  • many thanx bro...

  • What settings is your amp at i cant figure it out

  • @2072gizmo

It was recorded on a POD.

I can't give exact settings because every amp/effect is different.

If you look in the description, you'll see some general guidelines to help get the sound.

  • Hey how is A open tuning supposed to be?

  • @graberronnie1

It's not A tuning. I'm just giving you an open A (5th string) to tune to. It's standard tuning.

  • at 7:35 it looks like hes flipping us off

  • Lol "Let's start off with the fingering" @ 1:00. You don't tell a girl what you're gonna do to her, you just do it...Lol.......Thanks, great lesson, bro

  • I can't get the strumming down just right, sure wish I could see more of your strumming hand. But, I think youve pretty much got it and taught it to alot of us out here. Thank You Brother

  • @ltjscott

Looking back, it would have been a good idea to show the entire guitar during the last few minutes of the video so that people could see the picking hand.

Thanks for the input - I'll start incorporating more right hand stuff in my lessons.

    Cheers,

    Steve-o

  • thank you sooooooooooooooo much

  • how many times to you pick the high strings in each chord

  • How do you get your guitar to sound that way? I can't get it to have that particular sound :/ please help!! Thanks :)

  • @DaniGarciaMusic

Sound is a life-long endeavor that comes with trial and error.

For me, single coil pickups give a much better clean tone than a humbucker (Fender vs Gibson).

The main effect is a chorus with a touch of reverb and delay.

I almost always use a compressor for clean sounds (personal choice).

  • @DaniGarciaMusic i used the middle and bridge picks use a very clean effect maybe with a little bit of delay. that should get you there

  • You say you are not a professional instructor!! If I were you, I would think of a career change. Your style of tuition and the speed and clarity of your projection, is spot on in my book.

Well done, this is really good.

  • thanks dude really helped out

  • Man it seems like when i try to do that first part my middle finger mutes the 3rd string, any tips?

  • @champlaya7

-Putting your thumb lower down on the back of the neck will make your fingers 'curl' more.

-Make sure your nails are short so that your fingertips can be at at 90 degree angle.

-Necks come in different widths, maybe yours is too narrow (or too wide). You can measure the width at the nut. 1 5/8, 1 11/16, and 1 3/4 are the most common sizes. Then go to a music store and ask to try a different size. 1/8" makes a HUGE difference.

  • Thanks man, now i can play it !!

  • thx!!!

  • not alot of people like playin Dl on guitar... no idea why there fkin awsome man... need nore vids and tabs for em

  • does it matter which fingering you use for the C or G

  • @austinb123456ful

I'd say use whatever is easiest for you.

  • the third cord in the chorus is a, when it goes from the D, to D7, the chord after that is a C not a G

  • @austinb123456ful

I'll have to listen to it again, but I don't think there's an A anywhere in there. Also, I don't think there's a D7, did you mean Dsus4? I am playing a C after that - I'm adding a D and G on the 2 high strings, and that may make it look like I'm playing a G.

I'll check the song again tonight because I could be wrong.

  • @1sainteve1

I've listened to the song again. I've also check out live performace videos and they all seem to jive with what I'm doing here.

  • @1sainteve1 hey man, you guitar sound is awesome. what effects did you use in this video?

  • @EmjayCuenco

It was done on a POD XT. Generally, you'd want to use chorus and compression with some delay and reverb.

  • @1sainteve1 thanks man. =)

  • You need to show what your strumming during the chorus, otherwise it's great

  • buena papa

  • Why do you play a Stratocaster on the introduction then a Telecaster on the tuition part of it? Nice Telecaster by the way

  • @R0ckers2R0ckers

I actually recorded them a few days apart (I'm wearing a different shirt). I guess I just grabbed the Telecaster.

  • Dude- I love how you do all of the up strokes in the correct places. I've been playing for years but learnt so many bad habits. Nice tuition though, so keep it up

  • 'so lets start off with the fingering LOL' ;D

  • @KoreysStory

Never noticed that! Of course, I don't have a dirty mind ;)

  • @1sainteve1 Just trying to learn this song now :') actually love def leppard and all of there albums :')

Also want to learn pour some sugar on me and armageddon it xD

    ;)

  • thanks so much know i know how to play my mom's prom song. and she says thanks too:)

  • This was very helpful man! Thanks!

  • can u show the rest of i with the strumming parts too??

  • You are a great teacher and this video was much appreciated! Thanks!

  • I NEVER should have sold my seafoam green Tele now that I see yours...damn!! :-(

  • great video dude and a great help it was to me ,really easy to follow,i was playing it in 5 mins.THANX ALOT

  • omg i sold my guitar too soon :-( . i may of been able to follow this video N1 mate

  • @oddydoom3 buy another on ebay dude. i struggled a lot when learning and was a single mum with kids. Had to hock my guitar 3 or 4 times but always got it back first chance i had. you gotta keep at it and it really does get easier and more enjoyable. just learn songs you love!

  • will you also teach the sort of simple version of the intro you hear in the song with more distortion? which kicks in a few times

  • @1sainteve1 i ment the part when the guitarist plays the notes at the middle of the guitar neck

  • @SwordMoron

    Got it, now.

It's hard to hear what's going on in the mix during the chorus, but I've tabbed out the parts as best I could. There are 2 more guitars playing during the chorus.

You can see the tabs in an annotation as I play the chorus @ 5:40

    Hope this helps.

  • what is the strumming pattern for the chorus with the e minor, c and d chords?

    thanks

  • Comment removed

  • Cool lesson...I subscribed to your channel...Could you post another Def Leppard song? How about Animal...

  • That was really helpful....thanks

  • hi wat is the guitar tuned to

  • @nikolaishrederguy

Standard tuning (I'm slightly out of tune on the intro).

Before the lesson, I give an open 5th string if you want to tune to me.

  • TELECASTERS RULE!

  • good tutorial.

  • Thanks a ton man. Love this tune. You teach very well. Nice Fenders.

  • EXCELLENT, has taught me a lot in a very quick time, many thanks, keep up the good work

  • beautiful guitar and sounds! thank you for the lesson! keep it up :D

  • I have to honestly say that you are the best Instructor I have seen!!!! Thanks for this lesson!!! Would you be able to do "Comin' under fire" in the near future?

  • What effect are you using? Thanks for the lesson ;)

  • @DefLepp627

It's a POD XT with the "EJ Clean" (Eric Johson) preset. Basically, compressor and chorus.

  • Thanks, there is a definite shortage of lessons on such a timeless song.

  • great job - great tutorial, looks like a fun song to play.
