This is what Walker Texas Ranger's partners did alot, since not all of them were rangers at first. They forgot to mention in one of the steps, you need to be able to do a roundhouse kick 3 times in a row. It takes care of alot of the running and general resisting.
making a citizen's arrest, it's in your favor if there are citizens around you that help you. that way the courts are in your favor, in no way are they going to charge 4+ people for a citizens arrest if the guy runs out into traffic. Number two you've got a better chance to get hit by lightning. Number 3 there is a 98% chance the person will live. Most people do know getting hit by a car hurts thats why they tend to avoid it. Thats is right o"n their own free will." If I shoot myself in the foot you can't charge the gun with manslaughter cause it didn't do anything and the consequences of me pulling the trigger were caused by me and me alone.
America is too democratic. Not saying it's a bad thing but obviously the situation in this case and other similar situations is the direct result of the citizens taking it for granted and abusing it. And yet if the judicial branch tries to block it all hell will break loose about "our rights being constricted" and whatnot.
One last piece of advice do not transport criminal in any vehicle stay at scene of crime. Call police within 15 minutes or so. MAke sure to scream verbal commands at the person so that you can attract the attention of witnesses and so that if you need to use force you can say the criminal wasn't complying and "you used the least neccesary amount of force possible to effect an arrest.
You have no reason to be afraid and you can use whatever force neccesary to subdue them, you can kick punch or whatever. My advice is to start with verbal commands and work your way up the force meter. If you chase someone and they get hit by a car,(better chance of getting hit by lightning) it is not manslaughter or murder. They did it of their own free will. Of course do your homework on this before you "excercise your right."

This is what Walker Texas Ranger's partners did alot, since not all of them were rangers at first. They forgot to mention in one of the steps, you need to be able to do a roundhouse kick 3 times in a row. It takes care of alot of the running and general resisting.

making a citizen's arrest, it's in your favor if there are citizens around you that help you. that way the courts are in your favor, in no way are they going to charge 4+ people for a citizens arrest if the guy runs out into traffic. Also, it's best to know what has happened within your state. If people have gotten arrested for citizens arrest, then just leave it alone, seriously.
Where I live, cops look on people very highly for such actions, they wont arrest you for doing a good deed.

not at all, they work for the law, if you file a complaint, then that's the legitimate way, and actually officers can be arrested by a higher authority such as a marshal, if people could constantly try to arrest police officers because they believe they committed a crime, even if they didn't, it wouldn't be good, and police officers are trained and armed, so it wouldn't be wise to try to assault one, most people are anti-police which is another good reason civilians cant

One last piece of advice do not transport criminal in any vehicle stay at scene of crime. Call police within 15 minutes or so. MAke sure to scream verbal commands at the person so that you can attract the attention of witnesses and so that if you need to use force you can say the criminal wasn't complying and "you used the least neccesary amount of force possible to effect an arrest.

You have no reason to be afraid and you can use whatever force neccesary to subdue them, you can kick punch or whatever. My advice is to start with verbal commands and work your way up the force meter. If you chase someone and they get hit by a car,(better chance of getting hit by lightning) it is not manslaughter or murder. They did it of their own free will. Of course do your homework on this before you "excercise your right."

If you bash someone's skull in, regardless of whether or not you warned them, that is still assault. The law doesnt support vigilantes. Also, if you chase someone and s/he does get hit by a car, it IS manslaughter. They must arrest them and let the court decide what to do with them. They're only allowed to apply as much force as necessary. Too much force and they can be sued. Also, what YOU were mistaken? What if they didn't do anything wrong and you just attempted to arrest a man? I would run from the lunatic too.

This video is wrong. I've got a Masters in Criminal Justice. In most states the crime must be a felony so know what crimes are considered felonies. If you wanted to you could carry around with you a pair of handcuffs I carry one on me at all times.
Tell the person you are placing them under citizens arrest for whatever crime they committed. They will most likely run or fight back so go as far as you want. if they physicslly fight you say that they push you or kick you is totally their fault.

I caught a fellow co-worker in bed with my wife and daughter. He went out the sliding glass door so I chased him with my car and bumped him for fleeing and resisting. A while back there was this guy that shot some guy for stealing his car out of his yard with a clear as day "no tresspassing" sign at his gate and the guy he shot sued him for assult with a weapon.
and basicly what citizens arrest is getting charged for arresting a guy...now is that fair?
