  • Agreed. This sounds fucking rad!!!

  • sounds ... fuckin rad... !!!!!!

  • @Trabant1989 It is simply amazing, I like tone from e1 string. Which from your effect's give this tone. Someone people have SDD-3KP preamp but they haven't that tone. What did you do this :) ?

  • @Rafal102able Thanks - Well it's the SDD preamp + AC30, but also delay with modulation and the Herdim pick as well. Aside from that I guess it's how you touch the strings.

  • @Trabant1989 Lots of thanks to you for advice!

I have just gathered that lots of The Edge's sounds depends mainly on unique technique of playing and (power of touch the strings), someone think that it is only a lot of effects units and it is catch 22 :)

I think that you are pretty close to The Edge's style of playing, closer than others from Youtube or other net page. Very nice job! Your Pride cover's are outstanding btw.

P.S Can you upload your Pride BT and send me link on PM?

  • Just perfect!!! Right.

  • whats your amp setting? i have all the equipments a strat,a vox d20 i think,a boss delay pedal and wedgie pick which sounds exactly the same as a herdim but i just cant get this sound..

  • Excellent version... well done..

  • How does it sound in the effects loop of the HD using an ac30 modeller?

  • @CapoOfficial I haven't even tried that as I really don't like the HD500 Vox AC30 model at all...you will get better AC30 sounds using a Sansamp Liverpool pedal IMO.

  • Do you know how well the sdd pedal would do with a multi effects pedal with amp modeller? Like a POD HD 500?

  • @CapoOfficial Yes, I use it all the time after my POD HD500 and before my tube amps

  • Great tone! Are you using the stock pickups in that strat - if not - what are they please? :)

  • @planetgas Thanks - They are Fender Custom Shop '69 pickups - except for the bridge pickup, which is a Seymour Duncan SSL-1

  • Best Friend worked with u2 on popmart tour, have been there in hanover Quay when they were rehearsing this song and i must say congrats this is shit hot?

  • j'm totally agree with bobcynet.....this is the best tone ,with Mick(mick3b1g) and michael (u2guitartutorials)! anw congrats for this but also for all your u2 cover!

Ciao cheers and thank U...greetings from Italy!

  • Dude...Pouring all over through YouTube you and Mick3b1g have by far the best tones!!!! Freaking amazing. I have American Standard and it looks you have a 70's strat. What do you think of the output tones on a regular strat vs. a 70's? Does it make a difference. Im running mine through Vox AC30, but just cant get that gravely, chimey pang that Edge gets. I do use Herdim picks and that helps as well as using Top boost. Any suggestions.

  • @bobcynet Thanks man! Have you tried any kind of preamp and/or an attenuator so you can run the AC30 at a hotter level? You need to get it on the verge of breakup, but that can be very loud so often people don't turn it up enough.

  • SO sweet. I can't wait til the next pedal run!

    -Jules

  • Dave, can you share your Dyna and SDD settings for this clip? Great tone...

  • @muggle911 Thx Sure man... The Dyna setting was typical Edge type (high output, low sensitivity) and the SDD was -10 in, -10 out, and level near max.

  • Hay really appreciate this video, nice sound check out some off mine , cheers.

  • This is excellent best bad tone i have heard, i have a Korg A3 and am wondering how u got the dotted 8th on the delay on youre korg? cheers

  • @JamesTheEdge14 It's actually a Korg DL8000R I used, not the A3, but the A3 does have some modulated delays. The FX chains usually have "MDL1" in them I believe.

  • @Trabant1989 hi can you do a youtube clip on how to program korg dl8000r i have one but cant set it up, you have it perfect, can i have your dl8000r settings? cheers jon

  • great as always dave!

  • Best "Bad" tone I've heard in some time Dave. Sounds like 2 delays. Does the Korg DL have dual delays?

  • @drobdelayed Thanks Damon, it does have dual delays in it but I only used one delay (dotted 8th) on this clip.

  • sorry ddue didnt read the info, so out of it today

  • hey dave whats delay do you use again also was the preamp pedal sddk used as well

  • Very good!!!

  • Nice job Dave! Do you use 10's or 11's, the chime is fantastic on those opening harmonics.

  • @muggle911 Thx - I usually use 11's when I can - I think these were Ernie Ball Power Slinky strings.

  • Great tone Dave! I would give you 5 stars, but YouTube took that ranking system away from us. So "like" it is.
