  • Very talented at the guitar! Seeing that you are in a band already, do you know if any of your friends that play guitar are interested in forming a tech death band? If so, you can leave me an email at jaasko91@yahoo.com

  • I was browsing my old LastFM user and I stumbled upon this. I don't know how I could forgot about you, shit is awesome

  • shit. that was mental, but i would never choose to listen to it in my life? how can you go from jazz, classical blues etc, to playing like this? they're all about tone & melody, but i don't understand the concept here? is it just go crazy & see where it takes you? haha

  • @TakingBackScott

My concept, at the time, was chaos and unpredictability. This is not something which is easy to like. There is no red line in the sense of a melodic theme to be found here. When I made these old songs, I tried to have a progressive outlook; never going back to a riff. The "riff-salad"-approach is something i have always enjoyed.

  • @Corpseifier much thanks for the reply, sorry mine is late. i would love to know if you've moved on from this concept? as this is for enjoyment like you say, it now makes much more sense to me, especially if you get a feeling of originality from it, which i would imagine is the aim if your aim is to never repeat a riff? can be hard to come across playing guitar sometimes. keep playing, keep loving it man.

  • fuckin a man! thats intense

i've been looking to start my own tech death metal band but nobodys willing to try shit like that no more

  • Great job

  • After 10 seconds of watching this, I subbed.

  • You have to Be the Guitar to be technical Chuck Schuldiner had the Know how !

  • you must shit awesome.

and i am truly jealous of the CD collection.

  • boring

  • I surely hope Cannibal Corpses' Vile album is somewhere to be found in that collection. Is it?

  • HEY WTF U DID WITH YOUR VIDS? :((((

I can't find em anymore onto your channel

  • hey man ive been playing for 5 years and im like stuck in this melodic metal bull crap. i want to learn tech, but i dnt know where to start. can you please give me some pointers on what i should learn, where i can find it? scales, proggresion what ever, i know hardly any theory, i just dnt know where to start, i can sweep a little but idk, any advice would be helpful. i show your video to every1 im a big fan!

  • @patoneill100

My advice is an easy one: with no challenges you will not improve. Try to create things that you find challenging to play. This way you will always progress. Remember that there are no rules. Don't listen exclusively to death metal, because that will kill your creativity. You should listen to intricate, complex and creative music: jazz, fusion, prog, classical, blues, ambient, funk, metal, instrumental etc. This will allow you to use, steal ideas, or get inspiration.

  • @patoneill100

For technique, John Petrucci has an excellent book called Rock Discipline. You can even find the videos on youtube. He takes you through all basic techniques: alternate picking, arpeggios, sweeping, legato, building speed etc. There are 100's of books like these available.

  • soo this is what buckethead looks like without the stilts and costume...

  • This must be what people with down's syndrome hear in their heads.

  • i downed this after laughing.

    great playing corpseifier though

  • man best song of corpsfeier ;D

  • This shit is nice. This is what technical death metal is about. To all you haters learn the difference between Death Metal and "TECHNICAL" Death Metal before you talk shit and leave negative comments.

  • its called TECHNICAL Death metal for a reason people, its not supposed to have the same feel as regular death metal because its not regular death metal

  • Yes.

  • great job, liked it

  • I suppose that makes you the winner?

  • @Corpseifier are you study in a conservatory?

  • @gucciassnigga GTFO!!! this is really great, i really like the tech metal, and this sounds very technical, nice job dood.

  • You have a lot of CDs.

  • This is not what death Metal is about at all.

  • In which case, I prefer this.

  • Its a little too fast for my taste.

The drums sounds incredibly fast, like a lawnmower at times.

It too fast and mean. I like Stryper. Soldiers under Gods Command is my favorite album.

Second favorite is Legion by Deicide.

  • What scales do you use?

  • it appears as if he doesn't. It mostly looks like chromatic patterns.

  • goddamn dude that was really fucking tech, nice job.

  • Awesome man fucking brutal

  • hails!

    great fingerwork and riffing

  • damn dude i like your style

  • Too technical for me,but wish you luck!

  • Makes me think of Dying Fetus, but better.

  • how does it make you think of dying fetus???

  • He has a very similar(but better) tone, and the riffs have a similar structure.

  • amazing stuff, my friend!!!! your ability and talent is amazing. cheers!

  • @ thatonekifevan

youre nothing but right.Theres so much ability behind, but no concept...

People!!! Watch more ORIGIN!!! Youre on at least the same level! Do ORIGINal Death Metal and become more serious!!!

  • It is just the way I like to play.Of course, this is an old song by now, and maybe today I would have tried to make something less spastic. My "concept" is really just to embedd a large variety of ideas, and never to use an idea twice. That is why I do not stick to a conventional song structure, the kind of structure that "makes sense". I do not find it enjoyable, it works for others, but not for me. Regarding origin; good DM musicians, but, personally, I do not like their music.

  • yes origin even i personally dont like it .. but Nile hell yeah !!

  • i 10000000% agree with what you said, i loved the song, sounds kinda sleep terror, might just be the drums making me think that. i write tech death music too and i never try to repeat an idea or use a conventional song structure.

  • Agreed. they were precise live, but Id have to say after finishing listening to thier newest album it does get very repetitive. Though people say that about alot of bands (including Necrophagist?????) Kudos on the shredding

  • @ 2:20 just awsome.

  • competely astounding and beyond compare. this vid is a gem in the world of technical death metal and thrash.

  • its good talent, just not a song.

  • Dude, I don't know if I should ask a surgeon to put my jaw back into place after that unbelievable shredfest or if I should cry because my cd collection isn't that big(yet)?!?!

  • Fawkin' awesome dood

  • i think you are a fucking bitch....

if you dont like it you can hear abba or something like that..or manolo escobar..

o xke no te komes un mojon de mierda kabron de los kojones ijo puta.

  • go listen britney if u want melody....fu

  • probly another metalcore fan

  • this is so sick! why havnt i heard of your band before!?

  • its fucking insane

  • Cool techniques, dude. And you've got a nice discography-).

  • you are seriously ridiculous. I love your death.

  • This owns! no matter who you are! my hat goes off to you man, sounds great!

  • how to compare death metal technics with ZZ TOP !??! dumbass culture none... this guy got a great technik just suk him and shut up -_-²² and learn guitar after you ll try to speak about pinkushon ²²²²

  • i don't think it's too technical or chaotic at all. and i adore brutal noisy gore grind sludge as much as technical death. it's a guitar & a human being: combined to let the metal flow. those ZZTop guys did their thing with the axe; now it's time for Corpseifier to do theirs : D

  • this song fucking kills!

    great technique!

  • Yes!

this made me so fucking happy.

  • fuckin' awesome !!!!!

  • This guy rocks! just check out the immense colloction of cd's in the background, his impressive guitar and stunning technique... and all this in the kitchen (see the microwave in the upper left?) ye that's the way \m/

Now seriously, delightful display of skills, thumbs up.

  • Dude you are a fucking awesome guitarist....I just think at points it is a little too technical. And its not like I don't like tech death. I like bands like spawn of possession, deeds of flesh, psychroptic, odius mortem, decrepit birth etc. Maybe for some future recordings just a smidge less chaos and just a hint of structure, like in Engulfed by the Sun, because you have a unique style and I would like to hear it with good production and vocals someday. Keep up the good work

  • wow corpsecake 56k veiws you're getting there

  • kinda stale sounding, but really good playing man

  • Check out his MySpace page. Better audio & more complete presentations. Cool stuff!

  • great playing and cool song 5/5

  • hahaha i love this song :D

those scales and taping xD very nice song btw

  • youre fucking good man

  • Comment removed

  • Actually I think the image just got flipped...look at the wall behind him. He's still nuts though.

  • AMAAAAAAAAZING!!!

  • Brilliant ,but a looooooooooooooot of demonstration try to make good music.

  • haha! can´t stop laughing at how fucking loose this guy is playing! he makes it look like he´s playing a chilled bb king solo or something. Truly great player!

  • Fuck...brilliant....a true musician

  • Very original sound riffs!

  • AWESOME =)

  • what´s the key of this song hehe?

  • I really like what I hear on your MySpace Page! Excellent! I don't miss singing AT ALL!!! I opened a 2nd window to type this because I'm still listening to the 1st Song on MySpace! I love it!! 2nd song is starting now! I want a CD or quality download soon.

  • Whacky & Heavy (like I like me women)!

  • Quick Fingers, Corpseifier!! I see & hear Tri-Tone chords, too!!! Cool!!

I have an SG-Style DeArmand 7 String guitar in the attached video response. My Singer is Reverend RIDIN' DIRTY JEREMIAH WRIGHT. I did the music in Apple Logic & I basically play air drums, air guitar & air bass, but on non-air instruments in the video. Doesn't my singer kick butt?

  • You pause to much. Why. Cause you played everything. If you know its coming up, the pause, play the theme in triplets, slowly. You'll be praised later. I also agree with the harmony jazz guy as well. I'm a drummer. Trust me.

  • put some jazz harmony and will sound perfect

  • Jazz & Metal Mix?!! That sounds wild!! Ellington & Voivod!!!

  • This is fucking awesome. Keep on rocking, man!

  • Fucking nice riffs but you sound like Necrophagist, but it's fucking brutal!I'm looking forward to buy something from you guys!

  • Fucking brutal!

  • it was his destiny to shred, after his face is vanished from the face of this world, humanity will look back and recognize him as one of the greatest, therfore he will still be alive forever

  • Ace as

  • Fuck I cant stop listening to this... I think Im addicted...

  • get a band man you rule

  • Wow, dude. I wish I could find a guitar player like you to start a band with. You are a rare breed. I play bass and sing. I am moving to Portland next year to start a melodic tech death metal band, and if I can find someone half as good as you, I'll be happy.

  • That is amazing. One of the fastest most complex things that I have ever seen, and I'm into all that crazy death metal stuff. This song is sick.

  • This is that shit that some people hate. I like it but its really a huge wank-fest.

  • it reminds me of cryptopsy....

  • No structure... Nothing melodic, There's no point in this, random riffs only :S

  • Not supposed to focus on melody. The random thing is called Time Signatures. You wouldn't understand... you're prolly into stuff like Dark Tranquility, In Flames, Arch Enemy etc (of which I am a fan of) but this is complex stuff and its not easy to understand and handle.

  • Fuck these guys corpse, it takes music psychology to do what you do. The right notes to do at times, HELLO. Your good.

  • this guy's a fag

  • you're a fag! he know how it's hard to create a one-of-it kind of death metal!

  • yep, i know cause i used to like that shit, wich is indeed music with no sense and really easy to make. make a random time signature with weird ass locrian blues sweeps in em and you'll get the so called tech death metal

  • Good for you... you must be extremely talented then. Be so kind as to spare us lowly fans your wise preachings of this being "random" kind sir since we seem to be people who like this "random" thing...

  • it sounds like a shiton of random notes. and yu'll agree .

  • I disagree strongly but thank you for your rantings but I guess the rest of us are just too retarded which is why we like this music. You on the other hand must know everything there is to know about Guitar...

  • It can be called Techno Death or Technical

  • no...it's either called tech death or technical death metal. some might call it mathcore or math metal, even tho mathcore is way better music that this shit.

  • Mathcore better than this??? You sir are daft!!!

  • Y'know ..

even death metal needs feel, and it needs to feel good

and have some musical basis, i love technical death metal but this dudes just hitting random notes fast ..

  • Great Techno Death song!

  • wtf

  • what do you mean?

  • No, I was commenting someone else. I forgot who. This guy is a monster.

  • lol ok

  • very good technic but only technic where is the heart in music?

  • monster!!!

  • Good playing great stile

how many CD do you have ???

    xD

  • Super badass... Killer style.

  • Yeah, you've got sick skills, but I"m not into the music.

  • Man you must have a degree in music theory or something. Your knowledge of timing and phrasing (not to mention execution) is damn near perfect!

You should do some instructional videos. Even just give us an idea on some exercises that helped you that would be much appreciated.

GL to you and your band. \m/

  • but does it sound good? :P

  • Yeah it sounded very good-- a little disjointed-- but of course it wasn't a full mix we were hearing so maybe the bass and (vocals?) would help tie it together.

Some parts really reminded me of Psyopus and a few were very Dillinger-esque. If that's what you had in mind then mission accomplished :)

  • i dont think so :P just alot of random notes. witch make no sence. thats not hard to make but to play. It reminds me of how my head feel the day after Ive been on a party, having too much boose.

  • good job cheif

  • Cool shit dude-

    nice playing.

if you into Watchtower check out

    thethinkingprinciple on myspace

or Inner Sanctum UK band from 90's who kicked ass!

    Latrz

  • Reminds me of Sleep Terror. Pretty cool.

Playing = great, Tone = crap.

  • Dude you have serious playing skills, no doubt about that. As for the actual song, idk it just didnt really sound good, although starting at 2:20 it sounded really good. Keep playing though

  • yeah..i like technical..but when its sound good..Sorry dude, i dont like what you do lol but anyway its very technical..i just prefer tech deathmetal like necrophagist !!

  • I'm sure someone else has asked this but what guitar do you use. Ibanez RG 370?

  • He's using exactly the same guitar as mine, RG 370 DX

  • rock n roll dude ! you play good dont stop

  • fuck Herman Li sucks for christ's sake, look at Fredrik Thordendal, or both SikTh guitarists or even Chris Arp of Psyopus, THEY'RE great guitarists, in fact there's a whole load of guitarists i can think of that shit on Herman Li from a very great height

  • dude don't forget paul ryan!

    Origin REPRESENT! fuck yeah! /,,/

oh and the guy from psyopus is good too :]]

  • I've seen all your videos, and I notice you dabble on some Astronomy topics. You wouldn't happen to study it as a hobby would you? I really find it interesting myself.

Your songs are really sick, and they inspire me to write technical material as well!

  • Yes, I find the science of astronomy very interesting. I am just a novice within this field though. I am currently taking my masters degree in Geography, and maybe I will try a ph.d as well. Secretly I find astronomy more interesting though haha.

  • I would just like to first tell you fuck that OXiiG3n kid you fry the shit out of herman li, but as for your music i think your staying too high on the guitar neck, thats just my taste though, you still are amazing at guitar

  • Herman Li sucks bro and this is just sick.

  • herman li?

kid, put down the fucking guitar hero before a death metal kid beats the shit out of you someday.

  • great riffs...best genre of metal...

  • Many cool riffs.

  • fuck dude...bad ass guitar player!

  • I now like Corpseifier

  • Dude when are you going to get some cds going? I've been waiting for an album ever since I first your videos like 2 years ago. There must be a drummer out there that could learn your stuff too. Even if they live too far away and can't tour, they could still record the drum tracks and send them to you if you gave them the click tracks. I'd do it if I was good enough at drums.

  • You are right. I should get off my my ass. I just kind of lost motivation, focus and such about 1 year ago + I have to take my studies a bit more serious. Since then I have hardly touched a guitar, all though I have a 8-10 min song almost ready. I would like to release something at one point, but I am in no hurry. I am sure something will motivate me again. Sorry :(

  • I know how you feel, I've been wanting to start some projects for two years now and I still haven't got round to it. Anyway, no rush, but if you do release anything you can be sure that I'll be buying it (there's some motivation for you, MONEY!). All the best.

  • thats alot of cds

  • amazing

  • Boooooo!

U play guitar way better then me!

  • Really hot! Id love to see and hear more of yours stuff! Awesome!!!

  • Really hot! Id love to see and hear more of yours stuff! Awesome!!!

  • Stunning tech playing :-D

  • Awesome shit.. sounds like a lot of drum rudiments in the picking.

  • Yeah, really "Corpse-ish" :D I can imagine you playin with CC,you´d fit in great...pitty u havent got a band vid...faved btw...I also love to write more tech death/doomish things, but dont have a band to play it cause i play Blues rock w/ them...

  • Nice work man :)

I can really see the way Cannibal Corpse has influenced your music.

    Definitely tech.

    Keep it up!

  • Oh shit that was awesome!

  • Very weird, but also very cool.

  • holy fuck thats nutts dude

  • holy fuck thats nutts dude

  • its called deth metal cause when u listen to it, you wanna kill yourself

  • I call it that because I wanna kill people like you. :)

  • LOVE THE TIMING CHANGES
