  • @tarino99 lol how would we know.

  • Different flicks... A MONTH OF HUNGRY GHOST is a real documentary about the "ghost month" in Singapore... English/Chinese subs throughout on DVD on Amazon.

SEVENTH MONTH is a narrative horror film by the guys who did BLAIR WITCH, that borrows the idea of the "ghost month" for it's story.

So I guess with both, you could watch the indy docu & the Hollywood fiction narrative and totally get a "ghost month" fix... good times.

  • isnt the English version of this called:

  • Is it a documentary??

  • u really make a gd director! it doesn't seem scary from the trailer. i m actually a timid person n is afraid of horror movies but i m really interested in this documentary. Would it be advisable to watch this movie?

  • If you are even remotely interested in Hungry Ghost Month, I think you will definitely find the movie interesting and enlightening. It is not "shocking" scary or gratuitous at all. It is all real and the characters are quite fascinating. Some people tell me that some scenes are spooky... but it will not scare you to death or anything. ;)

  • well not really scary though but i tink if we watch de full movie i tink it might be a bit scary

  • dun really seems that scary??? just about the festival thats all?

  • which date is it going to be this year?2008?

  • 7th lunar month in 2008 will be from August 1st to August 30. Easy to remember this year - basically August. Planning to have my film completed and possibly screening in Singapore for this year's seventh month.

  • will do^__^ nANYTHING 2 keep ma AZN pride UP!

  • oh btw.. wuts that music called in english? the music starting at 2:02..? oh and if you speak canto can u help me translate this to english? "siu suk man juk"i think its a type of dance or song

  • Music at 2:02 is a mix I created with samples from music I recorded at a Taoist ritual in Singapore's Chinatown. As you probably know, some Chinese funeral and ritual music can be quite loud and chaotic... so I just took smaller samples and looped/mixed them together to give the music a more melodic and catchy vibe. I've actually created a number of other music tracks for the film in the same way using many Chinese instruments and samples so I'm considering packaging a soundtrack CD.

  • There is also a section in A MONTH OF HUNGRY GHOSTS focusing on Hokkien GETAI performers and the music and vocals are quite catchy so I might try and see if those performers are interested in packaging a CD. Meanwhile, you might want to check out Royston Tan's narrative film focusing on two getai singers, "881". Get back to you about the Cantonese.

  • alright thanks very much! and awsoem job! if possible id like a copy of your soundtracks please?...but im in canada..ummmm just send me the downloads so i can download it up on my i pod ! thanks again and i wish u great luck!

    peace!

  • No luck with the cantonese translation of "siu suk man juk." Will try and update on the soundtrack potential. Thanks for tuning in.
