  • wish i was little enough to do this.

  • hahaha whats the cutoff age/ weight for this? it looks so awesome!

  • 15 people dont ride lambs for fun

  • @QueenSnowballa, your arguments are both non sequiturs. You are ignoring my point about training. Horses & adults aren't analogous to sheep & children. Kids ride horses, with training, by experts, in extremely controlled circumstances. To my original point, any horse that a child would ride is a domesticated animal that has been trained to accept riders. This training offsets the size and strength. It's still dangerous, and cruel, just not quite as reckless. Trees are entirely beside the point.

  • Those last two comments are idiotic.

  • I grew up loving riding and rodeo. But now I see that these things are cruel. I've worked on a ranch in Montana. I've seen things done - not so much where I worked, but at other ranches, that were impossibly cruel and inhumane. Putting children on animals who are not capable of being trained the way for example, a horse is, not to mention many times faster and stronger than the child, is lunacy and very dangerous. Or don't you consider broken bones child abuse? Some injuries can be life-long.

  • @FountainScribe Are you suggesting that horses aren't stronger than adults? And are you also suggesting that if I let my kid climb a tree and he falls and breaks his arm, I'm a bad parent and should be arrested?

  • @FountainScribe

Mutton Bustin is a blast for a kid, I did it myself at Houston Livestock show and rodeo. Child abuse? LOL You're just scurred.

  • @BrainsForViral It isn't just child abuse, it's also animal abuse.

  • @BrainsForViral PS - this is not to say that I wouldn't have loved it when I was little, because I would have. It would have been irresponsible for any adult to have let me, however. Responsible adults don't let kids do dangerous things, even if the kids would enjoy them. It's called "parenting."

  • that kid @0:21 did very well and could of kept going if the lamb hadn't run into the flock of other sheep.

  • I loved mutton-busting when I did it in Tennessee as a kid! It's great fun!

  • @kuehnau: um, as opposed to passive-aggressive liberal douchebags who post anonymously on the internet?

  • @jkewish Are all conservatives supposed to be "rednecks" then? Faggot, lol

  • @0Dist : idk, you shouting "faggot" sure seems to confirm it. It doesn't matter where you live, it's how you act that makes you a stupid redneck.

  • @jkewish wait, what does being liberal have to do with it?

  • @jkewish : That's assuming that rednecks assholes don't post anonymously on the internet too.

  • Stupid fucking rednecks..

  • Greatest. Ever.

  • fake

  • that's hilarious.. how much weight can a sheep hold though, i wanna try it

  • Ain't nothin' but some mutton bustin' !!!

  • I'm here because of The Cleveland Show.

  • I can't WAIT till my son is old enough for this!! Heck, I wanna do it too!!

  • this looks like fun my husband did it as a kid and ours will probably do it to I think it looks like the kids are having a blast doing it

  • I am 20. Can I do this?

  • @Monkeyspass

    yes ...ofcourse .

  • @Monkeyspass haha, thats just weird.

  • haha this is awesome, i wish i could have done this as a kid. parents nowadays are way too protective of their kids. i'm 26 and i'm glad i grew up in a time and age when kids were allowed to fall and get hurt and experience life growing up.

i got a feeling the kids nowadays are gonna grow up to be the biggest pussies to ever walk this earth.

  • @kps142 go ride a bull .... its fun ...

  • It's all fun and games until junior ends up like Christopher Reeve

  • @moonmatter Lol...love the sarcasm!

  • @moonmatter

ABUSE?? Give it a rest, there's no abuse. You're an idiot.

  • My son is just about the age to get into this. I can't wait. he is so excited!

  • @Randerson0808

how old do u hav to be??? it looks so fun!!!

  • Next they'll be saying that kids shouldn't be allowed to run during recess....... Oh wait, some schools already don't.

Fuck safety, give your kid scissors and tell the little fucker to run a marathon, it'll make for one hell of a story.

  • @CrimsonToast LMAO right on

  • Hicks rule. Looks alot safer than riding a bike in a neighborhood. Way too many helicopter parents out there hovering over their kids. People like that are the reason why this country is going soft. Buck up and stop whining.

  • LOL at the fucking idiots talking about responsible parenting. Yep. What a shame it is to have their kids riding sheep in a rodeo.

Funny thing is, it's safer than high school football.

  • How the fuck did this become a sport?! LOL

  • It's only a foot and a half of a drop... doesn't hurt. This comes from someone who busted for fun ONLY and therefore never had a helmet or body protection.

  • Careless? Go fuck off. I'm not a 'hick' but i understand that your over exaggerating. They fall 1 1/2 - 2 feet into loose dirt. Neither sheep nor child gets hurt. The only cases of injury is when the kid accidentally gets trampled which is less than a 5% chance. They also wear protective gear, Helmets, pads.. etc.

  • Figures, a hick wouldn't have any knowledge of MOMENTUM... so pathetic. Did you finish high school? If he lands the wrong way, with that kind of momentum there could be severe spinal cord injury, broken bones wouldn't be out of the question either. Regardless, rednecks are the only type of people who would recklessly endanger their children like this. That, or people like you who never took elementary physics in college/high school.

  • Example 1: Sheep speeds up to 6 miles an hour, kid falls off into soft dirt w/ pads. Kid lives w/o injury. Example 2: Sheep speeds up to 10 miles an hour, Kid; yet again, falls into soft dirt w/ pads. Kid lives w/o injury. Buddy, not one case is there where a child has broken his spinal cord, or damaged it severely doing Mutton Bustin'. My last example, Skateboarding, snowboarding, biking, swimming for Christs sake, is more dangerous than this. If you don't believe me look at statistics.

  • And what makes me a 'Hick'? I'm sure its better than someone who has problems leaving his computer, I don't have to add a 3 in my youtube account name as a substitute. for an e. FYI, I've finished grades k - 12 and 4 years of Gonzaga University. I majored in Engineering Management.

  • I would rather our kid do mutton busting too! As for Rodeos, people take great care of the bulls and horses, they are feed well and live out in green pastures and only have to work once at each rodeo. I wish I had their lives. If it was cruel, don't you think that the law would come in and close it down. And most people wouldn't put up with unfair treatment to animals. I know I wouldn't. Also the partipants wouldn't do what they do if they didn't love horses and bulls.

  • I would rather my kid be mutton busting than listening to rap music, watching MTV, hanging at the mall, or walking around with sagging pants.

  • Listen up rednecks! There isn't and never was any such thing as a cowboy. Get over it.

  • Everyone loves cowboys ... wasn't aware this was a 'redneck' thing?

  • I usually just get them close to a cliff so they have nowhere to go and stand in back of them........

  • I did this when I was little and it was a blast!!!

  • oh screw you who thinks this is animal abuse!! the kids weigh maybe 45 lbs at tops and they wear hemates so they won't get hurt. this is great!!

  • Animal abuse AND child abuse! How fun!

Wait, no it's not. It's DISGUSTING.

  • I don't think anyone is forcing children on these sheep ... and I know I would have loved to have had the chance to try that when I was little. As for animal abuse ... I suppose you think the sheep are more happy be standing in a corral waiting to be turned into chops? Sigh ...

  • i think he/she means it in a other way.

the same with rodeo with bulls. bulls are normaly not agresive. they make them agresive. 0:30H befor the rodeo/bull fight. the putt the bul in a small cage and then they hit him /give him electric shocks etc. then they get agresive.

  • @bassiejnl I am not here to argue but bulls are mean my husband used to work on a farm and he jumped an electric fence to get away from one and it used to charge tractors

  • "I don't think anyone is forcing children on these sheep"

So? They're young children! They don't know any better.

There are people who share drugs with their kids without forcing them, does that make THAT right?

Adults are supposed to be more responsible than that.

"I know I would have loved to have had the chance to try that when I was little"

Yeah and some kids love to bully other kids or burn cats....doesn't make it right.

  • You are actually comparing little kids involved in 'muttin busting' to ... adults or parents offering children drugs? Like people have mentioned ... animals involved in rodeos are highly expensive and a treated with a lot of care most pets in the city could only dream of. These same 'irresponsible' people are those running the muttin busting. The comparison is crazed at best. And you compare me to a demented cat burner bc I wish I could have done this? I suppose elephant zoo rides are wrong 2.

  • Lol, yes elephant zoo rides are wrong you fucking spaz, elephants are wild animals and kill and injure people regularly, it's all over the internet. Not to mention how cruel it is; just thought I'd say something about the human side of it and how unsafe it is for people as you're most likely one of those people who doesn't give a shit about animals.

  • No I'm afraid your wrong. I happen to love wildlife. Elephants and animals in zoos is another debate. I suppose you think the zoos are just risking lawsuits and throwing young children on elephants with no concern for safety, just as these local rodeos just love lawyer fees in court ... nah, they don't care about safety, it's not like they have protective clothing and have personnel around ... oh wait they do. Guess you are one who thinks you have to shun humanity and eat grass to love animals

  • OH YEAH, they give people those tungsten suits so that is the elephants stand on them they're not crushed don't they?!?

NO. They don't- how much good is a member of staff going to be if a HORSE goes mental, let alone an elephant?! No good at all!

  • Geeze. Research shows that if kids engage in "dangerous" activities they're better adjusted as adults... listen to any 50+ y/o reminisce and they'll talk about broken bones and climbing trees and cattle tipping...

  • Just saw my first mutton busting competition at the Houston Rodeo this week. What a BLAST!!! This is the most adorable sport any 6 year old can do!

  • This is wrong.

  • You're wrong. This is awesome!

  • Why is this not on TV?!

  • Because the Department of Children and Family services would have the parents in jail before intermission.

  • that last kid is a champ

  • I'm a meat eating Democrat and I enjoy mutton busting. I do not believe in aborting babies, but I do believe in a woman's right to have an abortion. I also that kids should ride dogs to practice riding. Finally, when everything is said and done, it all comes down to this one basic truth: NIXON'S THE ONE!

  • I SO MISS DOING THIS!! I used to prefer this to running Barrels as a child!!

  • one word: H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S.

  • All the kids in my family were in that and my sister and I won! it was awesome!

  • Murder?? How on earth did you sneak THAT one in there?? You see a kid wrapped up like a pillow riding an animal that closely resembles a pillow for five seconds and now all of the sudden Republicans are celebrating murder? Have you ever stopped and listened to yourself? I guarantee it's scarier than mutton busting.

  • I am not talking about rodeo as murder I am talking about hunting. Majority of republicans are the animal abusers (rodeo) and killers (hunting).

I feel what you are doing is not only abuse on animals who are terrified but abuse on the child. The sheep rolls over the child I have seen the video. How much does the sheep weigh? You think maybe a child rib caged would get crushed??

  • First of, these kids are doing that becuase they want to.

Seccondly, the sheep is hardly being abused. If you call puting 50lbs on a back of sheep and let ting it run around abuse, what do you call eating a hamburger? Murder?

Oh yeah, I forgot. That is what you called it.

Better a meat eating republican than a baby aborting democrat, if you ask for my opinion.

  • Hey, quit it with that republicans this, republicans that talk. didn't you hear that the age of divisiveness has ended? anyway, democrats enjoy mutton busting too. i mean, i do anyway.

  • For all those rodeo haters out there i want to let you know that most animals work for about 5 min in a year the rest of the time they are in a pasture. Also every Cowboy and Cowgirl I know who is worth a shit will go without medical help in order to get there horse treated. Also most animals in rodeo's are worth a lot of $ trust me no one in a rodeo wants to hurt them then they can and usually are fined!!!!!!!!!

  • I guess cockfighting is out of the question then?

  • What kind of stupid sport is this? How dangerous! The rodeo ppl not only mistreat the animals, but to young kids as well!

  • When I was little I begged my parents to let me do mutton busting & finally they gave in. I LOVED every minute of it and won quite a few ribbons & trophies. It makes me laugh when I hear people describe me as being an "abused child" for it. I have yet to hear of 1 serious injury from mutton busting & I have never heard of a sheep being harmed just from running around an area.

  • Maybe some wanna try it but most of them are just young n have no idea what they're doing. Danger i mean is like what happens if they get trampled? n mistreated animals r not the goats but horses n bulls calves n steers. the animals used in rodeos.

  • So, I guess cockfighting is out of the question?

  • What does it gotta do wit rodeo?

  • Have you ever been to a rodeo? Most of the stuff in the rodeo doesn't hurt the animals. Plus, the events are based off things that ranchers would actually have to do. So you'd have to say that ranches mistreat animals, also.

I've never heard of/seen a kid get hurt while mutton busting, and I've seen the event at LEAST 11 times in the past 11 years.

  • Horse bucking mutton busting bull riding is ranch work? I dun think so. ranchers will rope a calf n gradually bring it to a stop. In the rodeo, they'll do a dead stop, bring the calf to an instant stop, resulting in either a broken neck or getting seriously hurt. Rodeo ppl treat the animals like crap at least ranchers have respect 4 em

  • I think the only injury I've heard of is a kid slightly cracking a collar bone. nothing serious.

  • Sheep don't stampede, and they aren't nearly as heavy as say, a horse or cow.

  • Mutton Busting ROCKS!

  • wow, some of those kids were really good! that would be pretty fun
