@37wester -You should be happy and feel real fortunate. That year Daniel missed the weigh-in by 4 pounds. If he had made weight, we would have won easily. In that championship game, the score was 6-0.

If you were looking, at 1:39 another player bigger than Daniel comes into the video. In any case, you can look at Daniel's 2009 video if you want to see him dominate in public school and select football. No matter who is on the field, he still changes the game for everyone on it including the coaches.

The organization is N.T.Y.F.A. and represents all of North Texas. In this organization, the ball carrier is limited to 120lbs. Daniel made the weight requirement to start the season and finished the season a little over 150lbs.

Last year was the first time Daniel desired to run the ball. He had played DE and center in all of his previous seasons. So when he decided to run the ball, he began to use a low-carb diet to lose the weight. As soon as the season began and only having to weigh-in one time before the season, he got back on a regular eating regiment. He exercises with light weights so he was taking plenty of powder protein. His natural weight was around 150-155lbs.

In Texas, kids are grouped by their age. In this league and most others, they have a 120lb weight limit for running the ball. You cannot move up or down depending on weight or age. You have to play in your age group. Daniel met the 120lb weight limit and he is playing with other kids his age.

As of today, Daniel is 12 years old and is going into the 7th grade. In his previous school (intermediate), he graduated as the top student as a 6th grader. If he was older, he would not be allowed to play for NTYFA as a running back, linebacker or any position for that matter nor would be eligible at his school academically in Mansfield, Tx. They have all proof by legal documentation. Simply, Daniel is a gifted athlete and scholar. He competes with his peers-plain and simple.

Dominated at rugby for at least 5 years then everyone else developed and he got dropped from my first team. wat im saying is this kid is clearly amazing but its difficult to have true prodigy in physical games like this.

There shouldn't be any reason for Daniel to stop growing. God-given genetics determines how big a man will become. Our family has big men and our physician agrees that he will most likely be a big man too. I don't think that comparing him to an old friend from school is a fair thing to do. What are the odds that he will wind up like your old pal from school? By all accounts, he should have a promising career in football if he chooses to go in that direction. Thanks for the comment.

I think the best thing to do is to acknowledge that if he continues to grow and applies himself to the game that he will have a future playing football. He certainly exhibits the talents to play the game. If you read his bio, he wants to attend seminary school at TCU. He is apt to get a scholarship for his academics as he would on the field. Daniel just turned 12. At the end of this season, he weighed 155 and is 5'4. The league that he plays in had a 120lb limit for running backs. He went on a diet in the summer of 08, and got down just under the limit, but put back on weight within a couple of weeks. He played in the state final at 152 lbs. He is real big and real fast! He runs track and has never lost a race. We are of hispanic origin. I saw your boy on youtube. He looks really good! Keep up the good work!
