This song is about pain-A pain I know only too well- My wife left me after 17 years after losing 100 lbs and found someone else-the absolute torture it is to see someone you adore who does not give a damn anymore about your feelings and crushes your will to get up everyday comes through in this song. @TheMickeyHenry i felt that pain the first time when i was like 4 years old. I got abandoned twice in one year. Drugs where no option at that time ;D so i concluded that i will never love again ever. From then on i've protected my heart and soul for noone to enter ever again. Not until 4 decades later i've learned eventually to feel the pain again and how to let it go and not to be afraid of it anymore. It's not that bad once you learned to let go.
