  • does the Capitol always back in Pitt?

  • @locomotiveconductor - I only took the Capitol just that one time, so I don't know if this backing up is the normal practice at Pittsburgh.

  • lol ive ridden on this train once every year for the past 6 years and its always running late around 7 am

  • can't they just leave the 29 on the mainline for the 5 minutes they are there? there are places to cross the tracks

  • @jfsa380 theres no platform on the track hes on so he has to come back once the other traffic gets out of the way.

  • must be running 1 1/2 hours late

  • Amtrak rocks and is destined to be the best rail travel in the USA. T.C. 4-18-2010

  • Nice job!

  • Great video!

Wish there more more like this from all approaches.

    rchgck

  • Nice to see what the Pittsburgh station looks like at track level. Not as pathetic as most of Amtraks stations but well underserved.+

  • @cforssi yeah, only four trains a day, Capital limited 30 at 5:20 AM; Pennsylvanian 42 at 7:20 (except sun) (to nyc); Pennsylvanian 44 at 1:20 (sun) (to nyc); Pennsylvanian 43 at 8:05 pm (from nyc) and Capital Limited 29 at 44:48 (was-chi) so, not many trains, not much traffic, and only two ticket agents. so, yeah, could be nicer, but thanks, i like it too.

  • Cool!

  • At first I was wondering why the Capitol Limited came in in Track 2 and had to back onto Track 1, then I remembered that at the time the video was made some work was being done on the North Side at Federal Street.
