  • When I was listening to this for the first time, I didn't understand any German, and I thought "spring" meant the season XD So I thought it was something involving going from winter to spring. Ohhhh God, my face when I found out it was a song about being provoked to jump off a bridge. XD;

  • My favorite song.

  • „Какво направих?

    Исках само да видя гледката

    и да погледам вечерното небе,

    a те крещят - Скочи!".....

  • thats heavy..so heavy and i love it!!

  • you're right for using spring instead of jump

if they dont know the word; they should

we use it in dutch too

gut übersetzt schweizer ;) ne belgier

  • (rock) E това е! Само ние, изтрещелите метъли можем да изпраскаме такъв текст! СКАЧАЙ! (rock)

  • german is just not a sexy language its scary really

  • @madilizable IT IS SEXY! 0.0 Especially coming from Rammstein.

  • @madilizable

    HATER!

  • Oh, it's about suicide and our desire to watch violence. Sweeeeet.

  • 1 person is reatarded

  • *y u no* WHO THE FUCK CAN DISLIKE THIS EPIC SONG?!?!?!

  • @mArEtA1313 I think he had a friend who jumped!

  • Hmm, I appreciate the translation, but I really think it would have been better with jump instead of 'spring'. When people scream for someone to jump off of something, they would never say 'spring' in English. Aber diese ubersetzung gefahlt mir noch. Vielen Dank.

  • @Thatsinteresting

true, but the german nuance would get lost, if we'd say "jump". danke wenn es dir gefallt :)

  • @Thatsinteresting If I was telling someone to jump, I think i'd start singing this song, but yea I guess..

  • 1 person got kicked off a cliff.

  • CAYENSEEEE estupidos dejen escuchar la rola!

  • @chemo3030 CALLENSE con LL

  • I love this song, but now that I know it's about death or being , it makes me feel sad. I still love the song though!

  • SPRING = jump

  • Don't Understand German, But Love The Guitar!

  • sehr cooles Lied.!!!!!!!!!!!Awesome.

  • 1 person jumped off the bridge

  • spring = jump just for everyone who didnt understand that

  • PISS ON THE ONE PERSON WHO DIDN'T LIKE THIS SONG, this is one of my favorites

  • spring means "Jump" in German u idiots !!!

  • In German, "spring" means "jump"

  • I think this song has a powerful metaphor and it's not about death in general but for Jesus's sacrifice and the fact that people just wanted some1 to die for them and redeem them.

  • @gripmkd I think your a fucktard for thinking this song is about jesus.

  • @gripmkd

I dont know about that one....intresting theory though my friend .

  • JUMP, IS WHAT THEY ARE SAYING..IT JUST SOUNDED BETTER BEFORE I KNEW WHAT THEY WERE SAYING,, STILL A GOOD SONG.. BUT THIS GUY COULD SING MOTHER GOOSE RYMES AND MAKE IT SOUND GOOD

  • Rammstein owns!!!!!!

  • the atmosphere is simply EPIC!there are only few singers and few bands that can actually create the atmosphere so it would fit with the song and it would get the ones that listen into it

    epic shi7!

  • I thought it was about the season spring. But nope, it's about a dude jumping form a bridge, well atleast that's what people thought... Damn Til for kicking him.

  • spring means jump on germany.

  • i'm german, i know what most of rammstein's lyrics mean but i never could catch the idea of spring. but now i know.

  • Spring is jump

  • is song is very sad and very true.. people get excitiment out of death... do you have any idea how many people want another attack like 9/11 just solely cause theyre bored? it makes me sick!

  • dude get the fuck out of here. no1 cares what you have to say.. We only want to hear stuff about Rammstein..

  • Spring means jump, which isn't translated.

  • wow the lyrics to this song are so powerful, ive always liked this song but i now like it even more!

  • Disturbing, and sad :(

  • So eine mächtige Band!

  • Rammstein ist zuruck!!!!

  • This is really deep and almost eerie. A man about to commit suicide and the crowd below full of hate for him. Its a creepy thing, if you can picture it in the same setting at the album cover.

  • More of an exploration in to the realms of human blood-lust.

  • ok I get it's saying the crowd begins to scream jump. right?

  • :| i listen to this song. right b4 fights. it gets me pumped.

  • why dont they play this song live. that would be fuckin awsome

  • well me as german say its about death but it has kinda both its a suicide song and this could be a comment how people expect you to do it and wouldnt stop bogging you until you do it like they seriously want to see you do what you said.....but thats me personal interpretation

  • that is exactly what it means :)

  • @thomasmm1988 i believe its about human nature to expect the worst and for humans to want the bad things to happen

  • @thomasmm1988 das tut dir gut that u apprectiate rammstein......cuz i kno sum of there songz are banned n de deutsch....... :( ich tut dir weh to see there songz banned from de deutsch....well datz just me...

  • @thomasmm1988 I think it's about how people's suffering has become something for people to watch and enjoy on TV, but never experience for themself...

  • It Is about suicide. I lived in Germany for 6 yrs. and am an avid German speaker.

  • man this is f***ed this song is about suicide if you don't agree with me learn some german first and read the lyrics

  • It's about how normal people want to see bloodshed. Really sort of a banality of evil thing.

  • im starting to learn german....well not really just easy german words and im an canadian

and if i here rammstein's song i know what it means but i cant under stand it

u know umm...like....umm...i just dont understand it...but i know what it means.

and i speak two language english and oji cree:)

  • yea spring is jump lol

  • i thought Spring meant run(Im not german,i dont know)

  • Laufen is to run

    Spring is the command Jump

    Springen is to jump

  • What's the difference between "Laufen" and "Rennen"?

  • Laufen means to ambulate using your legs.

It can be used for walking slowly - not just fast.

Rennen - is always fast - it also mean more like a race - even an automobile race. A running race can be referred to as a Wettlauf - basically a contested run.

In short, there is not an easy answer. If you say schnell laufen - for running - that will always be understood.

Context, experience, and sometimes just a matter of style and a little research and speaking with native Germans goes a long way.

  • Realize its been 4 months, but good stuff Sam. Thanks for clarifying that.

  • it makes sense that Spring would mean jump

  • yea, I bet they really do yell "spring" lol.

  • Writing spring in the translation is confusing. People might actually think that he is saying spring, as in the season. Spring = Jump in German - just to make things clear

  • jasný no v češtině je prostě jump i sprink - hop :D:D lolec :D

  • "spring" can be confused with the season in english.

In German "spring" only means "jump"

  • spring is jump in the imperative, from the verb springen.

  • If you saw someone who was going to jump off of a bridge and you were trying to egg him on would you honestly say spring? No, you'd say jump. Just like in the song.

  • I think jump sounds better because the rest was translated. A very disturbed song though, and thats why I love Rammstein.

  • i dont care i think it was translated jus fine and the song is a beutiful one. and i think it deserves the respect its owed, not a bunch of people arguing over its tranlation :P

  • Jump woulda been ok cause there talking about him jumpin off a bridge to kill himself

  • wow really nice song

    rammstein is the best

  • Jump would have fit well in the text ;)

  • I guess most people that are not native to english may find "spring" irritant, because first thing you learn in english lessons is that "spring" means "Frühling" in english and is never to be used in the jump-sense since it's a false friend. It's always hard to look over the rim of the teacup ^^

Anyway... I'm german and I appreciate your great job. Imho it's very important that people get to know what they are listening to.

  • thx;

Imho it's very important that people get to know what they are listening to. [/quote]

    my word

  • Besides your not Rammstein, they wrote it that way for a reason! so who are you to say it sound's terrible!! disrespectful Americans!! god!

  • hiho;

    first, I'm not american.

and ... yeah, if you don't like it, then go away, there are lots of other Spring-Videos :D

  • fuckin' A, so it's true, most germans don't like america, well let me tell you all something, not all americans are the same, we have more diversity than any other place so isn't logical to create a stereo type with such diversity

  • yea... they are. for the most part.

  • @disposedsoul And you're not disrespectful in saying that? Fuck you sir. I'm American and proud of it.

  • I disagree!! Just because Jump "doesn't sound good" isn't a reason to change it! That is the translation so you should translate it right! People like you piss me off, lazy Americans!!

"it's doesn't sound good!" That's not the point! That's how the language is and that is how it is spoken!! Translate right or not at all!!!

  • Das wort 'Spring' im english ist 'Jump'!

  • ich finds cool wie dumb die Leute immer weider dasselbe schreiben, ob wohl in der Info explizit steht, warum wir es so gemacht haben :D

  • ;) Nice one, thumbs down are amazing.. I read the description, fucktards.

  • By the way..It's quite not pretty

  • What the fuck? Why is everything in English but not Spring? It's Jump.

  • Great song.

The second biggest lie since the beginning of the human existence?

    Landing on the moon!

  • wouldn't a better word in english for spring would also be Jump?

  • i agree that is the translation, spring is jump in german! wtf??!!??

  • till lindemann is such a talented lyricist...one of my fave songs

  • In this song, The man truly just wanted to see the view, to see the beautiful sky, and all of the people nearby are so eager to see a death, that they instantly crowd around and tell him to jump. This, in my opinion, could happen in any large, industrialized nation, be it Germany, America, Russia, China, Japan, Great Britain, etc... How people are ALWAYS interested in the sad, horrible stories on the news. Most of us all say "how horrible", or "so sad", but inside we love to see those stories.

  • it doesnt matter what sprig means.why dont u enjoy the song

  • spring = jump but i guess it really doesn't matter that much, thanks for putting this up, somehow i knew this song was about suicide jumpers

  • spring...en deutch-german...means JUMP...LOL...

JUMP 4 ME MAKES MORE SENSE...LOL...its a simple mistake that can be vixed... ^_^

    thanks though...4 da rest...

  • amaizin'

  • spring,in german means jump.not spring

  • no....

the song is about how people want to see people at their lowest to feel better about themselves

  • This song could also be about God, how people wonder if he's real or not, if you pay closely to the lyrics.

  • how? how could this be related to God in any way, even remotely?

  • Well, lots of Rammstein have some christian, refrence this one is no different, like how people wnt to know if God is real since he never shows himself, hence the lines "spring for me" "spring intto the light" as if they just want god to "spring" into the light, you get me?

  • well, yeah, I see what you're saying, but the ppl in the song are obviously telling the man to jump, although I'm not sure what "the light" means in this song, so idk.

  • Yeah they want god to jump into the light and proove to everybody that he's real.

  • maybe that's why Till says "Redeem me", so that God can show himself and redeem Till from Atheism? Maybe, idk lol

  • in the translated lyrics, Akira0ws is writing "spring" when till sings "spring", so that would mean he is talking about the season in english. the translated lyrics on the vid should be "jump" not "spring"

  • rammstein ist toll

Btw im english i learn't german in school XD

Not much but still friking awesome RIGHTOUS

  • doesnt "spring" mean 'jump' in german? not "spring"?

  • jo

spring is the german word for "jump"

    spring in german ist "Frühling"

  • im a bit confused by your post... are you agreeing with me?

  • the german word "spring!" means in english "jump"

the english word "spring" ( the season) means in german "frühling"

  • lol

  • the lyrics are good. cept spring is more translated into jump than spring. but thats just a technicallity. other than that its a pretty good vid

  • does this song have something to do with Till being an atheist? O_o

  • no, why you think?

He kicks sometimes people from any bridges xD

All of the lyrics of rammstein are very especially ... necrophily, dead, sodomy and so on. Don't worry ^^

  • well at first i thought the bridge was heaven ^^; my bad

  • my mother is german, and i don't know pretty much german. at 1st tought i was thinking of spring as a season, the song was quite calm, but now i realise it's even a greater song than i tought it. the lyrics are simply the best.

  • huh, but lots of people don't know the lyrics in english.

Spring doesn't exist in a english version ôo

  • i thought the song was going to be in english

i alredy know the english lyrics

    oh well

  • miss out it -> miss it out

    SPRING = JUMP

Hab den Rest nicht angeguckt, nur angehört xD

    Aber gj ^^

    _Void_

  • thy btw

    from me n lp ^^

  • very good job =D
