Umm. Right. Use a traditional/longbow or even a barebow and I'll be a bit more impressed. Compounds with scopes, cams and release aids look shiny and technical but really aren't all that hard to produce results like this and the previous videos' results.
@Phantomwrks Please do us a favour and dont talk crap, lets see you hit a falling apple in front of a target then, looking forward to your youtube video... which is never going to happen.
@Jay2097 hardest no my 11 year old brother has split 3 of his own arrows already it isn't hard i have split atleast 18 i have had to replace alot of expensive arrows because of it and the bow he is using is highly accurate the fact he even missed is rediculous
@si2foo then why insult a random archer? he might not be the best but he tries and he is willing to show his ability and not just cower when someone asks them.
@Confrontationify i didn't insult the archer i simply stated how fucking easy it is but if your so retarded you cant grasp that
but if you really want me to critercize him i will he is old he is using a tool to help him pull back the string the arrow he is trying to split is not one he has fired it is one they shoved in there which is thicker then regular arrows
give me £125 and ill upload a video of me spliting a arrow im not wasting money to prove a idiot like you wrong
@si2foo Lol what the fuck kind of arrows are you shooting? Solid gold shafts with diamond nocks, bald eagle feathers, and platinum field points?
Here's how I know you're not an archer, that "tool" he's using to pull back his bow is called a release. When shooting a compound bow that's what you use. If you pull back a compound bow with your hands you run the risk of tweaking the strings and possibly forcing them off of the cams, your end result is a fucked up bow.
@Buttermilkbiscuits i love how i post one fucking comment and have to defend my self to a bunch of retards
the Release is the exact same tool my disabled friend uses when he is lazy
i dont use a compound bow and using one at that range is easy as piss compound bow is much more powerful then a regular bow and is more accurate because of it
for future note for every retard who sees this i dont give a fuck about your opinion so keep it to your self Good Bye
@si2foo If you truey gve no fucks about others opinions then why even comment back at all...? I sir dont whipe my ass after taking a massive shit... I truely dont giveth any fucks good day sir
@si2foo 125 bucks an arrow???? post a video an youll get a million views an prolly will make about 200 bucks or so. dont act like you can do this lmao
@TankP0wnz the "thing" attached to his wrist is called a wrist trigger release. The release has a clip which you clip onto a small loop on the bowstring, and you use the release to draw the bowstring back. To fire the arrow, the archer presses a trigger on the release, which opens the clip, releasing the bowstring and firing the bow. He uses a wrist trigger release because that eliminates any errors that can be caused by drawing/firing the bow with fingers (ex. plucking the string upon release)
Trick shots are mostly one shoted. But the candle and the robin hood hitting the arow test is disapointing. How many tries was it? too many..disapointing.. even the old man is feeling the same thing for himself.
@kyledbsxcwqp what's wrong with compound bows, their advantages outweigh their disadvantages almost 2 to 1 and most of the disadvantages are related to maintenance costs
@Useless02 Further more, compound bows are designed for multiplied force through mechanical advantage with the addition of let off. Any well made bow should shoot strait. Nothing to do with style or configuration.
@Useless02 accurate flight. As he aims in the center of his 8mm target, he has less than 2mm of space around his narrower shaft. The oscillation of the arrow in flight is greater than this margin for error. He hit exactly where he ment to on each shot, but the oscillation of the arrow was unpredictable. Thus, the deflection angle of the arrow in flight into the back stop.
@Useless02 oscillates under the pressure. How much the arrow oscillates in flight has to do with draw weight of the bow and spine stiffness of the shaft. There is an inverse ratio between spine stiffness and accuracy. Too little and the arrow will fishtail too much at initial flight. Too much and the arrow will tend to kick on initial flight. Both cause inaccuracy. In the middle of these two extremes is the most accurate. Flexible enough to be forgiving on its release, but stiff enough for -
@Useless02 He was aiming at a hole 8mm in diameter. He hit his mark every time. His form is impeccable, including his fallow through(in spite of being incredibly shaky for a accurate as he is). The arrow in flight is hitting the rim of the arrow at rest, causing it to hit the back stop at an angle. The reason for this is known as deflection. It is a common misconception that a strait arrow is strait in flight. As the force from the string is transfered into the arrow, the arrow compresses and -
@Gruftchiller He will shoot it, pull the bolt back, wait for it to travel around the world, and when it comes back the bullet will go straight into the exposed barrel and chamber itself.
actually...that little plastic or even metal can't protect the arrow from robin hoods...yes, they deflect the arrow, but if the arrow can be deflected, it can't do a robin hood even without a knock...
he made nice shots, no doupt. But what makes his arrow go side ways and not flying stright is due to his follow through. He press the release aid to release, and not using the back muscle causing his draw arm fling out in follow through. Compounds are meant to get stright flying arrows
With the comments here,be aware, robin hoods do happen but very rare. Most better archers have nock inserts that protect the arrows from robin hoods. It gets expensive.
There are plenty of traditonal archers that are great ones.
pff i can do all this blindfolded, w both hands tied behind my back submerged in a bathtub balancing on a wire in a tree at night when it storms during winter :p
the robin hood wasnt very impressive, but his moving target shots were tough even at the close distance. hard to figure out flight time and where that object will be from the time of release especially in such a close distance. i personally have 5 state records here in indiana and one ibo world championship and i still suck at moving targets
The nature of Monkey is IRREPRESSIBLE! To all the haters: Get yourselves a bow (any type, 80-120 pounds draw) and try to duplicate this feat yourselves. You have six arrows. Go for it.
FOlks, this is MORE THAN AMASING, and for those who write "show" ... hey,. wasn't the ENTIRE middle age a SHOW , this Apple thing and arch into arch this ALL is from REAL MIDDLE AGE TIME, the only different is, this guy is doing this in closed room in front of cameras, and not open air in front of "tournament ladies"
I think he did excellent considering he had to hit the arrow dead center when it is a few yards away and about one fourth maybe a half of an inch wide.
For those of u who don't know this guy, here is some info... He is Masaaki Sakai & is absolutely amazing + a really lovely person! He is an incredible singer, musician, actor, car racer & entertainer who loves to make people happy. He is also the guy who played 'Monkey' & did those fantastic moves with his wishing staff in the show 'Monkey' that many may remember from the late 70's. Everything i have seen him do is amazing! Smartass, no. Realistic, yes. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Great marksmanship, nice shooting. But am I wrong to think it is a bit of a show, too? Nothing wrong with that. The great shooting makes it entertaining and certainly worthwhile.
Last stage at least is fake. I used to shoot bow as a youngster, and dreaded the frequent arrow-on-arrow in bulls eye due to resulting knock damage. Being rather poor, arrows and knocks were valuable. Any decent archer would not have shot so poor a group as did this fellow.
all these ppl saying they have gotten arrows into arrows are most likely lying bunch of losers on the internet lying bout shit that dont need to b lyed about
@bahamasartits i have two sets of destroyds arrows hanging on my wall in my office at work. Ask any non-hunting archer about it and they will probably have a story for you...
@Mrarnesson Like I said, it's impressive because this is his only hobby. You just said COMPETING archers. He's not a competing archer. So give credit where credit is deserved instead of being unimpressed. That way, you'll find more joy in life.
@Mrarnesson I've got mine here. I just got my first "Robin Hood" shot a few weeks ago and it's hanging on my bedroom wall above my closet. And it wasn't done with my arrows or bow, was a club rental bow.
the guy made some good shots.ive been shooting a bow now for 29 years and ive only done it 5 times and i have all 5 of my arrows on my wall.its very diff to put a shaft through the knock and into the other shaft.i shoot alum arrows.ive busted a bunch of knocks but every now and then i get the robin hood shot.hats off to this dude for the awesome shots.but it seems to me his bow and arron combo is off the arrowsd are going in side ways.seems they are fishtailing bad.maybe his knock point is high
@highcountry74 seeing as you've been shooting for so long, what is that thing attached to the right wrist that he uses to shoot the arrows, and how does it work? thanks in advance.
Most of you couldn't robin hood a bullseye with a rifle. Even at that short range, what he did is very difficult. It's so rare that we actually save the arrows as a trophy. You'll break 20 nocks and bend half as many arrows before that happens. He didn't use 2 of the same size arrows but it was still awesome. If the arrows are the same size, one usually wont go all the way in to the other. Instead you'll have a cool robin hood looking arrow. Seen it only a few times in my life (never done it).
sque1ch, its making a metallic sound because of his arrows being drawn along his rest which i would assume is a trophy taker spring steel rest, that sound is normal in that situation...
so far I have seen three 'robinhoods', one is during parctice my schoolmate did it with compund bow in 18m distance, an other one is during competition, but that seems to be a lucky shot, the last one I can't remember...
I have seen this done with a recurve, watch korean archery - challenge the impossible to see this. that Bow needs a bit of fine tuning to get the arrows flying better. they all fly tip-high and give problems when executing the last shot.
thats not a true robin hood....the arrow he is shooting it into is bigger thn the arrow...meaning he has room for mistakes....a real robbin hood must be perfect...still a nice shot
i have to of em hangen on my wall....a robin hood has to be perfect.....an aroow tht is 1/4 of an inch in diamiter into an arrow that is also 1/4 of an inch in diamiter the one he is shoting at is about 3/4 to 1 inch in diamater maken it alot easer than the true robin hood u see exibition archers shoot
Wow. I'm highly impressed. This guy here is actually a comedian and archery is just his little "hobby". Having able to let the arrow go in the other one stuck in the wall is a very rare chance. Why? 2 Reasons: First off, please you don't have superhuman eyes that can guarantee a 100% hit on the first shot. Secondly, watch the replay, the arrow wobbles as it flies making it ultimately difficult to get into the other arrow straight on.
@latenight003 Have you ever heard about the 3-spot target face? its used because competing archers dont whanna damage their own arrows... Hitting your own arrow from that low distance is very easy if you shoot a Compound bow... i just hit in the same 3 hole about 3 times in a row on a 3-spot target face at practice yesterday...
Have you ever heard about the 3-spot target face? its used because competing archers dont whanna damage their own arrows... Hitting your own arrow from that low distance is very easy if you shoot a Compound bow... i just hit in the same 3 hole about 3 times in a row on a 3-spot target face at practice yesterday...
@latenight003 this is not very hard to do... first of all the "arrow" that was in the target it was with a much lager diameter than the arrow he shot (don't think that is an arrow, i think that was a tube with vanes glued on it) second i did it 2-3 times after an year of training when shooting more than 3 arrows form 25-30 meters in the same target and 3rd an arrow with the correct spin wobbles for about 15-20 meters in the air after that it stabilises.
You guys are sitting there saying hes not good or whatnot when...
1. This more then likely isnt his normal routine.
2. Hes probably in his 50's so it might be hard for him to even see that far.
3. In my opinion he did a pretty damn good job, lay off jackasses >> (gonna flame me? id love to see you people making fun of him, to do the exact same shots he did, under all the pressure and at his age) grow up.
@personyoulove You're right, but you have to admit that when they would've given him a traditional Recurve bow without telescopic sights, the chances would be less than with a compound where you only have a fraction of the weight at the end of the pull. Still, very nice shooting whatsoever.
This a very good example of how NOT TO grip a bow, how NOT TO setup your release aid. Of imperfect followthrough, etc...
Out of 20 arrows The guy scored 2 7s, 4 8s, a bunch of nines and only one 10 before he managed to hit a perfect 10. If he shot a 60 arrow round that is usually shot in tournaments worldwide he'd end up close to the very bottom of the score list.... geeeez
Great job at judging a person you don't know, doing something in front of all those people, wile not being pro. I sure you could have done all of this so much better then him. second his arrows were deflecting off the arrow shaft already in the target, but I sure you did not see that since you were too busy attacking this person.
2. It is obvious that you never shot a decent arrow group, or in this case - around 20yd to notice that if you shoot more than one arrow per spot most of arrows would NOT deflect, they'd rather stack up, or even worse - damage the arrows that are already in. So, it's nothing more that poor shooting and quite frankly cheating the unsuspecting crowd and audience...

MoreCleanFun 1 year ago
@MoreCleanFun
It's not that rare. Over the years, every archer will do it at least once. Either on purpose or by pure chance.
Where I shoot, almost everyone does it within their first few years.
But still. He does a pretty good job. A few technical mistakes, but not bad at all.

for him to have made that last shot .. would be something like 1:ungodly number where he actually to split the arrow ..
the planets would all have to be in exactly the right alignment and what not voodoo hocus pocus yadie yadie bla bla ..
but still .. this guy did amazing .. even for those that actually know what their doing ...

sque1ch, its making a metallic sound because of his arrows being drawn along his rest which i would assume is a trophy taker spring steel rest, that sound is normal in that situation...
davaloha123 2 years ago
so far I have seen three 'robinhoods', one is during parctice my schoolmate did it with compund bow in 18m distance, an other one is during competition, but that seems to be a lucky shot, the last one I can't remember...

Bowhunter82393 2 years ago
@Bowhunter82393 the idea is to shoot the arrow into the arrow!!
pogi09282805724 2 years ago
i have to of em hangen on my wall....a robin hood has to be perfect.....an aroow tht is 1/4 of an inch in diamiter into an arrow that is also 1/4 of an inch in diamiter the one he is shoting at is about 3/4 to 1 inch in diamater maken it alot easer than the true robin hood u see exibition archers shoot
Bowhunter82393 2 years ago
@Bowhunter82393 very true

if it were my bow i'd have it serviced correctly because every time he draws up it makes a really bad metalic sound
sque1ch 2 years ago
Secondly, watch the replay, the arrow wobbles as it flies making it ultimately difficult to get into the other arrow straight on.
latenight003 2 years ago 33
@latenight003 Have you ever heard about the 3-spot target face? its used because competing archers dont whanna damage their own arrows... Hitting your own arrow from that low distance is very easy if you shoot a Compound bow... i just hit in the same 3 hole about 3 times in a row on a 3-spot target face at practice yesterday...

@latenight003 this is not very hard to do... first of all the "arrow" that was in the target it was with a much lager diameter than the arrow he shot (don't think that is an arrow, i think that was a tube with vanes glued on it) second i did it 2-3 times after an year of training when shooting more than 3 arrows form 25-30 meters in the same target and 3rd an arrow with the correct spin wobbles for about 15-20 meters in the air after that it stabilises.

i love him man. hes not like a pro or anything yet he was able to do so well at his age and with so many people watching
versionintegrale 2 years ago
You guys are sitting there saying hes not good or whatnot when...
1. This more then likely isnt his normal routine.
2. Hes probably in his 50's so it might be hard for him to even see that far.
3. In my opinion he did a pretty damn good job, lay off jackasses >> (gonna flame me? id love to see you people making fun of him, to do the exact same shots he did, under all the pressure and at his age) grow up.

@personyoulove well said
skateboarddude564 1 year ago
@personyoulove You're right, but you have to admit that when they would've given him a traditional Recurve bow without telescopic sights, the chances would be less than with a compound where you only have a fraction of the weight at the end of the pull. Still, very nice shooting whatsoever.

This a very good example of how NOT TO grip a bow, how NOT TO setup your release aid. Of imperfect followthrough, etc...
Out of 20 arrows The guy scored 2 7s, 4 8s, a bunch of nines and only one 10 before he managed to hit a perfect 10. If he shot a 60 arrow round that is usually shot in tournaments worldwide he'd end up close to the very bottom of the score list.... geeeez
vdamir78 2 years ago
Great job at judging a person you don't know, doing something in front of all those people, wile not being pro. I sure you could have done all of this so much better then him. second his arrows were deflecting off the arrow shaft already in the target, but I sure you did not see that since you were too busy attacking this person.
xiaemperor 2 years ago
1. Yes I could do this better than him
2. It is obvious that you never shot a decent arrow group, or in this case - around 20yd to notice that if you shoot more than one arrow per spot most of arrows would NOT deflect, they'd rather stack up, or even worse - damage the arrows that are already in. So, it's nothing more that poor shooting and quite frankly cheating the unsuspecting crowd and audience...
sasavukelic 2 years ago
Now your judging me and never even seen me shoot wow your an ass. Good job keep up being arrogant it make you tons of friends. LOSER!

If you really could do better than him, film yourself doing so and post it. But until then there's no reason to believe you.
