Leslie's tone is so good, just like BB King and SRV (and very few others), no matter what they play or how they play it, they sound better than all the rest.
I love how at 3:15 Leslie begins to walk away from the dude playing a solo and just starts the vocal again! Very funny. Must admit they did all sound very good together,

not at all... Leslie isnt about playing fast... he leaves that to the youngins. Sproul played a great solo. However when it comes to the thunder, only Leslie can do that. You can play Sproul note for note, but you just cant play West note for note. The tone is just too unique. Without that West tone, you just have bland rock... you sound like everybody else. Many can play faster than West, but NO ONE sounds better. Thats just my .02

As a long time follower of Leslie West, I can tell you Leslie is a master of improv. West never gets into a penis war on stage. That's what sets West apart. Leslie played around Sproul, which is Leslie's normal style. Leslie knows just how to MAKE you sound good on stage. Leslie was simply playing the power chords like only Leslie can... he didnt really solo, except the compressed star spangled banner ending.. which I really dont think Sproul, or could have made sound that good...
