Just started watching this on Netflix. I only got turned onto it by the "Big Bang Theory" remarks, to be honest. I am loving the show and this song!! It's beautiful.
I know this might sound a little weird, but as well as picturing Boomer and the Chief, I think of the moment where Lee Adama, and Commander Adama share a moment with one another.
Nothing gay, but just a really powerful scene between an estranged father and his son. It was very powerful to watch, and will remain one of my favorite moments in the series.
I love this! Duala and Billy Kikea kiss for the first time and it's rather harrowing to see...such raw emotion, such profound sadness...and yeah, Boomer and Chief Tyrol were reunited here and Boxy made his cameo...what amazing music. I purchased it on CD, lost it, and so I'm glad to see/hear it here.
i played this for my daughters when they were falling asleep. i would tell them magical tales of a space-faring people, no not Galactica, ha-ha! Maybe a little more up-beat. my little one was 4 when i first heard this. my other little one was but a new born. those are some good memories. that is what Galactica's music gives me- good, tender memories.
@DemonGurkan You gotta realize that with other languages, not only are the words different, but sentence structures vary greatly. (the order of subjects, verbs, adjectives, etc.)
@daalny909 Its actually said as a prayer, it took a while to recognize it. partially cuz if you listen to the actual chant it sounds nothing like this. This is a million times better.
After watching the last episode, I returned to the original miniseries and am working my way back throught the entire series. I cannot believe how many episodes I can watch in one day.
I recommend you all try it. The early episodes of season 1 are the best in my opinion.
I'm doing the same thing with a few friends who have never seen bsg before... I'll have a bunch of new converts in no time, expecially as S1 was really good tv.
Definitely, but Season 2 and 3 are amazing as well! Start of Season 4 was a little bit off, and the second half wasn' THAT great, but overall it's an abolutely fantastic series!
Yeah, the first seasons were the best ... later all the religious stuff kinda started getting out of hand a bit. I actually like the mystical touch but I feel they may have overdone it a little ... not enough to spoil the show, though, which to me is still the best thing I've ever seen on tv. :)
Didn't this music play when Boomer and the chief were reunited on Galactica? You know, when she brought back Boxey and a few other refugees from Caprica.

this song reminds of when I was 10 and first saw the minisereis. It was beautiful. A bit wierd though to have galactica as a childhood memory.

I forgot this song. It was the best of all the songs featured in the series, in my opinion.

The song to kiss or not to kiss is actually a piece of ancient Hindu scripture an upanishad.
Asato Ma Sat Gamaya
Tamaso Ma Jyotir Gamaya
Mrityor Ma Amritam Gamaya
Lead Us From the Unreal To Real,
Lead Us From Darkness To Light,
Lead Us From Death To Immortality

@daalny909 that sounds kinda fucked up man.
so in english it always start with *lead Us From Death*
but in their way its completely diferent words in every sentence..
and it quits with gamaya in all 3.. when in english its 3 diferent words "real, light immortality",
i think youre full of shit.. ^^

@DemonGurkan In many languages the adjective/modifier comes after the noun. this is translation of this
ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय ।
तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।।
मृत्योर्मामृतं गमय ।
ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शान्ति ।। - बृहदारण्यक उपनिषद्
the upanishad ends with santi, santi santi meaning peace the song does not.
Am I still full of $^i*?

I agree with you, Sabbon.
Loved the first 2 seasons, thought 3 was also excellent, and thought 4 was very good. But Season 4 is definitely my least favorite.

@Sabbon IMO nothing matches the levels of awesomness of the pilot and the first season.

I couldn't understand the lyrics that well but I think I heard "Lord(s) bless Adama" in there.
Great song either way!!!

Great soundtrack, reuniting with Galactica and the rest of the fleet and the crew, brings a tear to the eye.
