  • Ms Novak was at the top of her stardom in this film. A Columbia star who starred with Judy Hoiday and Jack Lemmon in Phfft, the sleekly beautiful starred in Pal Joey,, BellBook and Candle, Middle of The Night and most memorably in Picnic, The Man With The Golden Arm, and most Hitchcock's mastepiece Vertigo.

    The Notorious Landlady was Novak's last film at Columbia and was top billed over Lemmon and Fred Astaire. Quine and Kim Novak also made the haunting Strangers When We Meet at Columbia
