This is nonsense. The government has been bought out by the private sector a long time ago-- they are one and the same. Humans are out of work because they (we as a superorganism) engineer software and robotic arms and other automation to replace ourselves in the workplace. If you as a libertarian want to give certain rights to yourself,
@shone1178 You have to give those rights to gigantic multinational corporations as well. Including the military industrial complex and its goon squad in the CIA, and all the drugs it sells. I mean, If you can explain to me how you can have capitalism without having corporations buying the government out, I'm all ears. Until then, you'd better prepare yourself for an oil war in Iran that both the US gov't AND the US private sector want-- for oil and the continuity of the Petrodollar. 1 & the same
Well, I caved in and listened to the rest of the vid. Found our he was right after all. I don't have a job because i'm afraid a lion or a huge reptillian will eat me. hahahahahahahahahahahah
I quit watching at 248. I've had some kind of job all my life and have never been thrown in jail for having a job. I don't know what was said after I quit watching but it doesn't matter. Lie to me and I won't believe anything else that you say.
@bugsbugmenot Ridiculous huh? Well if the truth is ridiculous I guess you're right. If the speaker meant anything other than what he said, I'm just not interested.I guess i can watch youtube videos as well as anyone but I don't play games with the speaker. I've seen too many that were nonsense like this one. Also I don't care what you think.
the reason why America has unions, is because employers used to under pay thier employees and over worked them. that is when workers organized, and that is why the Govt. created the minimum wage, to protect people from abuse
@herbalist2993 I think so, it protects the people living below the poverty line from working slave wages to the point where people just make enough to survive another day. Kind of like it is in China, and kind of like it was in the United States. Before the government set the minimum wage, employers were underpaying their employees. Wages were soo below the cost of living, that people were living dfay-by-day, with the little pay they received. In closing, i think minimum wage
@herbalist2993 is good in our current monetary standard. However, i am a firm believer in changing our monetary system. i think a resourced based economy is the best. What resource should the economy be based, i dont know, but any economy is better than ours.
Your dead bloody right, and no not recognise that shows your living in an illusionary bubble under the influence of main stream media, who is owned by the corporation. “The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.” ― Joseph Goebbels
ive been unemployed in the uk for 4 years now, i went to the tax office to tell them to stop sending me the self assessment forms, but every year they send me a new one trying to fine me £100+ for non returning along with bailiff threats ect. the last job i had the government were taking 30% of my wage as tax the government are crooks, thugs and thieves

It's no wonder you couldn't find a job after school. You're nuts. What did you major in? Philosophy or something useless like that? I've NEVER worked for minimum wage. As a matter of fact I don't even know of a business that will pay you minimum wage. McDonalds doesn't even do it. If you have no skills, and think you're going to get shot if you get a job. Just do us all a favor and leave the country. Stop collecting a check from the government and LEAVE. You fuckin' slackers.
I just had an epiphany. Say you accept a loan from a bank and you have to pay it back with interest. So now you are taking the money from your job to pay extra money plus the amount you borrow. You now take the money out of the market circulation to give to the bank and now the Fed Reserve needs to create more money (causing inflation) to pay you minimum wage, instead of you working for free to pay it off. Any disagreements?
So the notion is about getting a job? What about the notion of earning a liveable wage? This is far more important. So many people not earning a liveable income (by any means). So who do we blame for that?
You have made this overdramatic. If I agree to mow someone's lawn for twenty dollars, I am not going to get thrown in jail. I am going to mow, I am going to get twenty dollars and be on my way. If I started a company and refused to abide by the same laws and regulations as everyone else, then I would be fined and possibly shut down, but jail would be many offenses down the road. I think you are compromising yourself and giving people a reason to dismiss you out of hand when you speak this way.
No, that's a race to the bottom. Why should people be forced to work for peanuts? It's the rich who need to let go of some of their excessive income, not the poor who can't live on what they are paid.
so yeah this "gun in the room" is real but it's a lot more simple than this theory about being thrown in jail for working (i don't really follow that too well), it's a case of a gun pointing at you and saying keep off the grass
much simpler way of putting it
you don't need a job, you need a wild pig to roast, but you're not allowed to hunt one because someone else is keeping them locked up by the millions just so they can force you to do what you're told if you want to eat
the real reason is a combination of overpopulation and the fact that employment is simply slavery
there are too many slaves that no one has any use for... naturally our species would live off the land and take what they need to survive, but a minority of people has used physical force to claim ownership of all of the land, and used the control of the resources as a way to force others to obey their will
they have enough people to satisfy every desire, and need no more
working for less than minimum wage = POVERTY. We need government intervention (minimum wage) to keep the GREEDY in check or they would be taking advantage of those who labor for them.
union members do not really pay union dues because the salaries they make from being union members are MUCH higher than they would be if they had negotiated their contracts seperately(non-union).
Ha, On Wisconsin, you know shit. You're a schill for the rich who want to enslave you with low wages. I'll die standing ,before I die on my knees.Be the good little slave you wish.I'll stand for the poor if it costs me my life. That's the problem with fools like this. You should take a job and be the good little slave they want you to be. No guts,no glory. You oughta' be shot with that hypothetical gun in my opinion.Fucking traitor!
W.T.F You lost me buddy! I'm making a Documentary film about unemployed people and the struggles they go though to find a job. If any one like to be a part of it stop by and let me know. Thank you. Troy.G @ MaddTroys Studio X.
If there weren't a minimun wage corporations would make proffits of it by paying less to workers. You don't have a job because of economy, offer and demand. During an economic crissis, business tend to close and there's less work on the market, less work = more unemployment.
Are you stupid? If it was legal to work for any amount of money, how low or how high, it would cause a modern day slavery. This is what we had in the eighteen hundreds that sparked the whole movement with unions. What a bunch of bullshit. And people thumb up this stupid remark?
@FreddoX1 Actually, Minimum wage laws do much more harm than good.
Imagine you're running a company, and you need someone to press a button.
It only makes you about 5 dollars an hour, so you pay him 4 dollars and hour.
The government passes a minimum wage law, requiring you to pay the worker 9 dollars an hour. Realizing that you are making a loss of profit, you decide to fire the employee and invest in machinery that will press the button.
@Jaminjames122 What kind of shitty argument is that? So you neglect entirely the fact that competition would develope and every company gets their requried shared of workers who will accept the pay. Everyone else is left out. There's always a small group of people that will do anything for a low amount of money, and companies will get to them. So those who want a decent life with decent pay will be fired and pushed to the side.
@Jaminjames122 Think about that. Why wouldn't you want a machine to push the button? Increased efficiency, then that person can go do something more fun and creative. If all the jobs get automated then everyone can do as they please.
And during the great depression with those people who are lined up like you mentioned. It's really not that they are withheld from work due to government rules. It was the total economic collapse combined with the great drought. it was partly caused due to a lack of government regulation + a big government dept. Not without a reason the glass steagal act was created shortly after. You are an idiot and have no idea what you are talking about.
Don't know where you are from but in northern Europe for example pensions are pretty well arranged. Really not thugs or some sort of scheme. If you as an entrepreneur can't fill in all the paperwork and don't have the money then the job is clearly not suitable for you. Minimum wages are there to protect the employee who is in a way less stronger position. To avoid being exploited. Like what happened in the 1920s and 30s.
Hi there. This video is one big casserole of nonsense. First of all in the western world the majority of homeless people in the western world these days have serious mental problems like for example schizophrenia. Unlike in the time of Orwell which was a very different world with no government help, social welfare and so on. There is no 'loaded gun in the western world either. Unlike in some third world countries (and sometimes literally ).
Dear sir, don't you think that 'not having a minimum wage' will end in a huge wealth difference between the 'top handiest' and the rest of the 'less handy people'?
This bullshit! lololol! Trying to get cheaper labor. The scumbags that are sitting on tons of money is the reasons. Why work for a wage that will not support you.
so you want the working poor to be even more poor? Someone working 40 cents an hour like they do in china? A job where you don't make enough to even pay for food or rent? The problem isn't solely the government it's the greedy businessmen of the world. If they only had to pay people 40 cents an hour like in china the same amount of people would still be employed just at a much lower rate of income.
the reason people cannot get a job is because CEOs are naturally prone to pay dog shit for wages ; Unions keep the wages up : But the corporations like cheap labor like they get in Vietnam , Indonesia, saipan , china etc. and so there is humongous profiteering for the Ebeneezer of life . And so the hell with America and decent wages ; they say they are American while they do all that can be done to destroy American Values and fuk the Common Americans : I say go back to true Christian Values :
I'm unemployed because I can't stand to work these meaningless jobs anymore. I feel like they're sucking my soul out. I don't want to sell my life for paper with which to buy material products that I don't really need or even want. I refuse to resign myself to a lifetime of working at a dead end job I hate everyday to procure and then redistribute money. Surely there is a better way??
@jmallen62691 There sure is a better way. Spend your time finding what it is you want/enjoy doing. Consider what you would want to do if money were not an issue. Then do it. Once you have begun doing it, and getting good at it, and eventually mastering it, money (if it still exists) can be gotten through doing what you have mastered. And I would not consider you as unemployed. You choose to not work a job. I think Stef is referring to people who want a job.
Who in their right mind would invest in the stock market. If you are connected you might want to but do you the average worker know anyone that is making money for retirement by investing in wall st?If all your retirement funds were tied up in the stock market in 08 you know what I' m talking about. The same people we bailed out would love to steal more retirement accounts and they are doing their best to point congress in that direction.
Social security is not a ponzi scheme. If congress hadn't "borrowed" money on a regular basis from the S.S. fund it would be way ahead of the game.People are calling it an entitlement program a nd I guess you could call it that but every honest working stiff has paid into it their entire working careers. Most retirees will never live long enough to get out of it the money that they've contributed.Congress at the bidding of wall st. would love to kill it so wall st could gain more investors.
clearly you dont see the gun in the room. The reason people are unemployed is because companies can make more money by automating it. Then they dont have to pay health care, 401ks, or wages. This lets them make more money. Even with minimum wage now a days you'd have to be working well over 40 hrs a week just to get by without being below the poverty line. Your arguing for the corporations (aka our government) not the people
I'm missing your point people are getting shot and beaten and arressed for being unemployed....
So cares what happens to Employers...
I lost my job because I got replaced by a Computer Controlled computer... That's why I lost my job... no gun... just technology... The industrial model of work has run it's course.. It is the dinosaur that still walks among us. It will soon be extinct. No amount of excuse or finger pointing this party or that party will bring it back. It's dead..
@norvman I think you missed his point. It is *CHEAPER* to run a computer than to hire a person. You, the person, are *FAR* more expensive. You require a salary. You require toilets. You require breaks. The computer? Only power. Nothing else, maybe a cooling system just for hot days, but that would represent a water jug for you.
@N4RVS Okay.... look... Are the computers going to become the new consumers? how much do the Robots get paid? and are they going to get time off to go shopping? It's a suicide slide we are now on and it cant' sustain it's self... that's my point...
@norvman Again, I feel like you're missing the point. We're talking about employability, not consumerism. Understand the topic at hand, then reply properly, please.
@N4RVS Again I fell your missing the point... without consumerism... there is no Businesses to be employed by... Understand the Reality... the two are not seperable... then get back to us...
@norvman Business is the consumer! Don't you understand?
The *raw* material, *always* gets sold to a small business. That business does something, then re sells it. Another business gets it turns it into something invaluable, such as drinking water, and the people (us) *have* to buy it. It's a necessity for the life we've created.
@N4RVS Raw materials never get sold to 'small businesses'.... ever... if your in the Raw Material business you are 'Big Business' is Big Business a consummer... sure it is... but They pay far less for their 'stuff' than we do for 'our stuff' and that is the crux of the matter... The System is broken... and not just a little bit... It's done... hide your head in the sand if you wish... but don't blame the rest of us when you get left behind...
in other words: if you dont participate in the biggest scam ever unknown to man and pay off the modern mafia then you u either live in fear(win) or eventually lose again(double win). lesson learned: they keep winning no matter what and you are the vehicle that makes it all happen for them. hence, they got us be the balls. fucking modern day slavery
The reason I haven't got a job is because I educated myself out of a job. Those jobs I should have are either overseas and whats left goes to educated immigrants, or they want experienced people. In the end you lose hope, feel like your in a bell jar. Behold! Help comes in the form of abuse. "You must take this worthless demeaning zero prospect job or we cut your benefits, you sponger..you loser". You leave that job and sign on again and they ask "What was your most recent job experience?"
Don't forget the educational gun put to our heads. Why get a piece of paper for $50,000 to do a job or so-called career that you can train a monkey to do?
All these laws have nothing to do with looking after the common man, they are simply the way of keeping you "dependent" on government and state control...
NAFTA was passed and signed by Bill Clinton after campaigning against it. Corporations moved off shore it get cheap labor and not break the law. We are left with lower paying jobs and are still tax slaves to a system of tax and spend. Our slave master is the government, the police, IRS, FBI are their enforcers. The government is an organized crime syndicate similar to the Mafia. The only difference is the pretense of legality.
their funeral, with maybe someone to visit their grave once or twice in its existence, to be forgotten in less than the fabric of 1 generation, everything they ever said, ever did, meaning absolutely nothing and cast into the vortex of nothingness our overseers have proclomated into the subconscious minds of the herded sheep. Anyone who would bastardize a man, who is selflessly trying to inform about the dangers of government, is an evil sick individual.
Also, who would not find truth in someone who is universally being selfless and trying to inform a bunch of people who have let the human race become sheep? I think that jealousy runs rampant, as well as people who are living in false reality, feeling ashamed that they are in the vortex of nothingness that is overcast on 90% of the populace, that is why these people condemn pure universal truth. Those are ones who live life, have no real purpose, die, and have less than 10 people show up to
You people who bastardize this are not only sickening, un-advanced, simplistic life forms, but evidently your living in what i would propagate a true false reality. Not only is this man what i would call, the evolutionary flower of the human race, and his theories righteous of moral and compassion, but he is honestly trying to describe his opinion in a sincere, truthful, and respectful way, informing you of atrocities our governments world wide are committing against the human race. Universal
I call bullshit. How about this... why should I have to play the monetary game to begin with? Why can't I be productive without a catch? Like I want to work a shitty job?
But education costs money.
Materials to produce a new product costs money.
Licenses cost money. (And would probably exist regardless of the state.)
So even to get a job, you need money initially. What a contradiction, what a load of crock.
OK. You go with calling all that stuff a "gun". I going to watch out for the REAL gun, the one that has bullets in it. You can find a description here:
wikipedia. org/wiki/Gun (complete with pretty picture)
The real reason you don't have a job: YOU HAVE A CRAPPY DEGREE, NO SKILL AT SHOWING EMPLOYERS YOUR STRENGTHS, AND ARE PROBABLY A DUMB SHIT LIKE THIS GUY. This guy probably has a psychology or philosophy degree. FUCKING IDIOT... I hate people like this.
Maybe there needs to be another vid called "how I got employed" because it seems to be a total mystery to most people how the "situation" got so crappy?
What a load of crap... The system itself is rotten to the core and needs to be replaced in it's entirety. Minimum wage and unions are there to prevent corporations from taking advantage of peoples desperation... If you're on a sinking ship and the only thing keeping it afloat is a piece of gum you don't blame the gum when you drown do you?!
@AthenasConquest So you actually still believe that politicians 'fix' things? Politicians don't solve problems , they prevent change! And above all they make money! Don't you get it?! It doesn't matter who you vote for, they are all in the same club and they don't give about you as long as you keep working. PEOPLE! STOP LOOKING FOR A SAVIOR BECAUSE NOBODY IS COMING.
I say pick up the gun and make work mandatory! Let's dissolve the transnational captains of industry who would export all American productivity to the east! Globalist sedition should not be tolerated! Josip Broz Tito would get you a job and jail the traitorous financiers with a magical little act called COERCION!!!
Wow the guy in this video makes a good point, China creates lots of jobs at 17cents an hour, if only this guy could be given a job for 17cents an hour his dream of economic freedom could be realized. just like all those lucky workers in China,...Who all wish they lived and worked somewhere else for some strange reason. oh well, they just don't see as clearly as this guy does.
@z3r0Projects Well... that's a dumb idea because you can be arrested and go to jail but, I think we should all turn off all the bs that comes from the moronia (media) and share info with each other more personally and demand that the bail out money be given to us even if it means all these crooks go poor and loose everything.
@DrBakshandeh Sign on of you live in england , Otherwise Getto a national nature park a massive one and try a freemans life, even though the park would be in he hand of the government so you wont be free there anyway...
@DrBakshandeh how about creating your own jobs? instead of looking for someone that will give you one, dont know just an option i guess, diy or die! it is hard as fuck but what else can you do ? start creating youre own source of wealth and production independent from the established ways.
there is a simple way around this. nature person vs corp. "created" person. It means a great deal that your name is in all capital letters on your drivers licence, social security card, birth certifacate.......
On the topic of wages, does it seem strange to anyone else that wages are about the only prices that the buyer sets. Imagine if we set the price we would be willing to pay for the things we buy. Because essentially employers are buying our labor from us. We are the seller. So we should set the asking price. We don't because we're not in demand, jobs are. Therefor the employers have the control. Could it ever be possible to flip that to where there are more jobs than people looking for work?
I am unemployed at the moment and going through the process of applying for jobs I don't want, for employers who will not have me, so I can keep receiving my unemployment cheques. During this process I've discovered that a lot of employers like to ask you to disclose your wage/salary expectations on their application forms. Well the minimum wage here is $15.51(AUD). I'd work for less than that, that's a good wage actually. But I can't put down anything less than that. Perhaps I should try it.
Here we go again, here's another one who wants to abolish minimum wage....for everyone except HIMSELF of course. I DARE anyone who thinks minimum wage is too much to pay someone to live off it for a year, with NO help from spouse or mommy.
@gwenshin true, Reasons for UNEMPLOYMENT: - Technology - Cheap labor
Because of Technology and Cheap Labor, production of goods and services is now able to meet the needs of the world.... but, those goods and services are only limited to consumers with MONEY which is wrong!
So, how can jobs be created? - Using Bank Loans to create meaningless businesses to provide more jobs causing government to tax citizens to bail the Banks out.
Live in Abundance with your family as advanced technology does all the tedious work leaving you to be free to fulfill your creative pursuits without ever having to worry about working for money ever again.
Let's Not limit FREE Resources to just Open Source Software, Let's make it everything FREE, so people don't have to slave for a mere penance of existence.
@yoavgutt That's like arguing that having a small penis is better than no penis at all; what's the point in participating if what you have to show is just gonna be laughed at even after all your hard efforts?
globalization has a bigger role in unemployment than minimum wage laws or unions. countries like china and india will always be by far the cheaper labor options to take. in these counties labor simply demands lower wages. if we got rid of MW and unions today and bringing jobs back to america would still increase labor costs and decrease profits to companies do you really think jobs would come back? not gonna happen. maxing profits is the greatest concern of most business
of course maxing profits is the most important concern of business, and it should be. The american worker must be more productive than 20 chinese employees. And he can be, with his technology, and greater human capital. Not all jobs can be shipped over seas. Minimum wages and unions should be outlawed, if we ever want to have work again.
@OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp the jobs that cant be shipped overseas arent hiring. they arent hiring because there is no demand for more product. consumers lack buying power due to high unemployment and low wages not because of MW and unions. like i said, abolishing MW and unions will not bring jobs back from overseas unless the wages paid are less than or equal to foreign wages + the cost of importing. as long as it is cheaper to produce elsewhere, production will stay there.
why am I unemployed ?? cause everybody needs a man with experience at least 2 or 3 years ... tell me where can I get that experience when nobody wanna give me a job without it ... circle is made ... fucked up situation ...
@holekyo They need you to have experience because it's not worth them paying you $8 an hr to learn on the job when there are other people available. A business isn't willing to take a risk at $8/hr ($320/week, $16,640/year). Try coming up with a business plan that allows you to hire several people at that rate and make a profit. It isn't as easy as you think. It's far cheaper to replace a few people making min. wage w/ benfits with a $60k machine.
@holekyo He actually answered your question. People would want your labor if they could pay you what you're worth: 0 job experience means you're worth less than minimum wage, in most professions. You can't gain more experience (a foothold in the industry, in Molyneux' words) because there are people who would shoot either you or your employer for giving you what you're worth with 0 experience. Do you see who creates the cycle?
@holekyo The way you get a job that requires experience is (a) volunteer until you have the experience, and/or (b) get really good at explaining to people why your existing skills and experience from another job/hobby/etc. would make you amazing at this job.
@holekyo internships... which is you spending your time in exchange for "experience" which is code for free labor so long as they're willing to put in the effort to train you.
where do you get that experience, you work your ass off for 2-3 years for no money hoping that when those 2-3 years are up that you'll be able to get a job thats probably no longer available.
RIIIIIIIIIGHT!!! I would LOVE to have a job that pays LESS than minimum wage... So I can live in a box, wash my work clothes in the gutter, eat rocks and sticks to save money so I can pay off my college tuition!!
@SickLaxBroHD How is it better than nothing if you are living in a shelter? If I couldn't afford to live outside a homeless shelter, I'd rather work in the shelter.
@SickLaxBroHD Perhaps if they have family they can live with. My family blames me for not being able to get a job with my degrees, and I've been taken to housing court. I think the case has been dismissed, but I'm not sure, and I can't pay December's rent.
@scottandrewhutchins you did not get his point... you dont have to agree with him but try to understand that getting paid under minume wage is not slaver
@SickLaxBroHD What's the point of having a job if you make so little that you have to sleep in a homeless shelter after work? That's worse than slavery. There's no point in having a job if you're not earning a living, and his argument is for jobs in which people can't earn a living.
@scottandrewhutchins But his point is that in a bad economy a job paying 5$ an hour is better then no job. Just saying thats what his point is some money is better then no money.
Thats a very good point, however I think there is a more sinister reason that people dont talk about or acknowledge. The US Military was UNABLE to meet recruitment MINIMUMS & UNABLE to RETAIN soldiers after their contract expired. So either institute the DRAFT or raise unemployment. Now the military are kicking ppl out & recruiters are turning ppl away. This is why Republicans do nothing to create jobs, they need plenty of soldiers when they win back the Presidency to attack IRAN! Sad but true!
I don't want a job. Who wants to be a slave? All any employer has to offer me is dirty money, and I don't want money. I don't need money. Money is so dirty, its been through so many hands, I wouldn't even wipe my ass with it? Would you wipe your ass with a dollar bill with a picture of dead guys on it? Why fight like mad and prostitute yourself to get pieces of paper that aren't even pretty.
@cobrachoppergirl Diagnosed as wasters and losers for showing the slightest bit of reluctance when throwing away our freedoms and consenting to become slaves. And you pay for toilet roll, so you might as well be wiping your ass with money.
@01110110010110110101 What does making immature comments like that do for you? Is it a mental disorder or are you just really immature? I guess articulating your views in an intelligent manner is just too hard for you right? Get a life and quit trolling YouTube....clown! lol
@EsotericOccultist You replied with as many questions as my comment contained words, yet you try to imply that I'm somehow stupid. Brilliant. But seriously, I feel like a scolded dog now after that stern telling off, I've already begun to get my life on track. Do say a prayer to the evil spirits at your next bonfire for me, won't you sir. Regards.
Video started well but then went completely over the top. Police state is a complete exaggeration. People do not get arrested for getting a job. The workers rights refered to, make people better off not worse off. Unions and minimum wage boost the wages of low earners and prevent exploitation by employers. Also during the great depression there was no minimum wage or widespread unionisation
@rapn21 not to mention - work comp - state witholding - federal witholding - state unemployment insurance - federal unemployment insurance - the cost of hours and hours of paperwork - litigation and coruption fines and penalties for missing due dates and on and on -
you have the cost of everything you buy inflated by 10 to 40 percent or much more more - and you think that makes us all better off?
sorry but that is economic lunacy. It is logically, mathematically & economically fallible on so many levels
Min wage is never a boost on net earnings & wealth. Please go watch Dr. Walter Block's videos explaining this very simple mathematical logical fact. And also check out Ben Powell. Your comment is full of economic and logical fallacies & ignorance
@swu880 I did read up on Ben Powell, but the arguement is too simple. The textbook book arguement is unrealistic. Minimum wage (and higher wages in general) have the positive effect of boosting morale and reducing turnover (and training in new employees is a large cost for employers in low wage industries). If people feel good about their work, they work better. Surely it is obvious that someone who hates their work, feels under paid and under appreciated is going to have a very low productivity
@swu880 Ok, employers pay wages from the money the company makes fromits sales. This comes from consumers who get their money from their wages. Therefore a rise in wages would boost sales and pay for itself. On the 2nd point, people get paid for the work they do. Higher wages increase morale, so people work harder and better and the rise in productivity pays for the wage rise
This is nonsense. The government has been bought out by the private sector a long time ago-- they are one and the same. Humans are out of work because they (we as a superorganism) engineer software and robotic arms and other automation to replace ourselves in the workplace. It happens every 20-30 years or so, as humanity rewires itself. Vice president rockefeller... Vice president cheney... does this not scare the spine out of you? If you as a libertarian want to give certain rights to yourself,

@shone1178 You have to give those rights to gigantic multinational corporations as well. Including the military industrial complex and its goon squad in the CIA, and all the drugs it sells. I mean, If you can explain to me how you can have capitalism without having corporations buying the government out, I'm all ears. Until then, you'd better prepare yourself for an oil war in Iran that both the US gov't AND the US private sector want-- for oil and the continuity of the Petrodollar. 1 & the same

the reason why America has unions, is because employers used to under pay thier employees and over worked them. that is when workers organized, and that is why the Govt. created the minimum wage, to protect people from abuse
rapsta86 1 week ago
@rapsta86 uh yea this minimum wage we have here sure is protecting us right? -_-
herbalist2993 2 days ago

2012Aragorn 2 weeks ago
You have made this overdramatic. If I agree to mow someone's lawn for twenty dollars, I am not going to get thrown in jail. I am going to mow, I am going to get twenty dollars and be on my way. If I started a company and refused to abide by the same laws and regulations as everyone else, then I would be fined and possibly shut down, but jail would be many offenses down the road. I think you are compromising yourself and giving people a reason to dismiss you out of hand when you speak this way.

much simpler way of putting it
you don't need a job, you need a wild pig to roast, but you're not allowed to hunt one because someone else is keeping them locked up by the millions just so they can force you to do what you're told if you want to eat

unemployment isn't a problem, it is the natural state of being
the problem lies in seeking a master when you should be seeking to eliminate those who prevent you from living off the land as you should
even considering yourself "unemployed" instead of "forcefully denied free access to the land" keeps you in the mindstate of a slave
genericity 2 weeks ago 2
the real reason is a combination of overpopulation and the fact that employment is simply slavery
there are too many slaves that no one has any use for... naturally our species would live off the land and take what they need to survive, but a minority of people has used physical force to claim ownership of all of the land, and used the control of the resources as a way to force others to obey their will
they have enough people to satisfy every desire, and need no more
you're leftovers

Are you stupid? If it was legal to work for any amount of money, how low or how high, it would cause a modern day slavery. This is what we had in the eighteen hundreds that sparked the whole movement with unions. What a bunch of bullshit. And people thumb up this stupid remark?
FreddoX1 1 month ago
@FreddoX1 Actually, Minimum wage laws do much more harm than good.
Imagine you're running a company, and you need someone to press a button.
It only makes you about 5 dollars an hour, so you pay him 4 dollars and hour.
The government passes a minimum wage law, requiring you to pay the worker 9 dollars an hour. Realizing that you are making a loss of profit, you decide to fire the employee and invest in machinery that will press the button.
Jaminjames122 1 month ago
@Jaminjames122 What kind of shitty argument is that? So you neglect entirely the fact that competition would develope and every company gets their requried shared of workers who will accept the pay. Everyone else is left out. There's always a small group of people that will do anything for a low amount of money, and companies will get to them. So those who want a decent life with decent pay will be fired and pushed to the side.
Damn you're an idiot.

This lets them make more money. Even with minimum wage now a days you'd have to be working well over 40 hrs a week just to get by without being below the poverty line.
BobGeorgeAU 2 months ago
I am unemployed at the moment and going through the process of applying for jobs I don't want, for employers who will not have me, so I can keep receiving my unemployment cheques. During this process I've discovered that a lot of employers like to ask you to disclose your wage/salary expectations on their application forms. Well the minimum wage here is $15.51(AUD). I'd work for less than that, that's a good wage actually. But I can't put down anything less than that. Perhaps I should try it.

@yoavgutt That's like arguing that having a small penis is better than no penis at all; what's the point in participating if what you have to show is just gonna be laughed at even after all your hard efforts?
rimwrangler 1 month ago
@rimwrangler lets say you had a small penis... would you want it chopped off???
yoavgutt 1 month ago
@yoavgutt Yeah, Im sure you mean that for OTHER people, but certainly not for yourself.
gwenshin 1 month ago
@gwenshin of course id prefer a larger wage but if its between a small one and no wage at all its a no brainer
yoavgutt 1 month ago
globalization has a bigger role in unemployment than minimum wage laws or unions. countries like china and india will always be by far the cheaper labor options to take. in these counties labor simply demands lower wages. if we got rid of MW and unions today and bringing jobs back to america would still increase labor costs and decrease profits to companies do you really think jobs would come back? not gonna happen. maxing profits is the greatest concern of most business
YoungTon22 3 months ago
@YoungTon22
of course maxing profits is the most important concern of business, and it should be. The american worker must be more productive than 20 chinese employees. And he can be, with his technology, and greater human capital. Not all jobs can be shipped over seas. Minimum wages and unions should be outlawed, if we ever want to have work again.
OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp 2 months ago
@OnlyTheWeakNeedHelp the jobs that cant be shipped overseas arent hiring. they arent hiring because there is no demand for more product. consumers lack buying power due to high unemployment and low wages not because of MW and unions. like i said, abolishing MW and unions will not bring jobs back from overseas unless the wages paid are less than or equal to foreign wages + the cost of importing. as long as it is cheaper to produce elsewhere, production will stay there.

why am I unemployed ?? cause everybody needs a man with experience at least 2 or 3 years ... tell me where can I get that experience when nobody wanna give me a job without it ... circle is made ... fucked up situation ...
holekyo 3 months ago 42
@holekyo They need you to have experience because it's not worth them paying you $8 an hr to learn on the job when there are other people available. A business isn't willing to take a risk at $8/hr ($320/week, $16,640/year). Try coming up with a business plan that allows you to hire several people at that rate and make a profit. It isn't as easy as you think. It's far cheaper to replace a few people making min. wage w/ benfits with a $60k machine.
dudewithaclue 2 months ago
@holekyo He actually answered your question. People would want your labor if they could pay you what you're worth: 0 job experience means you're worth less than minimum wage, in most professions. You can't gain more experience (a foothold in the industry, in Molyneux' words) because there are people who would shoot either you or your employer for giving you what you're worth with 0 experience. Do you see who creates the cycle?
jozhikas 2 months ago
@holekyo The way you get a job that requires experience is (a) volunteer until you have the experience, and/or (b) get really good at explaining to people why your existing skills and experience from another job/hobby/etc. would make you amazing at this job.
popupdrivein 2 months ago
@holekyo internships... which is you spending your time in exchange for "experience" which is code for free labor so long as they're willing to put in the effort to train you.
where do you get that experience, you work your ass off for 2-3 years for no money hoping that when those 2-3 years are up that you'll be able to get a job thats probably no longer available.

RIIIIIIIIIGHT!!! I would LOVE to have a job that pays LESS than minimum wage... So I can live in a box, wash my work clothes in the gutter, eat rocks and sticks to save money so I can pay off my college tuition!!
scotchrks 3 months ago
A job that pays so poorly that you live in a homeless shelter is exploitation. This video is pro-exploitation.
scottandrewhutchins 3 months ago
@scottandrewhutchins yes its not sustainable in the long run of having a job as a career, but for a year or less it is better than having nothing.
SickLaxBroHD 3 months ago
@SickLaxBroHD How is it better than nothing if you are living in a shelter? If I couldn't afford to live outside a homeless shelter, I'd rather work in the shelter.
scottandrewhutchins 3 months ago
@scottandrewhutchins not every one who makes minimum wag lives in a shelter
SickLaxBroHD 3 months ago
@SickLaxBroHD Perhaps if they have family they can live with. My family blames me for not being able to get a job with my degrees, and I've been taken to housing court. I think the case has been dismissed, but I'm not sure, and I can't pay December's rent.
scottandrewhutchins 3 months ago
@SickLaxBroHD No, they live with mummy or hubby.
gwenshin 3 months ago
This is stupid. You think the reason we can't get a job is because slavery is illegal?
scottandrewhutchins 3 months ago
@scottandrewhutchins you did not get his point... you dont have to agree with him but try to understand that getting paid under minume wage is not slaver
SickLaxBroHD 3 months ago
@SickLaxBroHD What's the point of having a job if you make so little that you have to sleep in a homeless shelter after work? That's worse than slavery. There's no point in having a job if you're not earning a living, and his argument is for jobs in which people can't earn a living.
scottandrewhutchins 3 months ago
@scottandrewhutchins But his point is that in a bad economy a job paying 5$ an hour is better then no job. Just saying thats what his point is some money is better then no money.
SickLaxBroHD 3 months ago
@SickLaxBroHD I can't agree with that point. If your job pays so little that you still have to live in a homeless shelter, it has no point.
scottandrewhutchins 3 months ago
@scottandrewhutchins he never mentions slavery.....

What intellectually bankrupt drivel.
williamwilson666 3 months ago
Thats a very good point, however I think there is a more sinister reason that people dont talk about or acknowledge. The US Military was UNABLE to meet recruitment MINIMUMS & UNABLE to RETAIN soldiers after their contract expired. So either institute the DRAFT or raise unemployment. Now the military are kicking ppl out & recruiters are turning ppl away. This is why Republicans do nothing to create jobs, they need plenty of soldiers when they win back the Presidency to attack IRAN! Sad but true!

@xinecallaw I can't wait for Iran. Ihope you're right!

Why fight like mad and prostitute yourself to get pieces of paper that aren't even pretty.
cobrachoppergirl 3 months ago
@cobrachoppergirl Diagnosed as wasters and losers for showing the slightest bit of reluctance when throwing away our freedoms and consenting to become slaves. And you pay for toilet roll, so you might as well be wiping your ass with money.

@01110110010110110101 What does making immature comments like that do for you? Is it a mental disorder or are you just really immature? I guess articulating your views in an intelligent manner is just too hard for you right? Get a life and quit trolling YouTube....clown! lol
EsotericOccultist 3 months ago

Also during the great depression there was no minimum wage or widespread unionisation

xl0l0l0l0lx 3 months ago
@rapn21 not to mention - work comp - state witholding - federal witholding - state unemployment insurance - federal unemployment insurance - the cost of hours and hours of paperwork - litigation and coruption fines and penalties for missing due dates and on and on -
you have the cost of everything you buy inflated by 10 to 40 percent or much more more - and you think that makes us all better off?
xl0l0l0l0lx 3 months ago 5
@xl0l0l0l0lx Sorry I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about. I'm Irish so the references the American system are going over my head
rapn21 3 months ago
@rapn21
sorry but that is economic lunacy. It is logically, mathematically & economically fallible on so many levels
Min wage is never a boost on net earnings & wealth. Please go watch Dr. Walter Block's videos explaining this very simple mathematical logical fact. And also check out Ben Powell. Your comment is full of economic and logical fallacies & ignorance
swu880 3 months ago
@swu880
it is never possible to mandate wealth. Mandates can't create wealth- its really simple mathematical & logical fact
swu880 3 months ago
@swu880 I did read up on Ben Powell, but the arguement is too simple. The textbook book arguement is unrealistic. Minimum wage (and higher wages in general) have the positive effect of boosting morale and reducing turnover (and training in new employees is a large cost for employers in low wage industries). If people feel good about their work, they work better. Surely it is obvious that someone who hates their work, feels under paid and under appreciated is going to have a very low productivity
rapn21 3 months ago
@rapn21
look its really very simple. Where does the money come from? Why does anyone even bother payin any wages at all? answer these 2 very basic questions
swu880 3 months ago
@swu880
Who owns what capital?
swu880 3 months ago
@swu880 Ok, employers pay wages from the money the company makes fromits sales. This comes from consumers who get their money from their wages. Therefore a rise in wages would boost sales and pay for itself. On the 2nd point, people get paid for the work they do. Higher wages increase morale, so people work harder and better and the rise in productivity pays for the wage rise
