Lol, don't feel bad. It took me 6 months to get to the post-game with 4 out of 7 Action Replay cheats enabled. I haven't won the full game twice in a row yet, and I got it in March. Boss #2 is overdoing it a little though. It took me 13 minutes to beat him! :P

You have to pick up a Bob-omb with Perry(the parasol) and then right before it explodes, jump so that the explosion hits Bowser's eyes. That's the only way to hurt him.
