@MultiShitsandGiggles I think they're stock standard rims, only you don't normally see them, as they usually have cheap plastic hubcaps on them. Police remove the hubcaps, and when they are sold at auction they put the hubcaps back on.
My dept is getting the US versions of these n fall 2013. USA calls it a chevy caprice/pontiac g8, UK calls it a Holden. A 365 hp V8 rwd car like this will be a big change from the slow crown victoria.
lol only just realised when the thumbnails were side-by-side, the NZ police cars look exactally the same exept orange not yellow, as the Western Australia highway patrol cars. ive been to Auckland, Dunedin, Rotorua, Leeston, Christchurch and Wellington but i dont think i've ever seen a HP police car. are they the same except the rims?
@xXJeeXTeeXAyeXmanXx I live in WA now, but haven't seen any HP cars that look anything like the NZ ones. All NZ cop cars since 2008 have the yellow and blue livery, as have all the HP units since 2001, and most of the HP cars are SV6 models with rims.
@THEAUTOGUY09 Why? they offer more space yet have the performance of a sedan. The alternative is an SUV, which don't handle as well... The traffic cops here use BMW wagons and Volvo V70s, both of which suit the job perfectly.
when i watched this video my heart was severely pounding, i almost had to close my eyes it was so intense

I heard from somewhere that the police use those rims because they're the only ones that fit the run flat tyres they use.

No offense , but they have bad rims :O

@Trunkyard Haha true! I think these police rims are wider than the stock ones that the car comes with.
The Highway Patrol cars get alloy wheels...

@thekiwicanuck and its more cost effective and easier to replace than having vehicles with different size tyres and different rims.

@thekiwicanuck haha that's cause they don't have side walks to kerb them out on the high way lol

I doubt it, I was like 50m away through a bus window. He would have been waving to a vehicle that made way for them.

You sure isnt wasnt your bus thzat had crashed thus it was idling :)
dmmmac2 2 years ago
No, I probably wouldn't still be it on if it had! It was idling because traffic was gridlocked by the crash...
