I also wanted to ADD - no civilization worth its salt uses RADIO (slow), within 100 years of having the technology. They use Quantum Entanglement Transceivers. My take is...If we do find interesting life, such as inside Triton, there are no stresses to create intelligent life forms. We may be the only 'stewards' on this side of the universe.

Finding intelligent life is going to be very hard. (technological) Most mobilized life is going to be similar to animals on Earth. That leaves man to make his own morality in space. We maybe the only seeds of intelligence for eons.

Imagine an alien species is currently recieving our TV broadcasts, they would have to decode them and decipher them, to try and understand what we are sending. Even if they were far more advanced than us, who's to say that they use the same sort of information transmitting/recieving that we do? I would imagine it would be very hard for other, even very advanced lifeforms, to figure out what the hell these bits of broadcasts are, without the right decoding technology.
