We'll be getting this pretty soon here in Denver. Scripps bought KMGH and other stations from McGraw-Hill. This would be better than what's being currently used.

During the newscast it doesn't look too bad... but the wide shots during the close show that it's kinda dated. The graphics are meh. not my fav. I don't understand the lines/dots in the open. it's like er?

at 1:23 ... the video paused before it played...you could see the reporter doing his countdown...and it looks like the reporter was shooting his own standup and interview. Total crap.
I quite enjoy the new Scripps graphics and music actually, though I do think there should have also been a blue version (for the stations with blue logos). I really like the closing cut WEWS used here too!

I agree with you on bringing back Eyewitness News. In 1990 when they went NewsChannel 5 and in my opinion go back to Eyewitness News in 2010. From what I see it not bad, but WEWS is the first tv station in the state of Ohio to be on the air first, and your product should look first rate! Scripps needs to invest in a better state of the art HD set for WEWS
Scripps needs to do HD sets for a lot of its stations...not just this one. Seems that most Scripps stations have had the same sets for 5+ years now! WPTV here in South Florida has had the same set since 2000.

They've cheapened the looks of all stations with this poor excuse of a graphic package.
WXYZ 7 in Detroit had the best graphics of the group before they all went with this look.
Best news music, too.
Urgent, and breaking.
Now it's just another TV station.

Haha there is a typo in the first part of the "Cleveland Public Power" promo - there's no extra "r" on the end.

I personally want the "Eyewitness News" name revived. Heck, "NewsChannel 5" been so de-emphasized over the past year... why not?
That being said, I love this execution. A few tweaks here and there, but they did a very good job.
What wasn't immediately noticed with these changes was at 2:24 - Ted Lux joined WEWS as the station VO. Very good to hear.

I'd like a set overhaul, too. And a "Power of 5 HD" logo update, too. Just doesn't fit with new look. They'll do it in time.
