No, the comic book is part of an entirely different story, with Daniel Cross as the animus user instead of Desmond. It takes place long before Desmond was captured.

They need to bring out more. Maybe a world war version and some of the commanders are Templars that are using the Nazi war machine to search for ancient relics, which thet sort of did anyway.
