Where your elbows go on the lift really is a personal preference my friend. One of the greatest bench pressers of all time (James Henderson) lifted with his elbows out (bodybuilding style) and he has the second biggest raw bench of all time.
Not to mention he was drug-tested and his 700+ lb bench was with a pause. Scott's 700+ lb bench was touch-and-go, so in my mind, James Henderson has the biggest raw comp. bench of all time.
