginning of the game xD

  • @thehigherdrake yeah but hes more openly insane this time LOL

  • @Zodicz It's not that he doesn't remember killing his wife, he just doesn't like thinking about it.

Then again, he may have just blocked it from his mind to avoid remembering it. However the feeling of nagging guilt is still there.

I love Silent Hill for the sheer fact that it's entirely open to interpretation! :)

  • @Zodicz ,this is only if James couldn't deal with facts in the end.

Terribly sad ending if it woulda happened!lol

  • despite the silent hill serires being the most unbearable of puzzle games, its story's are just dam right incredible i luv luv luv luv em....cept homecoming...that should be destroyed

  • In water is the best...the game is centered around the fact that James can't let go of Mary at all...he doesn't believe she is truly dead until he sees the proof that he killed her...I think he went to Silent Hill because he had a death wish...the cannon ending is In Water.

  • I know that love makes you do crazy things, but this... this ending here is just creepy. James couldn't accept his wife's death and attempts to bring her back from the dead. Too bad that they don't show the actual performance of James trying to bring Mary back to life.

  • It seems that "in water" ending is the best out of all.

Maria ending is just punishment cycles rewinded.

Rebirth and Leave ending doesn't make any sense at all.

  • @backpain100 Rebirth he is bringing Mary back to life with the cult magic and Leave is the best because Mary forgives him and he moves on with his life.

  • What is that mass in the water at the end?

  • does he bring back to life in a normal way or does she probably turn into a monster?????

  • he probably sets chaos into SH hill with monsters and demons and such yet again... probably a monster wife :/

  • james is really creepy

(well not to mention the fact he lost his wife again, ummm maria died, and he's trapped inside a town named silent hill, im pretty sure he still has the kid, and well ya sucks for james!)

    but still he's creepy! :3

  • Row row row your boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily merrily life (yours in silent hill at least) is but a dream.

  • james is going carzy on this ending O.o

  • this looks necrophiliac ahahaha xd

  • I knew silent hill was ruled by Cthulu!!!

  • I'm on a boat and, it's goin' fast and...

This was the weirdest ending. Probably weirder than the Dog ending. XD (Though it was my favorite.)

  • LITTLE MAN IN BOAT!

I loe how this game is all about sexual imagery.

  • james is seriously creeping me out in this...

  • @ilovefall08 he got possesed by Lord Pedo Bear

  • Humm... sorry if this sounds stupid but can someone explain this ending to me please? I don't get it. O_o

  • James has gone mad with the loss of his wife you can pick up certain items in the game that can convence james to try to ressurect mary

  • Oh so that's what the items are for... Wow i always thought that James was a bit crazy doing everything hi did but wow O_o... Thanks for explaining. :D

  • can someone say pet semetery

  • Pet Cemetery.

that's not going to end well....

  • @Warlady21 actually the movie spelled cemetery wrong because it was made by kids and it was an Indian burial site so just watch the movie and youll get it

  • I know. I was saying it cause he asked if someone would

  • Yeah this ending has this creepy 'Pet Cemetary' type vibe to it that just plain creeps me out.

This is probably my least favorite ending.

  • @MrJDog2424 i can :)

  • thank you

  • @MrJDog2424 OMG. I was just going to say the same thing. Like James.. ever heard of Stephen King? You know this kinda shit doesn't turn out well.

  • how many silent hill 2 endings are there jesus

  • I think 6.

  • 7 endings:

    In water ending

    Leave ending

    Maria ending

    Rebirth ending

    UFO ending

    Dog ending

    Born from a wish ending

  • 4 in the original version, 5 in the director's cut/greastest hits version

  • fuck yeah! necromancy :D

  • Pyramid head is James' subconcious. He needs Pyramid head for physical punishment. Later on he feels satisfied with his punishment and takes on two Pyramid heads(One's helmet is red for new blood, the other brown for old blood) Once the two realize he's not going to succumb to them, they impale themselves with their spears. The other Dudes(The butcher in SH3, the boogeyman in SH home coming) They are just there because you can't have a SH game without them

  • 9sicmaggot9 i thought the butcher was in origins? the guy in silent hill 3 was called valtiel. he sports the same gear as PH minus the helmet and great knife. his role is different too. hes like the attendant of god, and he has something to do with the shifts between the real world and the otherworld.

  • how do u get this ending? by the way how do i get the dog key?

  • II think the leave ending could be the cannon one because Mary perdonned James and that could had made James continue with his life and leave on but I think there`s more chances that the in water ending where James kills himself could have been the real one because after all in Silent hill 4 It is stated that James dissapeared after he went to Silnt Hill.

  • It's most likely the in water ending is the cannon one. In Silent Hill 3, Douglas said that he was looking for a missing man at Silent Hill. I'm pretty sure that was James, and he disapered because he killed himself

  • sure. he drowned and no one found his body. that still makes sense. so it could be either the "Leave" ending, the "In Water" ending, or the "Maria" ending.

  • they said all endings are canon, its depends on the player to decide what he or she thinks which is true

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think he's dead? When Pyramid Head knocked him down he died that's why he was so injured?

  • Pyramid head is a creation of james' mind. So naturally he'd hold the great knife like Pyramid head because they are the same person.

Pyramid head represents james' need for physical punishment and sexual tension.

  • so the giant sword is him *ahem* overcompensating? but y is it called the rebirth ending then? in homecoming the main character was turned into a pyramid head, y not james?

  • In this ending James is trying to bring back his dead wife from the dead. I think that the great knife is just intimidating but if you see it as over compensating then that's what you think. As for Homecoming, Even though it looks EXACTLY like pyramid head and all that jazz its not. It looks like PH because he's a fan favorite. In Homecoming he's called the 'boogeyman'. Homecoming is also not written by the same people who wrote SH2. James didn't become PH because he IS PH in a sense.

  • In the game he realized that PH is just a physical representation of his Guilt towards killing his wife Mary. When he realizes he doesn't need PH anymore because he's come to terms with what he did, PH kills himself (or rather themselves you fight two of them at the end of SH2. after the fight they impale themselves on their spears and give you the final object you need to beat the game.)

  • because the pyramid head in homecoming isnt pyramid head. hes the boogeyman. this is different in the sense that the boogeyman is a representation of everyone in sheperds glen.

  • I'm not sure if this is the real ending or not.

On one hand, "Leave" Could be the real ending; he's come to terms with what happened and is ready to live his life.

On the other hand, he could still be heartbroken over her death, and the events that happened in Silent Hill could have been real and not just something that only he was experiencing.

It's very confusing, but it has been hinted at that this ending is the correct one.

  • was that impliyng that james now lives in silent hill?

  • I don't understand this ending at all. Can someone explain?

  • to get that ending you have to collect severeal ritualistic items like a goblet and a book of eternity or summat, so assumsedly he's going to try and resurrect her at that church

  • Are the items hard to find?

  • qué le pasó?

  • he must have pretty bad brain damage or is on some very good shit

  • Why not both? XD But, no really it is not sure what real ending there is to this game. Because he was never mentioned again, I think, in any other game of his whereabouts. So yeah you can say he is on good shit or has a sever head trauma, one that he will never return, but he found out the truth he repressed and his true nature of his is finally revealed to him.

  • some GEWD shit!!!

  • Dammit James, didn't the Evil Dead movies teach you ANYTHING! Gosh!

  • lol.

    word Lady 162.

Ash and James need to have a sit down to discuss all the pain theyve gone thru.

Yaknow what would be awesome? an Evil Dead IV with Bruce Campbell for all the Bruce Campbell fans out there.

  • Actually, I think they already came out with that in video game form. "Evil Dead: Regeneration" I believe. (Can't believe I didn't buy it yet! 80)

Actually, there ARE rumors of an up-an-coming sequel!

  • @Lady162 Yeah, really!

If he comes back with a chainsaw for a hand, I'm leaving!

    LOL XD

  • He can't walk on water. That's why he has a boat

  • James is by far the best Silent Hill Character!!

  • Exactly, he is reaching the realms of Gordon Freemanness

  • yes he is

  • i wish they would show the ritual

  • thanks for telling!

  • this ending is Awesome, shows James has lost his final marble lol

  • Okay, this could probably be the real ending as it does tie up to Silent Hill 1, 3 and 4 when he talked about the "old gods" Valtiel, Metatron and Samael...

He's probably been fucking her corpse forever, that's why he never came back in SH4. XD

  • haha those are actual biblical names. kinda wierd that i know this since im an agnostic athiest lawlz!

  • being agnostic and being atheist are 2 different beliefs...

  • nah, the canonical ending was found to be the In Water one. there was a newspaper article in SH4 that proves it. idk the details cus i didnt play 4.

  • Actually it only stated that they disappeared, never returned. I don't that it ever said they found two bodies in the water.

  • It says they disapeared, thats probly what leada people to beleive it was canon since it was the only ending where James dies.

  • What i dont really understand?

  • This won't literally be him reviving Mary, as Mary is dead (assumably in the trunk of his car at the beginning). Most of SH2 is projections of James' mind, and this ending is him living with the memory of Mary and not fully accepting he killed her and that she's gone forever. He will most probably wander the foggy silent hill until he comes to terms with this.

  • then who are the old gods?

  • Who the old gods how isn't relevant to my explanation is it? And don't take that the wrong way, im genuinely asking.

  • *Are

  • Cthulhu!

  • That was my sentiment exactly, 'Old Ones', someone's channeling a lot of H.P. Lovecraft with that dialogue.

  • Why rebirth?

  • He is planning to revive Mary.

  • how i can get this ending?

  • you have to collect all 4 of the special items;

1 vail (cant remeber) its in the apartment

    1 book outside texon gas

2 other things a cant remember

  • 1 You need white crism located in the kitchen in blue creek apartment counter room where the (puzzle game is) coins i think,

2 Book of lost memories outside of texon gas (after meeting Maria),

3 Obsidian goblet located in historical society. The glass box before you are going down the long stairway down.

4 Crimson Ceremony, is located in the Reading Room after watching the tape Hope you find them P.S you are gonna need all the 4 items when you defeat the boss Maria/ Mary? ;D

  • although this ending is sad and not happy. its still awesome.

who knows maybe he did bring her back to life? I mean look how supernatural the first Silent Hill was.....

i dont think the devolpers want to fill these questions and plotholes completely. you know.....more money for them.

  • Wait a minute!

James restarted the cult for SH3!

    O_o!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @AshleyTisdaleLover07 Thanks, James!

    O_o

  • who are these god every one keep talkin bout in the game?

  • Usually when people refer to "The Old Gods" they are speaking of the old Greek and Roman pagan Gods that were replaced by Christianity. But in this case, I'm not sure if he is refering to those Gods, or some other mythology specific to the story of Silent Hill. There are many spiritual undertones (and sometimes overtones) to Silent Hill.

  • The gods that the people of Silent Hill used to worship long ago.

  • old gods are the old gods...every demonic thing of silent hill comes from them, i dunno who're they but they're mentioned in every game

  • Well, no, actually, the "demonic things" in Silent Hill are created by the human characters. The Gods don't do anything, and probably don't actually exist.

  • I don't get what's happenig o _ o

  • He's attempting to bring his dead wife back to life using three items and a ritual.

  • wich three items were they? just curious

  • which will not really bring you what you want... you might get what you want, but there,s always a satanic surprise as proven by walter

  • They are the stuff you gather in SH1. The ritual of 21 sacraments does not bringback the dead. It purifies them or something. And satan has nothing to do with this mythos.

  • by satanic i mean a big surprise, but it isn't very good but bad....and quite disturbing. i used satan [metaphor] because it carries more weight to my comment[i think] because i can't think of any more words to disturb the results of the ritual. question. if it doesn't bring back the dead, what does it REALLY do? i got BAD feeling on this one.... one more Q. you say it purifies the dead. which way? does it make them good, or badder like transform into sth gory? pls reply

  • ...yep, he's gone crazy. Remember, this is the same mistake Ernest made after his daughter died.

  • I just don't get why some guys think Maria's ending is the best. For me, this is the one. Isn't bringing the woman he loved most back to life wonderful?

  • Woah, Maria's is the best?

I guess cause she didn't die, and he's no longer lonely. But this ending never says that it was successful in bringing her back, or even happy at all. Which could lead us to believe that he went crazy. As people are saying.

  • wat game is it when he wakes up and its all a dream

  • @rockman124

I think you are speaking of Silent Hill 4 with Henry Townshend and Eileen Galvin?

  • banana meets the goobey bears part III

  • Silent Hill 1 for Psx

  • Not necessarily...

Only in one ending, and it's not a dream, more of a hallucination from the wonk on Harry's head that killed 'im.
