  • Actually it's illegal to deface U.S. currency. You got it wrong. It doesn't say "defraud" the U.S. government. It says DEFRAUDING U.S. currency, meaning, fucking it up so it's not useful anymore.

  • you use the spoon to give it the round shape and to clean it up. lot better quality if you reduce with hammer and shape with a spoon

  • if the coin was 90% silver then after you were finished drilling and sanding the middle part out you probably have a ring that's 20% sliver the other 70% is dust floating away....

  • Great Craftsmanship. I like how the ring is warped a little. That makes it really unique. This is a great video. Your energy is awesome. Can you tell me what you used on the Dremel tool. What tip did you use? Does it have some type of measurement? What grit sandpaper did you use?

  • You are hitting it too hard and you need to use a plastic mallet style hammer. That will cause less warping and reduce the chance of anything cracking.

  • its funny how that lady looks at you at 1:00

  • Chuck Norris use MenHole covers to build his Ring

  • i used a coin from 65 and it turned my finger green

  • As a coin collector, I find this very disturbing...

  • @ZombifyIt :)))))

  • @adrianakaaa lol you collect coins too huh?

  • @ZombifyIt no But I found your comment very funny :P

  • hahahaha

  • My question is how do you make a ring, with the words and year on the outside, like the rings they sell on eBay?? My guess would be to make a hole form the center, but tap the ring from the "center"??

  • cool! Now if you use a ballpin hammer you will get a different look which is also happennin'

  • What the fuck are we supposed to do if we don't have any freaking power tools!

    Douche bag!

  • @imslimshadey

    Use your head!

  • Being a coin guy, this video makes my chest hurt a little.

  • @IVSpod mine too

  • I would use the spoon. Its slower, but makes it warp ALOT less.

  • mine came out great... thank for the vid

  • for those who want to make one soooo much better and easier GO TO KIPKAY

  • @UReadThisName what video is it called?

  • Guess who is watching this video.. Lebron

  • why not melt it, surely it would be easier????

  • Comment removed

  • um thats a 44 dollar coin....

  • @RebuildReach no its not...

  • @RebuildReach In 2007 when this video was made (which was before the recession) silver was around 15 bucks an ounce. A half dollar is less than a third of an ounce. Don't we all wish we bought silver before the recession?

  • Im making one for when i propose to my wife.

  • you said dremel tool?

  • I used a spoon on mine, and it came out much better than that.

Had the year inside the band perfectly intact.

  • isnt this illegal

  • U should of used the spoom bcuz the date of coin would show on in side of ring

  • ''As long as there METAL'' ... what ?

  • That was really cool.

  • Bre, sadly missed.

  • really cool i finally have something to do with my 5 silver coin thingies

  • weres kip kay???

  • Butt chin.

  • Pretty cool way to make some wedding rings too as well. Both bride and groom can make each others, that way the rings will have more value because they were made by each other :)

  • you can use a quarter !! drill small hole 1st. then keep shank of drill bit in hole while hammering outside rim. THEN, support drill bit on 2 small blocks so coin does not touch anvil and hammer some more. the drill bit becomes an "internal anvil" and spreads the inside. No need to waste so much metal. Also, be sure to heat with a torch to red and dunk in water to anneal once in a while or the silver becomes work hardened and can crack.

  • go hammer your head with a shotgun, and pull the triger while doing so!

  • hey that was cool tell me how long it took not including the video

  • go out there and buy this 10$ coin and make it worth 1$

  • WTF!? GIRL IN BACKGROUND AT 1:00

  • is tht how john f kennedy got killed ?

  • in the 19th century they didn't have drills!

  • @TheMegalucian Are you stupid, dumb, or American?? Drills were first used in the Paleolithic Era, when they were made of fire-hardened wood or stone. Metal drills were first used in ancient Egypt.

  • @EpiphoneArchtopLover so u mean that they connected their "ancient" dirlls to an outlet???

  • @TheMegalucian You never specified "electric" drills. There is such a thing as a manual drill you know. Besides, it's not outside the realm of possibility that they had electric drills. Do a Google search on the Baghdad Batteries.

  • I feel like a spoon would take.. really long time

  • Actually they make a great looking ring and the silver is still there people so he hasn't wasted anything! The only real comment is that his was really crooked and not even round. there are much better ways to make coin rings so that the details still show and I sell these coins on a regular basis for 50-75 dollars depending on the coin.

  • what do you think the girl is thinking behind you while playing your little guiatar

  • Yes Waste 1 ounce of silver on a stupid ring..

  • 2007, 4-5 bucks each, muahahahahahha muahahahahahaha

  • OOH my goodness people. Calm down, its his money, he can do what he wants with it.

  • Hilarious!! Love it

  • What is your major malfunction ?

  • I made one out of a Nickel

  • someone should make one for Lebron

  • Vandalism

  • i just stopped the video, that air guitar is so.... i just dont wanna look anymore!

  • Now sell it for $1.

  • With the value of silver as it is (as of this posting a silver half dollar is worth more like $10 in it's value in silver), this is, albeit cool, a massive waste. If you are going to do this, put a piece of paper down and save the silver filings and donate it to your local silversmith. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

  • can i do it with a quarter?

  • @blondeezrbanannaz You need a coin that's substantially larger than your finger, this project works because you're manipulating the rim of the coin into the body of your ring, with a quarter, you'd have little or no slack for the ring body unless you simply melted the coin and cast it conventionally.

  • @Tenacious21 I'm not going to wear it, i'm going to like do other things with them, I have an imaginative mind, lolz XD

  • turn the spoon over the other way and it gives a better curve to the shape of the ring

  • How would you put like a gem or a stone on it?

  • what happened to kip kay?

  • @MrPalyman what do you mean kip came after bre

  • Do all American coins have precious metals in them???

  • @whowantsabighug

They used to up until the 1960's. Now they're mainly tin and nickel alloys.

  • chick in the back has a nice ass

  • dont do this its destroying a good coin and making it worthless

  • @bobcatopossum so cuz it becomes a ring...

  • Can you do it with just a normal half dollar..?

  • I tried that with a silver quarter and a stainless steel spoon when i was little. i didn't set it down on anything hard i just held the coin in my fingers. It makes a great ring if you don't get in a hurry like this video. The payoff if seeing the inside of the ring. Advised only if you don't mind hitting your fingers a couple thousand times.

  • my brother has an half doller

  • @BLiTzBeanerrr cool story bro

  • would of been easier just to buy a ring mold and melt it down with a propane torch

  • i think he has one of every Dremel model except the trio and the multimax...

  • Very cool !!! I got to do this in jewelry class. My hammering (peening) took 4 hrs. and the coin did not warp. Then I drilled a tiny hole off to the side so I could fit a jewelers saw in to cut out the center (for the great seal). I then filed and sanded the "Eagle" prior to forming it into a slight dish to solder, braise onto the ring. It is way cool !!! Everybody loves and I've been offered much more than what the "Proof Kennedy half dollar" was worth. GOT SILVER ?

  • If you want a real one that is done well go to etsy shop silvercoinrings

  • why would you waste them?

  • that rings only worth 50 cents... Wow coulda fooled me

  • Half dollar turn into a ring?

  • hearing that drimmel, made me cringe. i remember a bad experince at a dentist many years ago.. oh god.

  • love this! check out what we do with a half dollar and a little bit of magic!

  • Cool

  • i made me rings on a lathe...

  • that silver coin is now worth $30 if it is a pure ounce of silver watch my vids to find out the potential of silver

  • @rolficus those half dollar have about $17 worth of silver in them, so yea a waste of a coin f you ask me.

  • @Thatcrazykidbrendan actually with the value added to them in the ring making process they're probably worth about the same amount of money as the silver. not a good way to make a profit if you're trying to sell them but you're not really losing money. plus you could always melt down the silver shavings from this ring and use them to make another ring later on.

  • @itsumonihon better to use a cheap $5 40% silver coin instead in that case...

  • @Thatcrazykidbrendan not really, as then it is not worth anything as nobody will ever want to pay for a ring made of 40% silver, whereas a 92.5% silver ring is just fine.

  • @itsumonihon i would easily pay the $5 for a silver ring, and coin silver is not sterling, its 90%. no problem if its alloyed, at least not to me.

  • my preeeeeeeeeeeesious

  • @knra4ever Hahahahhaha. Precioussssssssss

  • you pay $4 for 50 cents O.o :D

  • What If It Doesnt Fit On My Finger o.O !!!???

  • pause at 1:00 look at the chick in the back... shes like what a freak lol

  • I save them for collections

  • I save them for collections

  • 1:56 what is she reading, all it says is Black's XD

  • what a TOTAL douche

  • @KolbyChewy yep ... to deface money is a crime and is worth a 3 year jail sentance

  • OMG! Those are worth alot!

  • In australia that would b ilegal

  • @rangask8er It is int he US also ahhahaha, they could go to jail if anyone cared enough to track them down :P

  • @rangask8er who knows?

  • As per United States Code TITLE 18 PART I CHAPTER 17 § 331. "Mutilation, diminution, and falsification of coins", so long as you aren't defacing said coins with the intent of committing fraud, then it's perfectly legal. Consider the penny presses you can find at every amusement park and zoo across America. Read a book before you spout off your "knowledge". And the value of the ring is in the making, not the face amount or collector's value. Coin collectors are pricks.

  • are you sure this is legal because if i do it its not my fault i go to jail

  • are you sure this is leagle because if i do it its not my fault i go to jail

  • oh yeah I felt that you are a stupid too. it takes 10 minuts and can make more beautyful ring.

  • Defacing currency is a federal offense.

  • I like hammering on metal things.. Wood just wont do it these days XD

  • Way to ruin a perfectly good coin...

  • @Zydrateaddkt91 maybe an older quarter

  • @Zydrateaddkt91 or way to turn half a dollar into a hand made engagement ring....

  • @Zydrateaddkt91

I know those coins were sealed in a package doesn't that mean they were in perfect uncirculated condition?

  • @Zydrateaddkt91 i know he could have bought a piece of silver instead.

  • thats horabel

  • know i have a cool ring thank you??

  • ima make a whole bunch! fuck your old coins :)

  • Hmm, thats a federal law, im reporting you may you rott in jail.

  • silver is worth cash, good for you, great discovery DID YOU KNOW THAT IT WAS KENNEDY WHO TRIED TO RE-INTRODUCE THE SILVER NOTE BEFORE HE WAS ASSASSINATED?

THAT meant re-tying the Dollar with the Federal Reserve instead of the private bank

    look it up

that said, if you need to make a fucking ring buy silver instead of destroying what little Good figures history USA had offer

  • @poosaypirate wrong the kennedy half dollar is just like the two dollar bill they arent worth much at all and prob wont be worth much for like 50 or so years

  • @number3665 you complete idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

only an American i tell you

  • @sexboywonder you only made me more right im an american i now more about american history than you. the kennedy half dollar serves no great significance at all really. all that crap u said about it being a good US figure is wrong. one now a days its worth like a few dollars and it was made after his death just to show respect for him thats all. it has nothing to do with any of the stuff you said.

  • @number3665 you are so stupid im starting to feel sorry for you

    lol

  • @poosaypirate idiot you need to reread your post you said he was destroying a piece of US history blah blah blah like Kennedy half dollars are rare. i just told you how wrong you are and that there are plenty of kennedy half dollars still incirculation and alot still have the same compisition like the one he used 90% silver. in other words its not a big deal at all but you are too much of an idiot to understand that. you probably didnt know kennedy got rich because of bootlegging.

  • @number3665 nothing like pissing on your own (ignorant) foot right? you say " bla bla bla" re Kenedys historic sgnificiance and yet you ask if Kennedy was a symbol of great morality.

well looks like some texan turd ball needs to brush up on his history more than shoot off at the mouth

that said, its not against federal law for nothing to destroy us currency. reminder, YES THE COINS DO HAVE VALUE; COLLEctor value or not, they have their minted value.

really the ignorant fool here is you

  • @number3665 reading comprehension sucks doesnt it for you

  • @poosaypirate not to mention the US still makes kennedy half dollars as proof coinage for collectors etc with the same composition as the coins from 1964.

  • @number3665 so? that doesnt negate what i said

    wakhe the fuck up, Jesus

  • Comment removed

  • @poosaypirate and that same money is what helped him get into office. now is this 50 cent coin still such a symbol of great morality etc that its bad to do this with it? its a fucking coin and there are still plenty in circulation so i dont see why you're making such a big deal out of it especially when you aren't american. ive proved that your words are simply ignorant and foolish on multiple occasions you are just too stupid to see that

  • @number3665 shame you didnt read what i wrote regarding Kennedy either

  • brawo

  • may i buy one?

  • its been 15 min nothing happened

  • Honestly, why can't I just see hands in the process of do

  • thank you!! this one is actualy simple for me.....

  • useless ....

  • This is awesome! Now I have to look for coins. Great idea! I have another idea. Why don't you try making one with wire and just put four holes at the sides of the ring, wire wrap it to show the face on the coin? Don’t cut off the center of the ring. I think this will be more unique, because you’ll be showing the face on the ring. Funny video.

  • He reminds me of my sister's boyfriend

  • 1:00 look at the lady in the back

  • lol what a pussy anvil

  • i prefer not to wear shitty looking jewelry... but who am i to say? XD

  • @xxxlife187xxx

The ones that are made correctly actually look really good. He just sucks (he tried to speed it up which is why it warped, that's why the spoon is sometimes better...)

  • GOTHAM GIRLS! I HAVE THE SAME SHIRT!

  • 0:57 OTHER GREATEST PART

  • 1:57 GREATEST PART

  • Your not too bright are you. It is a federal offense for defacing US currency. Guess youll shoot your next one in jail

  • @glpainterwindstream Actually, you're the one who's not to bright. Did you watch the video. What the said in the video is true. As long as you're not defacing US currency FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMMITTING FRAUD it's perfectly legal. So, if you're trying to change the denomination of a bill or coin and pass it off that would be illegal. Just doing this is NOT illegal. Ever see those machines where you put the penny in, turn the handle and it smashes it into some shape. Those are legal. Get it.

  • why dont u just use a normal half dollar coin?

  • @ShadowClaw08 Because normal half dollars aren't made out of silver anymore

  • oh is that how u play metal this whole time i been doing it wrong!

  • cool

  • laughed my ass off when i saw the looks that girl behind you gave you when you did the metal bit!!

  • im sure the coin is worth more than the ring

  • stop at 1:50 :D

  • @elemenhorster hsshhahahahahahaha

  • Lol 1:48

  • Haha "if you don't have an Aunt. Lidia" I do not! DANG IT!!!

  • You suck.. learn to be patient... well maybe you don't suck, you just need to slow it down bro, other people who made them on here made things that looked like art, not a pre-school project! I guess this is what happens when your a jack-of-all trades and a master at none. Nice video, entertaining and all.

  • NOT FIRST!!! :'(

  • @Amroth228 hahaha..... tosh?

  • great video

  • worst solo ever

  • dont deface coins like that, its destroying history you idoit

  • you now you cold still melt or sell the pieces of silver that where not use or wasted

  • You did the spoon thing wrong. You used a cheap spoon. You need a spoon thats like really thick. Ive made several out of standard nickel/copper quarters.

Your spoon is like 1 mm thick, mine is like 4. Mine ended up very nice and ring looking like, as well as half of it being copper from the inside and the other half 75% copper 25% nickel (i believe thats the mixture for the outer layer)
