@frozzenwater im a professional machineist and ive done 100 disks ..Everything can be machined, you just need the right cutting knives. If you get a chance someday go take a look at a CNC or manual machine how its done...He probably charge you a beer or two..A car shop like this will charge your over 100 bucks-
We cut the two front rotors on this car today in my Auto Class. The machine, similar to this one, left them soft and nice. Unfortunately, my friend went out for a spin to test his brakes and he couldn't grasp a turn and ruined his whole axle , lca, and wheel...lol. What a day!
.0005" at a time really would take a longtime! They must look like a mirror! Must take alot of patience to make 100 passes just to remove 1mm. I had to take off 1/32 from each side- That would have taken about 75 passes on each side. Do you have a CNC setup? 8 hours+ is alot of time for 1 rotor might be cheaper to buy new(unless labor is super cheap)
wheres the chatter belt?

it depends on the material it is made of. Some rotors can not be resurfaced.

Sorry to hear that. After performing a brake job you should drive the car and et the brake pads before any aggressive driving/braking

Only if the cuts were deep. we cut rotors 0.012 of a mm at a time. this may take long , but you will get a smooth cut
