This usually happens to me when

-I play on ground war and there is A LOT of people who like to throw there explosives around and goes BOOM all at once

-When a killstreak like (Percision airstrike, AC-130) shoots down while teamates throw the there explosive rounds and hit down at the same time it makes the HUGE loud sound

And yeah i also play on PS3

and this hurts me ears when it happens because i use a turtle beach head set...

@TheDarkchain123 PS3. I had both headphones and external sound enabled because I had a friend over. both made this terrible noice. This is a programming mistake for sure. Probably caused becuase the game wants to play a certain sound, which it cant find, thus making a terrible noice when the error occurs.

I just got a new panasonic surround system a couple weeks ago. I thought the error was the system. Glad you posted this video and yes I've had the same problem several times. I powered off my stereo and powered it back on and that fixed it for me. I'm playing at lower volume to prevent a blown speaker now.

Yes. I experience this too on my Astro A40s and yes, on Kill Confirmed too.

It is rare though but back when the game first came out, I experienced it a lot more frequently.

Really can make one deaf. Thanks for pointing this out.

Now we know that it isn't our Optical cable or headset's fault but the awful job the audio engineers did.

Finally I found a Video I can relate to, I just received a ps3 120gb slim yesterday 12/25/11 and I experienced this sound today during game play on mw3. very loud an disturbing.
