@RobertLuongDick The point of boy scouts is to teach you leadership skills and character, 2 things which will lead sucess. And we don't just tie knots and go camping. We encourage scouts to be active in their community and to join sports teams or other things outside of scouts. We learn about finance, 1st aid, and different career fields. You clearly know nothing about scouts. And you need to remeber each troop is different. Some maybe really awsome and some maybe really stupid.

@RobertLuongDick On the issue of homos I'm personally neutral so I won't comment. The issue with athiest is that Scouting was founded on relious morals. We don't discriminate against Muslims or buddist or other religions. It's just the more offen the not athiest do not have any moral compass whatsoever. And to be our troop has an agnostic and an athiest but we know they have good charatacer. And boy scouts founded venture and explorer scouts both co-ed. That's not something girl scouts can say.

@bsamendotatroop Well. It says on your guys' website that "the scout oath represents the basic values of scouting and it addresses the 'duty to god' before a duty to country, others, and self." Sound familiar? (this is pretty much the credo of Al Queda. I dunno about your personal troop, but the Boy Scouts official website says that homosexuals and nonreligious persons are incapable of ever becoming suitable role models for the community.

There are many boy scouts who are trying their best and are trying to make their community and country better. It's not something you see a lot of now days. At least most of these kids aren't doing drugs or are in gangs or doing some other B.S.

@bsamendotatroop It's not a 'belief.' It says so on the official BSA website... Yeah, there are a lot of good ppl in boyscouts. No arguments there. What I'm saying is that the Boyscouts of America organization is super hypocritical. And joining boyscouts does not keep you from doing drugs. It gives you activities to do, but obviously it's not there 24-7 for you. In fact, I know a few scouts and former scouts who smoke weed and party pretty often.

@RobertLuongDick There are many people who claim to be of a certian faith and simply just aren't. They should be judged by their actions not there words. Unfourntately you can't really make that into a stat. And 15% of the population are non-religious and only about 2% are self-proclaimed athiest. There is a difference. Check your facts. Let me guess you believe Hitler was a Christan don't you. And morality isn't based just on the law, but I will grant you it is a big part of it.

@bsamendotatroop I don't really get what you're saying here. I just gave you statistical evidence that the rate of atheists going to prison is much lower than that of Christians going to prison. I think it's pretty clear that one can infer from this that a higher percentage of Christians engage in criminal activity than atheists. Even if your data is correct, the difference in percentages of religious and nonreligious inmates is astounding.

@bsamendotatroop Also, Hitler was a hardcore Roman Catholic. Don't believe me? Go read Mein Kampf. The book is filled with passages about how he is doing the Lord's work by 'defending' himself against The Jew. I don't believe morality is based upon law. At least not the basics (don't murder, steal, lie, etc.) If you think about it from a Darwinian perspective, these basic moral codes are actually 'programmed' into our brains back during the caveman era.

A true Christian would never persecute Jews or murder that many people. To be quite I really don't believe that most politicians and leaders are Christian.

Proven fact: Politician = Liar. If you know your base is majority Christian wouldn't it be stupid to run as anything else? I don't maybe I'm wrong. Unfortunately I guess I'll never really know.

@RobertLuongDick This is something frequently said of Hitler, particular by anticatholics. However, it's clear he hated all Christian denominations as a challenge to his power, particularly the Catholic Church. That's the reason for the concordat.

I just replied with all that crap to your comments because I have an issue with the BSA hypocrisy and with the belief that we need religion to keep people moral. Religion was useful back in the day when nobody knew anything about sh!t. Now that we have a greater understanding of our reality, I don't think religion is necessary anymore because it dismisses reality and embraces authority and delusion.
