  • that action looks so clean and smooth, I'm guessing that is a collector's grade? I mean there looks like there is absolutely no slop what so ever in the bolt, and it just looks magnificent man, I am envious :) and I wish my Yugo mauser had better tolerances, but I'm pretty sure mine was just assembled with random parts as some of the serial numbers are either ground away or don't match

  • NICE NICE!!!

  • tempted to say "dear santa ..." (:

  • Im looking to buy a k98 but all I can find are yugo M48s. Is there any real difference between the two?

  • I've heard that sometimes the bolt won't eject the stripper clip an it will foul up the rifle, is this true or nonsense?

  • how does it work when you have the scope mounted on the gun?

  • @marchovens you have to load them one at a time

  • @marchovens it does not usualy withe a scope ur not looking for fast .. mostly hitting the target

  • Safety Sallies hold on to your panty hose! Love it. ( I plan on using this, thanks ahead of time.)

  • I'm glad you load it like this. I thought I was the only one who both did it this way and believed it was cooler :P

    Gotta love that ping

  • Will this work with a Mosin Nagant?

  • where did you purchase yours rifle from? I was looking at mitchell's mausers but i have heard some bad things about them passing off knock offs as real k98's. any thoughts?

  • Thunderlike sound when it shoot.

  • I dont want to fuck up my chargers thats all. This in no way effects the clip?

  • i play call of duty and u are correct about the ping im not sating im addicted or anything but i am thinking of get this gun in an airsoft version..with shels and everything. will this still be loaded depending on the type of airoft gun?

  • Most people dont do that because they buy either federal or Winchester ammo which does not come with stripper clips. Besides most people dont even know what that notch is for.

  • Where do you get your stripper clips from or did it come with the ammo? I know the Romanian surplus comes with its own stripper clips.

  • You know, I never did know that, I've owned my Yougo for close to 12 years now and I always thought ramming the bolt forward would murder my clips, it doesn't deform or damage the clips at all does it?

  • I know it nearly all bolt action rifles are designed so that you push the bolt forward to eject the stripper clip but most if not all soldiers would simply remove the clip and keep it with them so that they can load more rounds onto them

  • loading a weapon indoors is stupid

  • Mauser ping = oh shit.....

    M1 ping = ah shit!!!

  • a yugo k98 ? i see the yugo creast.

  • hi,would u plz offer me the blue print of mauser?size, detail ect.

  • In Soviet Russia, ping doesn't mean you reload clip, it means you fire at Americans

  • Damn I want a K98k Mauser. Mainly the furniture and the barrel length are why I prefer it over other Mausers but Germans know how ti make a good mauser. The only Mauser I've fondled is a Vz-24 and it felt like shit.

Another thing. Among the havoc of a battlefield a "ping" can seldom be heard. US WWII vets who were asked about this said they found no trouble with it.

  • Almost right - see the thumb notch in the receiver? Push the rounds down with your left hand.

  • not to be a stupid fanboy, but if you play cod 5 then ull see how they ram the clip over when they done reloading

  • your smart loading a rifle in the house.

  • I'm just starting to save money up to get one of these amazing guns and i cant find a good one anywhere, any suggestions?

  • I reuse my clips & don`t like having to bend down to pick them up, when I can just put them in my pocket. Saves on wasted motion

  • Hearing the M1 "ping" means that the rifle is empty! Hearing the Mauser "ping" means that the rifle is loaded... ;-)

  • @Wildschwien that would have been good info to the german that was waiting for a good opertuinity to bolt

  • @harrier331 Yes. But I think the whole "ping" story is an anecdote somehow. I don't believe a soldier in battle would have the time or repose to listen to these sounds.

  • All these people talk about damage to the clips. Sure, it eventually damages the clip, but those things are a dime a dozen. A lot of ammo comes packaged in them anyway.

  • i know the safety is on but either way you shouldnt chamber a round, especially cycle a who clip. its a bad habbit i think.

  • Where'd you get your Mauser from?

  • NIce rifle.

I am glad you made this vid...but how can anybody mess loading this rifle up.

Have a 1895 Chilean Mauser, got a sexy Yugo capture k98k on the way.

My Spanish S.clips will work for both[nice brass ones].

7mm Mauser and 8 mm Mauser same size bottom of bullet[forgot name].

    Thank you. PS..That ping is loud,just like M-1 .

  • I want one of these, I hope to find one sometime this year after I find a job.

  • Does this work with the VZ 24 Czechoslovakian Mauser?

  • @ThePechanator2 Yes...Any Mauser with a stripper clip guide.

  • @murpheysmuskets Awesome, didn't know if there would a problem due to the difference in the mag follower design. Whether that would make a difference, I don't know. I just tried it and it doesn't ping, just flips out.

  • both pings ment the same thing to a ww2 gi though. m1 garand ping means your fucked, and a mauser ping means your fucked

  • The stripper clips you have are great for this. brass is softer than steel so there can be really no damage done the the rifle. some surplus ammo has steel stripper clips, like the romainian stuff. this could potentially scrape up your finish. wouldn't advise this technique on an all matching k98 or an oddity; although they were designed to do this. push down as far back on the shells as possible on sticky clips, neck pushing will jam them.

  • I need to get a k98!!!!

  • Ah the k98! Love that rifle. Not as much as my k31s, but the k98 is one fine instrument of war.

  • when you hear an m1 ping it means start shooting at who ever has it, when the k98 pings it means you are about to get shot at...lol i hope to own a k98 within the next two years

  • @ixVENGEFULxi If you want a good one, I would find it as soon as you possibly can. Unfortunately there drying up. If you're interested I can pm you some little known places to find really good ones in the $350 range. That's the cheapest I know of. Later bro...

  • @murpheysmuskets i may have to when i get my tax return although i should spend the money on something els but we will see. thanks alot for the heads up and i just may have to

  • @murpheysmuskets Cheapest around is Rguns...but you have to buy the barrel-action/bolt and stock set separately, then "piece" it together...cost is about $330 plus shipping (and FFL transfer, unless you have a C&R lic)

  • @murpheysmuskets i bought my brand new mosin nagant at widners reloading in jonesborough tn for $80 thats gun, sling, mag pouch, oil can, and bayonet. but thats because i picked it up where there located lol. 440 rounds of 7.64x54 for 80 also lol

  • @murpheysmuskets what are these magical " k98 sellers " you speak of man?!

  • nice does that damage the stripper clip

  • @josephd27 No...

  • @murpheysmuskets well yes it does i own one and if u constantly do that the clip will eventually break. it happened to me a few times.

  • you just schooled everyone xD

  • I wants a K98 now, even it is just for the ping!

  • @jamoore3192 I would get one before they get even more expensive! Plus you would like it a lot better than that Enfield. The k98 is a mans gun! :)

  • @murpheysmuskets LOL! Hell, I got man guns! There right between my elbows and my shoulders! I don't have enough experience with Mauser actions to say if it will beat out the Enfield. I'd like to find out though.

  • @jamoore3192 Are you kidding? I have shot many thousands of rounds through both and I can tell you for certain. The Mauser hands the Enfield its Ass and sends it back to England begging for mommy. lol. Seriously though in the dirt and the mud the Mauser wins every time.

  • @murpheysmuskets WELL CRAP!!! I guess I've got a Lee Enfield No4 MkI for sale now!

  • @jamoore3192 Lol. This weekend or next ill actually have time to make it to the ranch and I'll get some video of me shooting my k98 at different oak trees ranging form 1'-3' thick. 8mm Mauser goes through them all like a knife through butter. I'll also explain were Enfields come up short in the reliability department.

  • Doesn't that ruin the clip though??

  • @LefteyeRighthand No...I have done it hundreds of times :)

  • that is a sweet rifle

  • Sweet rifle, So hard to find now in that nice of shape

  • I'm flaging this vid because it shows a gun. JK lol safty Sally. She's a buit! Thanks for putting this message out. Hopefully k98 fans will find it. What year is yours and dose it still have the swastikas. Mines a 44 from chez republic off d-day as a souvinere. Made a great hunting rifle for my grandpa until I rescued it!

  • That is beautiful mauser

  • I'm just about done with my review series on the Mauser Kar98k, and I mention both correct loading and the ping lol. Problem with the ping is that with a Kar98k, a ping indicates a fully loaded weapon, rather than the opposite :)

Also, the finish on the rifle is so shiney, you could probably use it as a reflective signaling device lol.

  • @something01992 Looks like Tru-Oil to me, and it's freaking beautiful up close!

  • @jamoore3192 I think it looks great, but it's so shiny lol. The bluing is real nice, my rifle has nearly all the bluing worn off.

  • Nice looking weapon :)
