i watched this movie last night on turner classic movies ..and since i have seen it a few times it always makes me cry and shows what happens when we do finally grow up and how hard life can be at times,,classic movie and nice video,
Oh, my. How tearfully beautiful. Little Claude Jarman and that fawn are too sweet for words. Jarman's expressions just break your heart! It's truely a shame he doesn't act more now.
What a beautiful posting! Claude Jarman Jr has always been one of my favourite child actors - I just adore him. To watch this footage from The Yearling along with the soothing Beach Boys song in the background, brings tears to my eyes. I was so sad when I discovered this little boy died so young. Thank you 100 times over for taking me back to this heartwarming film of The Yearling.
This is one of the sweetest postings I have ever seen. The Pairing of This wonderful video with such a timeless classic by Brian Wilson is fantastic. Thank you so much for the posting.
This movie was awful. A film about two idiot parents who won't let their kid have a deer, breaking his heart forever. Oh yeah, splendid entertainment.
Claude Harmon Jr won a special Oscar for playing Jody in The Yearling, and he deserved it. In my opinion, one of the all-time great child actor performances.
Good video. Very sweet. Don't anyone misunderstand me if they are reading my comments agin. I just have a really big heart. better than no heart at all.
Honestly, "The Warmth of the Sun" is one of the most beautiful Beach Boys songs I know, and, although it's been ages since I've seen "The Yearling", I have fond memories of it. The combination of the two is simply magical! Kudos!
You probably know this already but Brian Wilson wrote The Warmth of the Sun on the evening of JFKs death in '63. You can almost touch the sense of loss within it.
Mustafa- I'm surprised that you could be so sentimental! Beautiful - I loved the movie when I was a kid-it made me cry. Even as an adult! Thanks for sending it!

My apologies - BIG Mistake. Claude Jarman Jr is still alive. I was thinking of Brandon DeWilde! He died when he was around 30.
Sorry everyone!
