Because this exercise is exhausting! So the class is split, and to the music, first the ladies do 16 jumps, then rest while the gents do their 16 jumps. So they take it in turns. If you do the whole class all the way through (it's available for download from DanceClasscom), you'll see this. Enjoy your dancing!
awesome their pointing their feet while in the air without her even mentioning it! love it! although personally when i teach beginners sautee's i normally tell them to keep their hands on their hips so they can concentrate more on their feet instead of placement of the arms. great video though
It is never too late to get into dancing period,no mattter what genre. I have been a bboy (breakdancer for 3 years. I am back in school and decided to minor in dance. Ballet is of course a required class Even though it is EXTREMELY hard I like it. I am 31 years old, I did not start dancing untl I was 28. The hard work from the urban side has helped somewhat but nothing compares as far as control to ballet in my opinion. Well always remember "its never too late!!!"
I really like this teacher, she is very good at breaking the instructions down. She is far better than those other instructional clips on YouTube, namely Expert Village. LOL
it is possible to start ballet at any age. at my dance studio, we have beginners from the age of 2-68. it is possible to become that flexible, but it will take a lot of determination and work.. but it is definately possible. you may not become AS advanced as someone who has dance for their whole life, but dont become discouraged! there is someone in my class who is 36 and went on pointe this year. try checking out some local dance studios to get started. =]
or it could take 2 years or 1 yr. My teacher said that if i take two ballet classes a week i can be on pointe in one year. but i have tow ork extremely hard. So it is possible some ppl have been n point for 3 monthsa nd danced for 5 months before. But that jus them
wow...that teacher is pretty good but those people arent that good. And um...if thats a beginning ballet class than why is that one girl wearing pointe shoes?
Flat satin shoes with ribbons? Is that about as bad as parents who bring their little kids to beginning ballet (or gymnastics!) and have them dressed in a tutu?
why were only the ladies allowed to jump?
