It wasn't just to make history! Obama ran a better campaign that reached out to everyone. Not just the wealthy conservatives that are looking out for their wallets or their racial/religious beliefs and ambitions to keep someone "different" out of the oval office. People voted for Obama because it wasn't just giving a politician the power to make executive decisions, but to also give the people a better way to connect with the executive branch & to close the gap between government & the people.
