Mate, that is a NICE restoration...looks nice and fresh.....sounds it too. Did you restore it back original specs, or did you do little upgrades with later equipment in it?
@PCGAMEfreak: I like military aircrafts. Warbirds from WW2 are piece of art, no matter, if fighters or bombers. But my most favorite transport aircraft from this times is DC3. If you like warbirds from WW1, you should see my video, where I handstarting Sopwich S.E.5
From Vietnam war is my favorite this helicopter. She is pretty awesome.
@PCGAMEfreak Red Baron's plane was the Fokker DR1 Triplane. Not a good plane for inexperienced pilots, it probably killed as many German pilots as it did British or French pilots. For a WW1 fighter, I prefer the Fokker D7, so feared it's the only plane mentioned in the Treaty of Versailles.
either side the tailrotor is on, it still has to be shown some respect or you will be sorry... Bet General Paul Funk would be pleased to know a bird from the 1/9th Cav lift platoon is still turnin blades...
@Hugonorge08 Actually, No, since this Huey is an original Vietnam issue. Moving the tail rotor to the right side was only incorporated later after the war. Moving it to the right side was done to increase the effectiveness of it. If you look most original war Huey's, the tail rotors are all on the left side.
@Hugonorge08 .....think about it , if you put the tail rotor on the right side , your pushing the tail to the left instead of dragging it . (you need to push or drag the tail to the left because the main rotor is dragging it to the right) your tail rotors seem to want to touch any part of your tail and you don't want that right ?

This is outstanding! I am so happy that we in germany still have that beauty in active service. :) They are going to replayce her with the NH-90.... a bit like replacing the Dire Straits with N-Sync... Great job you guys did!
@TheDanrox110 The Army's official name for the UH-1 helicopter was the Iroquois. Huey was it's nickname, derived from the original designation of HU-1. "Dustoff" was/is a commonly used callsign for Med Evac helicopters. Not all Hueys were Dustoffs.
Most (but not all) Army helicopters are named after Native American tribes, i.e.
@1staircavalry yes it is retired from the military. It is now for search and rescue by a private search and rescue organization. The Indiana Air Search and Rescue
This is the finest helicopter at all. I could even fly several times as a passenger. In Germany only fly a few. Very nice work. Thank you for the fantastic video.
Awesome restoration and video! Congrats to all! Brings back the good ol' days when I was a kid watching them fly over the house. The sound of the rotors is music to our ears!
what is the song in the beginning>?
