Marijuana potency has nothing to do with ANY negative effects commonly associated with it, it's a hollow topic when it comes to an overall topic of legalization; I'm tired of hearing it in so many arguements where it's simply not relevant. If you want to talk about drug potency, look at the initially harmful drugs like meth and heroin, and not to mention the legal drugs doctors give you.. like let's see OXYCOTTON? Get real bone heads
And no matter how "strong" marijuana gets it will never be like the crap the pain doctors give me that have gone so far as to cause seizures, loss of memory and overdosed by pain patches in the Az sun. It's all about keeping the status quo.
Doesn't anybody get that we have a society of lawyers, judges, court clerks etc., who ALL make their living threw the court systems, what happens if you take all those clients(people busted for possession of marijuana) away. Have you seen the salary of most lawyers and judges? And we have the Doctors pooping in their pants too, what happens if we aren't forced to see them every 3 months to get our pain medication, as is required by law. What happens to their income? They are scared.
I agree with almost all of what Polis had to say in his presentation but two items he mentioned I would take issue with are, one, his statement that marijuana can be harmful (01:33) and two, his alarmist tone (07:00) (albeit possibly for effect) about the "spiking" of marijuana potency and comparing that to nicotine in cigarettes. More THC/cannabinoids per sq/in of plant material = less plant material smoked or if vaping, less need be consumed = lower cost for patients.
