  • caffeine is just shit. after 1 week when your body gets used to it, your head hurts, itching everywhere, you get dizzy etc. THESE aspects ruins your workout. DONT Take CAFFEINE as a supplement...

  • @AsumDude94 caffeine does not make you itch. I think you're mistaking it for beta alanine. dizziness does not come with caffeine, it's more likely a flaw in your eating and drinking. If you take caffeine and your diet sucks, you were probably going to be dizzy anyway. Don't spread flawed information.

  • I can't take Caffeine, it causes me to have palpatations and makes me agitated, so no Coffee, Tea or Chocolates for me. For me just doing cardio gives me an upper, and in the gym i just stick my Hardstyle on, and i'm like a Grizzly on coke.

  • Maybe if you all just stopped undereating your carbs you would have enough glycogen to actually do a hard workout without stimulants. There is no reason to go to coffee. Get enough sleep, eat enough calories.

  • This is nonsense. Caffeine is and always has been a poison, ever since natural selection developed it in plants to kill or poison animals to prevent them from eating them. It even poisons the very plants that develop it, but the plants develop it anyway because it is less risky than being eaten. The best dose is and always has been 0.

  • Tried to do some research, i'm not completely sure but i think caffeine is kinda bad since it raises your cortisol levels. Cortisol is is the stress hormone that the body produces. it makes you fatter by increasing you sweet apetite and makes you accumulate fat easier. It also makes the body use up the protein and fat you intake to make glucose sinc you are under stress. I believe it also increases blood pressure and a whole lot other bad stuff. But with enough sleep and omega 3 maybe it's ok?

  • Really not trying to be mean at all Scooby, great video....but I myself would prefer you to use the term hypothesis instead of theory. A theory is widely regarded by many people to be true with research supporting it, while a hypothesis is an educated guess.

    Really just want to give some constructive criticism so you can make your videos better, not trying to be a douchebag at all. :)

Sorry, but I believe that in the beginning (cave man time lol) someone made up this stuff like math, languages, etc. and as the years passed, we all started to believe in this stuff. It's just what I think. And I have no idea how this relates to the video... lol. Good day sir. xD

I can't speak for professional scientists, but I can speak for the definition of the two words.   • I'm 155 pound male and I actually found that only half a 200 mg caffeine pill prior to my workout provided enough of a jolt.

All this time I've been avoiding caffeine as i read that it causes an increase in SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin) which binds to free testosterone making it unusable to the body! But I bow to your greater knowledge & will consider using it as a supplement to give me the push to workout harder in the gym! Quite possibly the harder workout from the caffeine stimulation would negate the effects of the lowered testosterone!! Thats if raised SHBG is even true!

  • After years of drinking sodas I had to get off of caffeine in 2010. It wasn't a medical thing. It was a choice I made. It was wrecking me. I had developed a dependence for it and it was severely screwing with my sleep after all these years. I tried to go cold turkey for five days in 2010 and had the most horrible headache I've ever experienced. It hurt so bad I vomited three times in one day. Finally got off of it and have been drinking decaff sodas since 2010.

  • Scooby, I am trying taking one 200 mg caffeine pill one hour before my workout. Anecdotally, it does seem like I have more energy to do the workouts, which is good. However, I have heard that caffeine (or coffee) is not the best for dieting because you get the caffeine rush but then there's the caffeine crash (I think from low blood sugar) which makes you hungrier, so the theory is that caffeine (or coffee) does not help in dieting. Your thoughts, Scooby?

  • @1AceGuy Anecdotally, so far, with the caffeine and working out, I haven't lost any weight yet. My weight is staying the same, not losing, not gaining, but just staying the same.

    My Trainer said I need to gain for weight since i only have 4% Body Fat. He told me to eat McDonald everyday to increase my weight. But I don't find that to be a smart idea since McD is high in calories but low in Nutrients.

    Can you suggest a good meal i can make at home with high calories and nutrients to gain weight?

I worked on my chest and then the next morning when i woke up, my chest hurt. Is that an bad thing or a good thing? That had been happening to me for the past week. everytime I wake up and my chest hurts, I don't lift on that day and i wait till my chest doesn't hurt again, then i work out but then the next morning again, its hurts! what do i do? thanks!

    Dude, that's called being sore. As long as you aren't feeling pain while doing the exercise (your body will tell you if it's the bad kind of pain), that's normal. Your body will get used to the soreness though. My chest rarely gets sore now, unless i add in new workouts.

  • Hi Scooby, I've been an avid runner for the last year or so, and I think it's great fun. However, ever since I started running, I've been getting increasing cramps in my calf and thighs. Could you perhaps make a video about potential stretches to avoid getting these cramps? Thanks so much.
