Jeez , what a joke! , how disconnect you are from professional world of software. Server OS easily works (even with Microsoft VPC!) on even a modest laptops , and not to mention that most laptops does support Hardware Virtualization out of the box.

Compaq's good but Celeron stinks... I have the 6710b which has a 2.1 GHZ Intel processor and downgraded Windows XP Pro. It looks the same as this, price is the same, but it's a heck of a lot better!

I have this machine for the past 2 years , I increased RAM to 3GB , which helps quite a bit as I have to run multiple virtual machines at a the same time. I have T5500 Intel core 2 duo processor , and thats where my bad luck comes into picture , I seems to be that It does not support Windows Server 2008 (x64) Hyper V. Actually I don't able to find a way to enable hardware vritualization , and after looking on web found that my processor does not supports it.

Overall this laptop is quite good.

I have this and it runs pretty good but then I'm not very tech savvy. I know for a fact that it's sturdy since I've dropped it four times and it still works fine. I bought it Summer 2007 for $1,200 USD which in retrospect was a rip off.

Faster? Its very slow!. Its very slow to me, because when I run a few programs videos become slideshow. My dual core 1.73GHz is kind of fast. The problem with celeron m 430 is that it speed is even slower than the HD not HDD running at 5,400rpm.

Not sure if Im following you. But really, celeron M processors are just outdated rigth now, even the AMD tl-50 will spank the ass of an intel celeron M, but well, if you need a laptop under 500 US isnt a bad deal though...
