  • thank you very much for the upload.

  • Haha, Ive not even been to Japan (going this Aug.!) and I already know Iam a Gaijin! Anyway, Uehara was a national treasure of Japan, my Sensei was good friends with him. His memory is to be honored and respected.

  • @Lady0Lela0the2nd doesnt matter if your blue or purple.

Gaijin if you have the heart....in Budo we are all equal...there is no such thing as belts, ranks etc..

there are hobbists and there are warriors...that is all.

  • Beer for good health! Recommended by the master himself! lol!

  • J.Yeagley, Anyone reading your posts sees that you were rude to a 90tr old man, and you said didn't like gaijin, insinuating he was racist and said he was arrogant. How you knew this is unknown since its obvious you dont speak Japanese. That I called you out on those points has obviously irked you which is obvious based on your childish posts. I base my opinion of the man because I met him, spoke to him in Japanese and my American friends married 1 of his family and knew him very well.

  • According to RyuShikan, gaijin = foreigner. According to Google, theres about 6.6 billion people in the world that meet his definition (the majority). As 1 of over 6 billion gaijins, I deeply resent being lumped into a singular group without regard to diversity or individuality.

  • From Yeagley:"I deeply resent being lumped into a singular group without regard to diversity or individuality. "

Well Yeagley like it or not that is what you are to Japanese, so complain to them about it.

  • Jeff's comment:"He also has a huge ego and is not particularly fond of gaijins." You said he wasn't fond of "gaijin" (gaijin=foreigners)...meaning not of the Japanese/Okinawan "race"....thereby calling him a "raciest"

  • I had no idea that's how your pea brain interpreted that. Are you a total cromagnon?

    gaijin = foreigners

    foreigners = me

    me = personal insult

Doesn't mean you can jump to conclusions and just play the race card like that. Now I'm beinning to think you are a cretin with the mind of a flea.

  • You logic is flawed adding and you are back peddling.

  • For weighing in with my opinion I have been called an Ugly American, Racist, Internet Thug, and so on. Obviously Ryushikan is preaching a cult of exclusion. Do we really want someone like him teaching martial arts in the USA? Think about it.

Thank You. I am Jeff Yeagley and I endorse this message.

  • Yeagley I have quoted your own posts showing that you are rude, presented yourself as an "Ugly American" while abroad, and act like an Internet Thug because I called you out.

  • Yeagley..Bloody Hell! Every time you respond to something you look more and more like an "ugly American"! Yes, I agree with Ryushinkan, you were extremely rude and acted in poor taste when you met Mr. Uehara. Nobody really cares if you think his demonstration wasn't up to your standards. I would also like to see something you can do so we can compare it's worth.

  • LacrosseABC, Ya Yeagley is a piece of work alright. It's sad that we Americans let people like him out of the country to represent us overseas. Thankfully their aren't that many.

  • Yeagley, you are all those things and now you whine because you got publicly spanked by Ryushinkan. I don't live in the US but I would love for him to come teach in the UK!

  • LacrosseABC, BYW it's RyuShiKan not "shin", that's some Aikidojo unrelated to what I do. If you are serious about getting together in the UK let me know, I plan on going there in the near future.

  • I did some research on "Jeff Yeagley". I found 2 that have a connection to martial arts. 1 lives in Lees Summit MO and is a "Master" of TKD, and 1 lives in S. Cal. and his highest rank ever earned was "san kyu" = 3 levels below a black belt,in Seidokan Karate. Seidokan was founded by Tomo Shian, a former student of Uehara Seikichi, the man in this video. How interesting.

  • How very interesting, however I am neither one of these two people you mention. I am not affiliated with any dojo or any style. However, I have trained in Uechi Ryu, Shorin Ryu, and Go ju ryu. Nope. Sorry. You strike out here.

  • Ya it is interesting since the Jeff Y. I located lives in S. Cal. has the same spelling of his name, is the same age and is interested in martial arts. Again...the irony is just too much

  • Sorry. I'm sure these Jeff yeagley's you mention will be flattered to know some diabolical geek is checking their backgrounds but alas, I am not he...I've also taken kenpo, BTW. Forgot to add that.

  • Your fanaticism is too much. I disagree with you about someone and so I'm an Internet "Thug" and an "Ugly American." You paint with broad stroke of brush. I would hate to be a student of yours. Any disagreement might mean certain death...

  • Ya, let's got thee. 1st you used your in depth social graces to tell a man almost 100yrs old to his face that his karate sucked, and added he was a racist. I agree his performances were not realistic, but for his age are pretty amazing he can move at all. Most people would never insult the man to his face though. I disagreed he he was racist and then you started in on rant/diatribe filled with taunts. Plain and simple you're a loud mouth thug.

  • American is not a "race" doofus, it is a "nationality." I said he didn't like "Americans." YOU are racist because you just implied that America is not a melting pot of many races. Now I see how infantile your REALLy are. What, are you 10 years old?

  • Never said it was a "race". Learn to read.

  • You said "racist" liar. YOU are the coward because you can't tell the truth.

  • If you want to keep this discussion going please learn how to read....and understand what you wrote.

  • Another condescending command from the mount olympus of your mind. Your voice echoing god-like from the top of the world, "If you want ...then you must do..." you really do feel like you are above mere mortals, don't you? You are a megamaniacal internet stalker.

  • SO Jeff Yeagly when can we expect to see an mpeg up here of your great technique?

  • You are not yet ready, grasshopper. Yeagley-ryu is only for the very serious martial artist. You would need to take a 12-step program in removing foot from mouth first...

  • Ya, I figured you would have some lame excuse as to why you were unable to post yourself doing any technique. A typical cop-out by an Internet Thug.....

  • Ya, Ya, andf your dog's bigger than mine and your daddy kicks myr daddy's butt..you are an infantile hypocrite whining about imaginary "thugs" that don't agree with your itty bitty woerld image world image. Grow up

  • Well judging from your own admission that you taunted and berated a man that was near 100 telling him his techniques suck I think I have proven my point about you being a bully, and your obvious dislike for me calling you out on it here coupled with your taunts, name calling, and over all childish attitude reinforces my point. Just keep posting..You are your own worst enemy Jeff.

  • You just make it up as you go along, don't you? YOU are TRUTH's worst enemy. I never said I taunted anyone. You distort facts like you're running for a government office. People like you are America's biggest threat.

  • Actually I just quote you...time and time again.

  • Well, you just lost all credibility with me. I cannot debate a liar. You said "racist," I didn't butt head. And now you want to deny it. I enjoyed this until you began to lie. So goodbye.

  • Jeff Yeagley,

Pointing out all your discrepancies in your comments is really getting old. I suggest you read more carefully before you post. I said Uehara wasnt a racist and factually documented that you insinuated he was a racist. You called someone a racist, not I. You purposely drift off topic when I asked you to pony up with evidence.

  • I said he didn't like Gaijins. That does not mean he is a racist. I don't like peas but that doesn't mean I don't eat vegetables. Where did you go to school, the electoral college? I hope you can do kata better than you communicate you water headed retard.

  • Gaijin is Japanese for "foreigner" or someone that isn't Japanese, not like a someone of another race is racism.

  • There you go again. Claiming to read minds. "Your purposely drift off topic..." How do you "know" that? Are you a god or a man? Methinks you have delusions of deity as I've said before.

  • Uh....it's pretty common knowledge to people that speak Japanese & English that "gaijin" in Japanese means "foreigner" in English...it has nothing to do with reading minds

  • Duh...According to you then, genius, over 6 billion people aregaijins, I deeply resent your cult of exclusion and will not drink the Kool Aid you serve, Herr Ryu-ster

  • According to Japanese and their lang. anyone that is not Japanese is a gaijin/foreigner. What is so hard for you to understand about this?

  • And do it quite badly, time and time again. You should lose the "actually" it sounds too stiff and formal.

  • From Jeff Yeagley:"Perhaps because I recognized this and chose not to be obsequious--because I refused to buy into his dream sequence--I was treated differently. A gaijin should not have to be obseqious and should be allowed to call a spade a spade." Ya, so calling him a "spade" (ie telling him his tech wasn't good) wasn't rude/taunting him?

  • Ah, so you are a "misquoting" Internet Stalker then? I didn't call him a spade you numbnet. No child left behind must not have worked for you. Calling a spade a spade means telling it like it is, it is not a noun. Save literary analysis for those with have an education, alright? Your Eng Lang is somewhat unrefined.

  • I didn't misquote anyone....it's plain to see that fact. I am throwing your own words back in your face and you are now back peddling.

  • Mr. RyuShikan contends that I studied under an Okinawan guy who was once a student of Uehara. If that were so it would imply that even those who learned his techniques—either directly or indirectly—feel he was a little off. I dont think this is the point Mr RyuShikan really means to make yet this is the irony of ironies. Thank you, Herr Syu-ster

  • I wasn't implying that in the slightest.

  • When you learn to disassociate your ego from an otherwise stimulating conversation and when you lose the Messiah complex> Your preaching about what constitutes an ugly american and an internet thug is childish.

  • A typical move by an "Internet Thug" like Jeff Yeagly is when they are starting to look stupid they sign up under a different name and start posting comments. Case in point: Quynh362 joined posted their 1st post just after Jeff Yeagly's last barrage of insults/snide comments. What are the odds of that being Jeff Yeagly under an new account?

I would say better than average.

  • Internet thug? Just because I disagreed with you? Your conspiracy theory is as bizarre as your other comments. I regret I do not know this Quynh362 because she sounds feisty.

  • Yup. Internet Thug. It's fine to disagree, but your comments and insults can only be viewed as that from an "Internet Thug"

  • I have never seen such an unabashed display of sanctimonious piety in all my days, Herr Ryu-ster. I disagree so I'm a "thug."

  • And you, the Internet God, so decree? How very Alimighty of you, Herr Ryu-ster. Or should I call you "Big Brother"?

  • Not Quynh362? Ya right, Quynh362 joins within minutes of your posting here and the 1st video viewed and post made by Quynh362 is here and uses the same sophomoric style lang. you use....how ironic.

  • What are the odds that you are a poo poo head?

  • Based on your sophomoric comments I must be right about who you are

  • Based on your kindergarten comments I "know" who you are. A self-proclaimed deity of the dojo and the Internet. I'll bet you voted "yes" for prop 8 too, didn't you? Friek.

  • "self-proclaimed deity"? Sorry, never even hinted to such a thing. As for "prop 8" I had no idea what that was...so I GOOGLED is. It's obvious you are trying to deflect the heat away from yourself by bringing up totally unrelated topics. Again, a typical Internet Thug tactic.

  • Your right, you didn't hint. You outright demonstrated it, as you do now. You feel superior by trying to limit what people have a right to say and then call them names like "thugs" and "ugly americans" as you stalk them. Again, a typical megalamania tactic.

  • Oh you feel "stalked" do you. A "Paranoid Internet Thug"...

  • You research all the Jeff Yeagley's in the USA who are involved in karate and then try to ferret out where they live. Yes, you little weasel, people like you give me the creeps. You are an Internet Stalker.

  • I think people on this mpeg would love to see you demonstrate your MA skill. If for anything else to compare it to Mr. Uehara so they can see what they are supposedly missing.

  • Oh do you now? You are so omniscient that you can just see right into everyone's mind on this mpeg? That's a neat trick. Is clairvoyance something you also teach as a dojo deity?

  • Jeff Yeagly is the typical s#$t talking "Internet Thug" that will freely talk smack about anyone but when asked to "pony up" and demonstrate his own level of proficiency makes excuses as to why he can't or lashes out with snide comments or insults. So Jeff Yeagly, let's see some of your technique. Just do some technique that you think is good and post it on Youtube so we can all enjoy it. That is unless you are just a coward.

  • LOL. Taunts and name calling will not win me over, "Sport."

  • Not taunts...just stating the obvious. "Trolls" like you have been exposed time and again on the web.

  • I like that. I do look like a Troll. You are getting warmer and more human all the time.

  • Jeff Yeagly is what's known as the "Ugly American"abroud. Unfortunately the US Mil. has a few of them, not many though but occasionally one slips under the wire. I am sure Jeff Yeagly's branch of service, unit CO, and friends were all deeply impressed with his rudeness and cultural sensitivity while in Okinawa when he told Mr. Uehara in his late 90s that his technique "sucked". How proud they must have been to be associated with Jeff Yeagly.

  • You are right. Ever since that day over macho grande when I lost the skipper and my tail gunner "Spudz MacKenzie" I have been unable to look back...I should try and win one for the Gipper and your grandpa, Uehara.

  • I have seen this guy in action before at Ginowan in Okinawa when I was stationed there in 1990-1994. I haven't seen coreography that stiff since Ruby shot Oswald. While it is cool that someone this old can still walk and move around, the coreographed fighting is just that...coreographed. He also has a huge ego and is not particularly fond of gaijins. I think people should know this.

  • "He also has a huge ego and is not particularly fond of gaijins"? I never got that impression and I knew him and met him several times since the late 1980's and he always seemed down to earth and friendly towards me and other "gaijin".

  • What? No comment on the coreographed, over stylized "performances"? Perhaps because I recognized this and chose not to be obsequious--because I refused to buy into his dream sequence--I was treated differently. A gaijin should not have to be obseqious and should be allowed to call a spade a spade.

  • Didnt Im required to comment on his demo. No disagreement here about choreography. Never liked his demos, but he was 90 old. My teacher (Oyata)was training partners with him back in the 50s and said he was no joke. Ever see their full-contact sparring? Ever join them? I can see by your attitude why Uehara must have not taken a shine to you. How nice of you to go up a 90yr old and tell him his technique sucks. BTW Its not obseqious its obsequious & not coreographed but choreographed.

  • This got cut off from the above..."Didnt know I'm required to comment on his demo"

  • So if you are a "gaijin," why the strange monichre "Ryu Shikan"? Are you one of those "pink samurais" we hear so much about? Or are you just a wannabe Uchinanchu?

Do you know Japanese or Hogan even, Mr. Ryu?

  • Well sport if you really want to find out more about me feel free to visit my youtube videos OR join karate-budo(dot)com and we can discuss this further. And yes I can speak Japanese and some Hogen....

  • "Sport"? LOL. What is this, Happy Days? If you like "Sport" or choreographed "performances" then I will spare myself the visit. More likely you speak Hulk Hogen since all it takes is an old guy putting on a show to impress you. I'm old but not THAT old.

  • Jeff,

Perhaps you would care to grace us with a demonstration of your martial skills. Maybe then we can understand how much better a martial artist you are than a 90 year old.

  • You say, "Didnt Im required to comment on his demo" Even when you corrected yourself you forgot the apostrophe. Should be, "I didn't know I was required to comment on his demo." You also say, "but he was 90 old." That should be, "but he was 90 years old. My spelling might suck dude but your grammar is horrible.

  • Nope, trying to save on the limited space were are allowed to use to post.

  • There is unlimited space between your ears. Why not post there and spare us the whining?

  • My gramma still does full contact dancing but I'll spare you the sight (lol). As for my karate, I do not give "performances." If you want a "performance" you should watch WWF or some other such spectacle.

  • Ah....just another loud mouth that won't sack up. No surprise there. Well, thank God all American GIs in Okinawa don't behave like you...ie a jackass. Just wondering, do you speak Japanese? Uehara didn't speak English so I am just curious.

  • Bakana hito. I am surrounded by them. Take you for example. Your childish rhetoric is typical: I can kick you butt, my dad's bigger than your dad, you are pathetic. Big meanie American GI's, blah, blah, blah. Do me a favor and call 1-800-WAAH! You have more testosterone than brians, tomodachi. Atama ga kurapo desu...

    Jeff-san.

  • Ok that was brains...another type-o. So I can't spell, we've already established that. Hey, isn't this fun?

  • Well we can now see your Japanese Lang. skill is lacking as well. What's with the "I can kick you butt, my dad's bigger than your dad" BS? I never mentioned anything remotely close to that.

  • "We can see"? What, you refer to yourself in the 3rd person. Your arrogance points to a severe case of cranial-anal inversion. I've heard of Shorin Ryu, Uechi Ryu, Goju Ryu, Isshin Ryu, but never Ryu Skikan. Is this a world of warcraft character you've invented?

  • We as in the folks that comment on this thread. Ryushikan is a dojo name....which would have been obvious had you been able to speak Japanese.

  • Domo hairy gekko, Mr Red Neckko

  • Hi. I am lady who been studying Taekwondo 10 yr. Is "sacking up" a kata movement in RyuShikan? In Taekwondo this refer to how male opponent look when receive front snap kick to groin. Never heard RyuShikan. This is American style of Okinawa style?

  • LOL. Ed Zacahary.

  • Nice Bio...signed up yesterday and this is the first mpeg you watch/comment on....must be Jeff's alter ego:

  • Hey, Geeks-R-Us, It was Halloween. Maybe Quynh362 was a phantom sent to haunt you for being such a self proclaimed duche bag?

  • Like I said....you're an Internet Thug.

So have you beat up any 90 year olds today?

  • Ho hum. Get some new material friek show. Have you stalked anyone else named Jeff Yeagley today? LOL. You are pathetic

  • Jeff you are really showing everyone viewing this what an "Ugly American" you can be. You have been asked to qualify your comments as well as pony up and show your skill level, you failed.

  • "You have been asked, therefore you must..."

What are you, my Big Brother as well? Telling me what I should do or I "fail"? Again, you cop the messiah complex here. You are not qualified to tell me what i "must" do

  • LOL. I think my shomen geri would sack you up in a heart beat. Can you think of words more hard hitting than "jackass" or "sport"? What is this, the 1960's? An old episode of "My 3 sons"? OK, Uncle Charlie whatever.

  • I see, I guess calling you an asshole would be more correct wouldn't it.

  • That's the spirit. Now you are showing your true self. Although I was tearing pages off the claendar waiting for it, I'll take it.

  • And how do you propose we do this? You will send a camera crew to Southern California? Please also send the guys Uehara used to throw around in his demos so I too can inflict minimal damage all the while looking good.

  • Just film yourself doing some technique and stick it on Youtube

  • And how do you propose we do this smart guy? You will send a camera crew to Southern California? Please also send the guys Uehara used to throw around in his demos so I too can inflict minimal damage all the while looking great. Or we can wait until I'm 90 if you like.

  • Wow this guy is so peaceful. Vibrant with health.

I found him while researching longevity around the world, which led me to Okinawa and to him. I practice, and he shares great wisdom.

  • I concur with all on here, save the frog who seems to know not of what he speaks.

    A true cultural asset.

  • What a great interview. My teacher and Master Uehara were friends, and he always comments upon the Master's ability at sen no sen, or the ability to know an attack before it is physically launched.

What is odd, however, is that the interviewer sounds as if he is speaking through a voice modulator. Humorous.

    Healthy training everyone! Gambatte!

  • Uehara Seikichi was a great master who lived more than 100 years. He is a true legend. Thanks for posting this interview.

  • thanks for posting this, a true legend.
