@cael87 I dont like to do it unless I'm ahead... like after I kill their expo and don't want to risk going up the ramp, I use the contain like a killing blow. With equal footing, there are too many ways for protoss to abuse the fact that my army is not at my base. Splitting my army to deal with all scenarios will leave me weak at both fronts.
@BojaDrawing PvT is so easy for toss mid-late game, as mech isn't viable and bio melts to aoe (colossi, storms, etc). There is a window around 9-11minute mark though, where terran is strong and toss is weak. I think it's always correct to hit that timing as hard as possible (1-basing), then work off the results there. My TvZ and TvT are unique strategies, but are also typically long games.
@cirkic Before toss gets aoe, bio is pretty powerful. Although most 1-base terran openers prefer the 1/1/1 build for more high tech units in the 10min timing push. You can expo before you push too, so you aren't required to do crippling damage when you 10min push, but then your army will be that much weaker. Basically, you have to be ahead of toss going into the mid-game or you're in for a rough game.
@BFGfreak Well, the PF build gets me ahead vs aggression but behind vs a toss FE. Meta-game these days and lack of close spawns makes aggression (like 4gate) less common. But mostly I was sick of late-game battles. I felt like if i do everything perfect, I can slightly win a battle. If I do one thing wrong, my army just evaporates and the game is over. I already used the 10minute timing with my PF FE. Now I just commit everything to making the 10min push as powerful as possible.
@Ketroc21 Nice game. You could have pulled scvs from gas and have them distance mining, cause you didn't need it. What's the deal with masters, i've seen you a long time now between #1 and #3. What is the promotion procedure?
@sochaji Dunno. I'm currently #1 diamond and about 100points ahead of #2. I was #2 for a while cuz one other guy kept slightly ahead of me... he got promoted.
@CreizaiOne I get 1 blind ghost as it helps deal with sentry FF energy which can be a deterrent to timing push. It can also help vs immortals and emergency DT defense. At worst it does a nice burst of shield damage. Lately I've abandoned the 1ghost in favor of more bio and using kiting micro to stay out of bad force fields and medivacs to bypass FFs. Not sure which I like better.
