Akella just failed the story, the main idea and the battle system. And they left Mortis out of game. Mortis - most tragic and dark person in this game. What's wrong with this guys, it's like make a Starcraft 2 without protoss and Tassadar. What a FAGGOTS!

do not agree with ya... Disciples (Nevendaar's world) is gothic world, the graphics and direction of the art is gothic, thats what making Disciples different from HOM or KB. The atmosphere of gothic world and music with in. What about new battle system? well.. i think its giving to gamer even more options in the battle.However, need to point this as well, NOT with Artificial Intelligence, as it suck totally :)
..In D2 you could pick your own character hero and transfer him on throughout the campaign, however you can still make another hero and use hire Veteran option to have a alternate hero, but its a very exspensive option, then i miss D2 editor which yet hasent been made a english version of for english players in D3, that said i really enjoy the game alot, and still think its worth getting.
Dwarf and undead makes sense they not in atm, if you followed the D2 exspansion, Dwarves were weakened and retreated into deep mountain, and in D3 is only just resurfacing again now, Mortis Legion was defeated by the mountain clans after she decieved them. I think its all over nice changes in game, thou i will agree to game lost some replayability with the few maps you getting outside campaign on english version, also little sad you hero choice is limited..

The only thing I didn't like in disciples 2 was the fact that you could litterally storm your opponent's main hero with spells and thieves provided you had enough mana or money and him not being able to cast fog of war, all of the rest was pure genious.
@londerium Don´t do this, man. Seriously. Unless you find it for 3 bucks or something... Play Kings Bounty, instead... Or Heroes of Might and Magic. They killed the Disciples beauty, and did NOT reach the HOMM os KB style, just got lost somewhere in between.

This games terrible & buggy. Its like Heroes of might and magic 4 but w. 1/20 of the features of game development, 0 in-depth gameplay element. It has no multi-player and its so called RPG element GETS FUCKING RESET EVERY FUCKING CAMPAIGN. All your units you leveled all the main hero spells, all your non-main character heroes.. wiped every campaign lvl. It has two types of units for 3 factions. Ones that level and ones that are already strong and don't lvl. Took them 12 years to develop this...

Only 3 playable races? Heh always liked the dwarves and undead, hell I like all the races and their different playstyles. Hopefully they might make add in the lost races in a future expansion.

Undead was my favorite race in Disciples 2 :( i miss them. I havent tried this game yet but i will but the change of fighting scene is dissappointing. its like a heroes of might and magic 5 copy :(
- i have to agree with you. - graphically this game is beautiful, the sound and music is great too - but the combat system change was a let down. it makes gameplay a little slow, and for this turn based game i don't think it fits well. (not when the original system was so unique to the genre) also, i was hoping for a new unit structure/research tree - gameplay, i am finding it rather static, in that i don't see many enemy heroes creeping around the map(s)
I agree with you on the Heros V and Kings Bounty comment, the game is just blah. I also found that the movement on the map, when trying to move around the map was very slow and aggravating. It does one of those start out slow and speed up things which I loath and there is no way to adjust you scroll or mouse speeds.
The same thing was done with Fallout franchise. They just don't understand that if its not broken don't fix it. For me Disciples 2 was holy grail of TBS and even beyond. But what is done is done. I agree with most of you're comments, but i just wish they didn't made so many drastic changes at once. I almost got heart attack when i saw first preview of game.
A new take on heroes V is not a bad thing. Heroes V was a pretty version of Heroes 3 but lacked the soul of Heroes 3 (the greatest fantasy strategy game ever).
i think it requires more TRICKS.. like teleport from one point to another, setup an ambush area, siege or raid, setup a defensive fort inside a building or any terrain that can be fortified, setup a magic or natural traps during battle or not, units that can change their stance or can use unique abilities or skills or equipment, etc..
Wow, not bad for a review, mostly I agree with. The fighting system, copy clone of two games undermines what the genre was unique. Theres nothing wrong with the story(haven't played, yet), artwork is fantastic, and the music is beautiful. I think it will make sense to tweek the system back to D2 and make the AI smarter, much smarter, the rest of the game is fine. Perhaps they might do some changes for the Global version, who knows.
I dunno what they were thinking when they made the battle system like this.The rest of it is acceptable but most of the old fans look at this with bad eyes.
I played Heroes might magic V what i like about it is soo many races to choose. I'm playing King Bounty, what I like is well it just simple but beautiful. But when I look at D3 i thought @_@ :( Only 3 race!? is my big problem here, this is not right. Like other people said, they should had stayed same to D2 and improve just the graphic and music, that would be better.
I don't know if they sell in US but I don't think i buy it. Maybe download it or wait till price go down.
D2 always had a great art style, it probably would of cost too much to implement all 5 races. Even Heroes V has less races than Heroes 3, and the monsters in heroes V are not super complicated.

But all in all it is a fair game, but for me Disciples 2 still is better.
