Should I join the Church of Satan ?

I delved into Satanism a bit in my younger teens because I loved its philosophy of the individual. I ended up getting out of it because I thought the some of the things within the organization seemed rather gimmicky and detracted from the message of it that I really liked. A few years back, I got into Ayn Rand and was very surprised about the similarities but I preferred her anti-spiritual, anti-theistic attitude.

Satanicinternational I think you just have pride in power of control and listen to cheap gossip. It's cheap . Things happened but you have no ideal Anton was a very sexual man and he did not do like you think he did. It's cheap gossip makes a good story and gets attention. I love it when people who claim to be "CoS know it alls" forget that the CoS was NOT established as a "get together lets congregate group." It has become an organization were people join to show their appreciation of Satanic philosophy, to gain recognition for their personal accomplishments. Its never been a set up as a Social club. The fact that people are bitching about the fact that they wanna meet other satanists so damn much, but cant get it in the CoS need to go back and do some research.

You are right on the mark man! Before I opened my eyes, I had a priest of all people tell me that you don't need to go to church to be a good christian, or anything for that matter. It's how you live your life on a day-to-day basis. This is actually what made me start reading about all religions(including the Church of Satan). And eventually the Satanic Religion was the more realistic one to me. I commend you for your honesty, and enjoy hearing what you have to say, keep it up brother!

I like the idea of a temporary group with a specific objective, say, the performance of aritual or festival or live event; then when the project is complete, the group is dissolved. Or: a training group which runs for a specific time, say, a year; and then dissolvesor ha 'periods of activity' and of intentional 'silence' (inactivity). But these projects are all of a temporary nature; otherwise, you get problems, IMO.

I was considering joining a few years back but realized the exact same thing you just stated, i really didn't need a card to know that i was a satanist. Because honestly i was born a Satanist, we all are, some just haven't tapped or viewed that side of themselves. But we shouldn't stop there. Satan demands study, not worship.

Boyd Rice would have been a MUCH better frontman for the COS, even Marilyn Manson could do a better job then Gilmore. Considering, he has done more for the cause.
