Lol, that games are not going to become more violent because 1 country with a very small profit margin for the developers is going to have a higher rating, the are going to turn out a violent as the developer wants it and nothing is going to change that.
Adding the rating wont make the games more violent, it will just allow older, mature people to play games that younger people should not and will not.

(cont) If you want to protect children, go and read a manual, set up parental controls on your system, click "No games over 15" or whatever it is, and finished. When they get older, remove the restriction. Oh and don't tell your kids the passcode. Do it yourself without them watching you. Simple as that, done with the problem!
Read the label too. They are on the box art for an important reason: to tell you what is for kids or adults. Don't deny adults' rights though.They are no longer children

But to not stifle what developers intended for gamers to experience. Such as how Bethesda had to replace drug names with fake ones.

It's easy to see how one could think that an R rating would just mean more violent video games for our kids to play, but this isn't true and the reverse has been the case in a few instances. There have been games, like the most recent Alien vs Predator, that have been given 18+ ratings all over the world but were given an MA rating over here in order for them to be allowed to be sold.
Imagine if there was no R rating for films, movies like Fight Club would never have seen the light of day.
That woman who said (whoever she is) that she doesn't understand and thinks that it would mean that more video games will be available under an R18+ rating. She needs to look more into the issue before spouting the same sort of crap that the ACL do, especially when on national television, lest she stray the minds of other people with no knowledge of the issue.
