  • You can all bitch about being stationed in North Dakota but at least you know after a few years you will be going someplace else. The rest of us are stuck here!! Born and raised! God save our souls!!!!!

  • @mpvolbrecht: thanks for your reply. Its good advice. I am built for hard work and I have nothing but time

  • I live in So.Cal. cant get a job willed to me. Its Labor Day 2011 the No.Dakota boom is looking good to me. Have wool and an Astro Van, will travel.

  • @mike184ever1 If a job is what you're looking for, North Dakota is a great place to be... it's one of the last places in America where you can have a working class job with middle class pay. If you work in the oil fields, you can make VERY good money but you work long hours in horrible conditions.

Honestly, work in an oil field for a little bit and go to school. Idk how anyone can make that job a career. Also, college in N. Dakota is rather easy to get into and relatively cheap.

  • I lived there in the mid 1960's and moved to Germany in 1967 or so. I lived at 307 E Spruce Ave and went to Kindergarten and part of 3rd grade at Twining Elementary. I distinctly remember the blizzard we were in what 1964 or 65 or somewhere in there. Great memories. Thanks for the pics...

  • Thanks for posting! We lived on Redwood Ave from 79-84.I was almost 8 when we moved to SC. The poles in the basement made me laugh. I used to try and climb them. I was told stop that or you might fall and crack your head open. lol Good times!

  • wow fagggg!!!!

  • Thanks for posting!! We were stationed there 1994-1998 and lived on "J" street which at the time were re-locatables that were given over to the Indian reservations shortly after we left. Don't miss that snow or wind at all, but definitely have great memories of our time there - son born in base clinic in '97, camping @ Devil's Lake (& other places, but can't recall names...lol)...but also not so great w/the flood of '97. Enjoy your time there!! :)

  • i lived at 1765 B Iowa St. from 1966-1971, when i was ages 6-11. i have never been back and have wondered what the base looks like now---it looks the same! your images brought back many memories but the one thing that jumps out is that painted metal pole in the basement. i taped pictures of the monkees our poles--ha! thanks SO MUCH for this. i got to show my 2 daughters where mom lived as a kid. much luck to you and thanks for your service.

  • good luck with that No Dak wind and the long drive into town. Don't forget your at the most powerful thermonuclear base on the planet. And it could be worse, you could be in Minot.
