I say beckham totally ruined LA. I was a fan since 2005. Now, since everyone is a LA fan, I've switched on to NE Revolution. They're actually ok compard to European teams like Liverpool and Arsenal.
I believe that no matter how much the MLS and US Soccer gets looked down on we will be a force to be reckoned with if we aren't already. ALso just because our sports centers give soccer about three minutes a week doesn't mean that fans aren't waking up and seeing the passion and love of the sport that makes for a united country and strong teams.

But we have to keep in mind the MLS is only 12 years old. You have to give it time to grow and to attract better players from all over the world.

I sure agree that he was once a great player, hell the man was the captain for team england. But I think he came to the MLS to retire, and make much money as he can before he turns 30. After you hit 30, it's all down hill from there to any soccer players.
Hopefully Beckham can stay healthy this year...he's quite a footballer, even if he is past his prime - the impact he can have on the game in the states will be helpful.

He's a play maker and is kind of a forward. We Mexicans hate his guts, but i have to admit he's good. In you could compare him to Cuahutemoc Blanco, In central america to Wanchope, in brazil of course to a lesser degree to Kaka, and in argentina to again a lesser degree a more centered Messi.
He's a bit like Michael Owen. Of course, Owen must be considered the superior player due to what he's accomplished internationally. Because Donovan can also play midfield I guess you should say that Donovan might be the better all around player. But they both make great runs into the box.
Doesn't matter where their playing Football, it matters that their playing it. MLS has potential and with good care it will only grow better. It may not be as big as Champions League but as long as its making a step forward thats a great achievement in a country where Football comes not even in the top 5 of popular sports.

I cannot agree with anyone who says that the MLS sucks, but I will agree with you if you said its not up to par with leagues from south america or Europe. But we have to keep in mind the MLS is only 12 years old. You have to give it time to grow and to attract better players from all over the world.

LA Galaxy had Beckham come not for his skills, but probably for marketing reasons. And by no way I'm singling out Galaxy. Because teams all over the world does that for profile reasons. from Leon to Man UTD, all they care about is the $. I sure agree that he was once a great player, hell the man was the captain for team england. But I think he came to the MLS to retire, and make much money as he can before he turns 30. After you hit 30, it's all down hill from there to any soccer players.

He's a play maker and is kind of a forward. We Mexicans hate his guts, but i have to admit he's good. In you could compare him to Cuahutemoc Blanco, In central america to Wanchope, in brazil of course to a lesser degree to Kaka, and in argentina to again a lesser degree a more centered Messi.

He's a bit like Michael Owen. Of course, Owen must be considered the superior player due to what he's accomplished internationally. Because Donovan can also play midfield I guess you should say that Donovan might be the better all around player. But they both make great runs into the box.

Doesn't matter where their playing Football, it matters that their playing it. MLS has potential and with good care it will only grow better. It may not be as big as Champions League but as long as its making a step forward thats a great achievement in a country where Football comes not even in the top 5 of popular sports.

playing thier final game in america is for the fans to see what real game play looks like. if america actually invested in developing young players in this country then maybe we wouldnt have to look to other countries 4 real talent. 100 Million 4 beckham and he isnt even playing. not on the england squad. and never got his 100th cap. look at holland.england. they all have academies developing young players. maybe invest that 100 million into academies. look what happened to adu.....
