burgers..? As a kid in the latter 1970's I fell in love with the vanishing seeburg original consolettes..they were already being

replaced by the digital keypad ones. You really had to hunt down the obscure diners that still kept those '52-'60 models up and

runnning, but I detoured lots of family road

trips and dragged us into all of 'em!

The story I heard suggested that Carl was inspired for this song by a bad date. The girl was more hung up on her outfit & paid no attention to him. At one point she said "do what you want, just don't step on my blue suede shoes". Where was SHE when this record came out?!
