Any strings are good for open tunings. I emailed RK about the heaviest strings you can put on this model and the reply was a low E at .016 gauge (this would be open D or G only). I tried a set on this guitar but it was overpowering for the guitar and the tone really went muddy, I didn't like them at all.

Those strings are suitable for Open G Tuning?
I see from D'addario website that those are standart tunning strings...
