  • These guys did an Australian tor with AC/DC in 1977

  • They had the superb vocals of Mick Pealing back then and of course Mals great licks. The one thing they didn't have was great songs clearly illustrated by this garbage. Luckily one of Australia's greatest songwriters Andrew Durant joined the band and the result was argueably one of our greatest bands.

  • Randall Flagg on vocals...

  • One of those new Oz country rock artists should pick up on this one and give it a spin

    Leslie

  • Very well-done rock band. Reminds me of Foghat.

  • who was the lead guitar ?

  • @wgooda That's the great Mal Eastick on lead guitar - still touring.

The late great songwriter Andy Durant joined the band later as rhythm guitarist.

  • I remeber as a 15 yr old living in the NT putting my tape recorder in front of the radio to record thisone..lol. great days

Leslie ..now a 49 yr old

  • I agree. Australia was seriously rocking in the 70's with world class rock bands singing original songs - think Stars - Thorpie - Sherbet - AkkaDakka etc

  • still great, stil rocking

  • angle park high in 76 i think

  • lol didnt know australia and zealand were rockin in the 70's...although i guess no worldwide notoriety.....hmmmm....good musicians though...

  • @handonrip Australia gave the world AC/DC... how could it not be obvious that something was going on down here with a band like that?

  • @nzoz1976 LOL What a LOON!

  • @handonrip

Fuck me man, no tougher crowd to please than a 70s Oz (and probly NZ too) pub crowd. Bands back then earned their dues or died in the arse.

  • Played at Taperoo high in 1976

  • the best

  • THESE GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

  • best band ever. shit yeahhhhh

  • Is that a young Graham Thompson on Bass?

  • you mustve gone to the same skool as me

    @pymats

  • How underated were they !. They were to sophisticated & clever for the pop world. It's too bad good music is not popular in Australia. Mick Pealing still sounds as good as ever.

  • SPOIT PN BRO

  • @ukuleleph yeah too right brother, same as jimmy barnes. they stuck it up molly and got shit canned for it. stars had a huge folowing back in their day. rock on brother

  • mullets and flares, yep that's australia in the 70's

  • @podoz it was almost the uniform, miller shirts, skin head cardigans, slicker shoes aarrhhh good times

  • ....& didn't the band just hate the title "Rock 'n' Roll Cowboys", that they were given at the time.

  • I love the ending from around 2:40, really rocks.

  • saw this live at school, it rocked back then and still does!!

  • A very young Mal Eastick on guitar...

  • Used to see these guys all the time at an unlicensed disco in Adelaide in '76. Excellent.

  • legendary Oz rockers

very status quo sound on first 3 singles

  • beeb birtles produced this single. great adelaide band. they played our high school back in 76. great band.

  • i saw these guys live supporting the Angels and hush they were great memories. thanks for bringing them back. John Farnham modelled himself on these guys i reckon Stars indeed

  • @mrpuniverse2 .........

Indeed Mr Puny.......John Farnhan reckons Mick Pealing is one of Australias best voices and along with Braithwaite i would have to agree with him.....Mick still plays gigs in melbourne and STILL sounds the same !!.........

  • @southernrocka Saw Mick at the Fleece in September.... fantastic!!
