  • Wooow. I remember watching this movie as a kid. Didn't she turn into a girl in the end?

  • I actually met the writer of the movie screenplay and novel a few years back. Peter S.Beagle the writer is an excellent songwriter and as a writer has a great imagination. And I can say he's a wonderful man to chat with,

  • The Lord of Darkness wants every copy of this movie destroyed!

  • I remember reading this book in my second grade class; I found it somewhere and started reading it because it had a unicorn on it.... When I saw the movie the nostalgia was overwhelming.

  • I remember seeing this movie a few years back, didnt quite understand it, probally cause this wasnt a childrens fantasy, certainly not child approprate too, that harpy....

  • This is a my little pony rip off.

  • @Mybuddhakitty- Actually, My Little Pony is a rip off of the Last Unicorn. This movie is based off a book that was written in the 1960's. My Little Pony, I believe, is from the 1980's.

  • Is this the one where the unicorn turns into a girl? If so then I remember this movie and LOVED IT!

  • @TatortotLuvsYou That's the one^^

  • @Mantaur104 YAYYYY! SO HAPPY NOW!

  • 1:33 ITS THE LAST UNICORNNNNN

    horrible trailer AMAZING movie

  • @beaglebuddy100 That was the best part of the trailer XDDD. Randomly cuts from - dramatic music...'the Last Unicoooooooooorn'...dramatic music... LOL

  • Nostalgia!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVED this movie when i was younger, but now im older and im like WTF is so great about it... it kinda sucks

  • ... -.-

  • i love this movie so much! but really, it's not a movie for children. it's much too deep and complex for someone so young to understand.

  • Never saw it or heard of it.

  • my childhood :')

  • I saw this as a kid and I was like OoO

  • Wow I saw this as a kid and I was like OoO

  • I went to my firends today and she showed me this movie and I loved it!!

  • Greatest movie, worst trailer.

  • I can probably credit this film with getting me into fantasy as a kid.

    I've loved it ever since.

  • that tree looks like a wanker

  • This film used to scare the hell out of me when I was little

  • I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!

  • One of my favorite animated non-disney films of all time!

  • jeff b?

  • the skeleton drinking wine

    the prince failing at poems

    shcmendrick's fails

    i love it all

  • Have you tried the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfumes? They have Last Unicorn themed scents. Pretty cool.

  • its the last unicoooooorn xD lmao

  • so.... yeah worth watching or no?

  • @takashi04 yes! omg! one of my fave movies ever!!

  • wtf i think i just lost half my brain cells after watching this crap

  • @MrJahred123456 It's ok...you still have 1 left.

  • @ravager48 .... i said half not all but one

  • I remember watching it as a kid and as years passed I forgot it even existed. Long story short, after a conversation with a friend about how children's films back then were better than ones today after I saw Secret of NIHM, one look at Amalthea and a question and remembering it became equaled a quickening from the Highlander.

Watching it again as an adult, it made more sense and it became a huge eye opener on my life (I am not joking). I defend and praise this film as much as Secret of NIMH

  • Awesomeness.

  • What a manly butterfly.

  • Oh hai, i'm the Red Bull. I'm just gonna give you nightmares for the rest of your life.

  • I remember loving this one movie about a unicorn when I was little but I don't think it was this. All I remember was the unicorn's name was Sunstar, because I got a stuffed animal unicorn and named it after her :) I'm still desperately trying to find the name of the movie though....

  • @DrSamanthasaurus

You might be meaning Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders. It was a cartoon series from 1995. I'm not sure if they had a movie, but there's a white unicorn named SunStar in the show.

  • @MasterManto Yeah I looked it up and I found it :D

    I loved that show xD

  • @DrSamanthasaurus Maybe you're thinking of a 'My Little Pony' movie? I know we all think MLP is retarded, NOW, but as a kid I loved up the magical flying ponies :D

  • @TheHPrincess Hahaha maybe

  • For a kids movie... this shit was intense.

  • I was 2 when I seen this in the theater.... the only memory of when I was that young..... what a great memory of family time!!!!

  • I love horses.

    I love unicorns.

    I love animals.

    I love the life.

    ♥

  • I didn't see this film until I was a teenager- but I remember it distinctly as being instantly nostalgic. Such is the true magic of this film.

  • Oh now I get it red bull XD

  • Lame

  • i love unicorns...so i cryed during this movie...why does she have to be the last unicorn!!!!!! :) Unicorns rock my socks, as well as rainicorns.

  • "The legend will live forever." You bet it will! <3

  • the last unicorn was legit

  • @spiritwolf1112 Actually the book was written about 19 years before the drink and the movie came out about five years before the drink.

  • with the music.. OF AMERICA

  • This was a crazy movie to watch as a little kid.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

  • dude, they used godzilla's roar for the dragon

  • FUCKING GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME.

  • @WhiteNBlackButterfly like for real reals? not for play play?

  • this movie scared the sht out of me, yet I watched it every day.

  • @0on0o Same here! Well it din't scare me THAT much... only a little... OK OK maybe a lot...

  • honestly one of the scariest movies in the world

  • I grew up with this movie since i was 4 and one of my childhood faves along with Warriors of the Wind, Secret of NIMH, Dark Crystal, Star Wars, Pinocchio and more. Who else remembers Warriors of the Wind? the 1985 american butchered dub of Nausicaa, that was my favorite animated movie growing up as a kid since i was 4 and loved it so much i had my parents buy it for me on my 5th birthday and even made another copy by taping it off HBO and buying a third copy at age 10.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Nice

  • I hate to say it, but they did not know how to make trailers back then. xD

  • Is Godzilla in this movie?

  • @aztekarrow - lol Me don't think so. xD

  • anybody else notice the dragon at 0:29 has the exact same roar as godzilla in the old movies?

  • @Darkzey haha same so i hated that i couldn't watch it because i was too scared :P

  • i can't believe i could watch this so obsessively as a child - i'm scared watching it now!

  • omg Godzilla sound @ 00:28

  • I was freakin terrified of this movie as a child!!

  • @angelgirlshanna so was my wife as she just told me =P

  • does anybody knows where can i find and watch this movie ?

  • "and, the music of america" ahahaha so cheesy.

  • it was kinda epic until it was like "FEATURING THE MUSIC OF AMERICA: 'it's that laast Unicoooooorn!'"

    and it was all cheesy?

    yeah

    I lol'd.

  • i love the song by KENNY LOGGINS, he wrote the song too. Beautiful story

  • the unicorn said "i was just wondering if you have seen other unicorns like me, i think im the last of my kind" .."yeah theyre called horses and stop being such a picky whiny little bitch!"

  • I'm so glad this movie got a Blu-Ray release, it looks great!

The old DVD I had looked like it was copied from a worn out VHS and only had a censored audio track. I will do a review video of the Blu-Ray release as soon as I can. :)

  • Thumbs up if you watched this because you read something about it on MLIA (My LIfe Is Average.com) or Facebook <3

  • I remember this! My sister used to want to borrow it from the library all the time lol

  • Lol at all the voice clips of all these great British voice actors, followed by this distracting horrible piece of music by "America".

  • it's been so long since i watched this

i really wish i didn't lose the dvd

it's such a great movie and story

  • This movie is the shit

  • Oh I LOVE it! A masterpice in a dvd/video.

  • Such a childhood film. I still love it. Such a wonderful tale. The music is amazing too. A must see right away!!!!!!

  • This movie was made in 1982 I think. I had it on video! (I'm so old!) Gonna buy it off Amazon next week lol

  • i loved this movie... how i loved the drunk sceleton and the unicorn

  • when was this made?

  • i loved this movie as a kid the songs the unicorns the parts tht scared me hahaha XD i am currently reading the book and i love it and i plan on buying the dvd and i am obsessed with the song the last unicorn hahaha

  • This film was my childhood, I adored it

  • This movie used to kind of scare me as a kid.

  • The unicorn sounds like drew barrymorre

  • This used to be my favorite movie when I was younger. There was just something about it that I loved! And watching this trailer brings back so many memories. :)

That fire bull used to scare me though :S lol

  • give me....the.....MOVIE!!!

  • This looked weird. :/

  • Is it just me or does the unicorn sound almost like she-ra?

  • I loved this movie as a kid! I just saw it for sale in a store and I felt compelled to watch the trailer. This movie and The NeverEnding Story are two of my favorite children's movies that I remember watching over and over. (Can you also count Star Wars and Jurassic Park as kids films? Haha.)

  • @Nightbird87 Last Unicorn and Neverending Story aren't just meant for kids. They are timeless fantasies meant for every age. Secret of NIMH, Krull, The Dark Cyrstal, Labyrinth, Willow, The Hobbit ,The Lord of the Rings, Wizards, Fire and Ice, Heavy Metal, Light Years, Starchaser: The Legend of Orin, Fantastic Planet, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Mulan and Atlantis: The Lost Empire are all great as well.

  • @TheAltair4

Don't forget there's also Legend, The Princess Bride, Flight of Dragons, Harry Potter, My Neighbor Totoro, Wizard of Oz, willy Wonka, Return to Oz, Nightmare Before christmas, Beetlejuice, etc. are great examples of good fantasies for every age. Gotta love Lady Amalthea.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Lady Amalthea is my girl right along with Taarna. Alice in Wonderland, The Witches, James and the Giant Peach,The B.F.G., Edward Scissorhands, Rock&Rule etc. are all great as well.

  • @TheAltair4 if something is rated g or pg everyone thinks its just for kids....

now i want to see all those movies again...

  • @clopidy I know right? And only in the 80's would you hear the f-bomb dropped in a PG rated movie (Beetlejuice). lol

  • @TheAltair4

Don't forget Critters 2 was PG-13 rated by mistake and had gore including a scene where that bounty hunter turned into a hot nude blonde chick that we both adore.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Ah, yes! Who could forget that? That really was a ratings mistake, wasn't it? lol

  • @TheAltair4

Spaceballs was rated PG and had the f bomb in it with other profanities instead of PG-13.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, i know. I saw Spaceballs in theaters as a kid.

  • @TheAltair4

Me too, SB rules! Do you think Ian Mckellen would make a good live-action King Haggard or Robert Englund? there was a planned live-action adaptation of the novel in 2002 but never got made, maybe they should do it to capitalize on Harry Potter and LOTR's successes. Robbie Coltrane should be the cat's voice don't you think?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, or Christopher Lee himself could even play King Haggard in the live action version. Robbie Coltrane would be a good choice for the cat too.

  • @TheAltair4

And who knew The Dude was the voice of Prince Lir

  • @Johnlindsey289 Who knew indeed! lol. Yeah, Jeff Bridges is awesome.

  • I love this movie...when I was a little girl I certainly knew there was something "off" about it...then watched as a young adult. Made so much more sense!! I love the little homage to Alice in Wonderland (Schmendrick riddling Ruhk, Why is a raven like a writing desk?)

  • love the godzilla voice for the dragon

  • They need to make more dark cartoons like this. Children should know there isn't good in everyone.

  • This movie scared the shit out me as a child.

  • hey i wornder if this movie

    is made by Disney

if it is let me know =]

    I<3 unicorns

  • @Jdisney1000

sadly no this isnt a disney movie...

  • @Dreamer8408 why is that so sad?

  • My Mom tried using this movie to reasure my 5 year old self that cartoons were still fun after I was scared by Charolette's Web...it's a miracle I ever watched cartoons again. I do love this movie as an adult though.

  • did any one notice that the dragon had the exact same roar as Godzilla ?

  • Nooo last unicorn! I will steal youuu!! >.< :'( You're not thee last!:O

  • 80s movies were so great in terms of special effects

  • Am I the only one who finds that narrator's voice really creepy?

  • @Yamagoochie The narrator is the late voice over guy for ABC: Ernie Anderson. He also was a horror movie host under the name Ghoulardi.

  • @Yamagoochie I actually think the drawings are pretty creepy.

  • @Yamagoochie No!! UR not the only 1!

  • my fave movie EVER.

  • *bird

  • I love this movie but that brid scared the hell out of me

  • They should remake this film, but with real people. Ben Stiller can play Shmendrik, Jim Carey can do the voice of the skeleton, Chistopher Lee can be King Haggard, Hayden Christensen can Prince Lir, Nicole Kidman can play the Lady Amalthea,

  • this film really scared me when i was little! the red bull really freaked me out.....but i still just had to watch it! :D

  • good olr times <3

  • havent seeen this in forever

  • This movie is stupid I remember watching it made no freaking sense

  • Omg i watched this movie when i was little and i never got tired of it :,) brings back a ton of memories

  • they sound soo bored

  • I remember watching this movie in school when I was a little girl.

  • Every little girl should see this movie!! I love it!

  • please can someone upload the full movie of 'The Little Unicorn (1998) film' thanks, not this cartoon but the film with 'George Hamilton' from casper meets wendy

  • I used to love this movie when I was a kid but seeing this trailer I'd forgotten how demented it was. I remember that weird tree lady scared me, probably (it's been so lon), more than her also.

  • I only found out today (through Wikipedia) that the studio that animated this movie went on to form Studio Ghibli. It's a small world.

  • For some odd reason I remember this movie. I want to see it again. It looks so good.

  • The 80's best kid movies an American tail the secrets of NIMH the last unicorn and dark crystal and the never ending story but as kid all those movies scared the shit out of me even ferngully

  • when i was little, this move scared me and gave me nightmares

  • @ilovenature66 me too!

  • And the music of America..."It's the LAST UNICORN!"

  • hellz yes. my childhood.

  • 0.30...godzilla??^^

  • one of my favs movies of childhood...

got fined by blockbuster because I kept it a week....

  • this was my favorite movie 30 yrs ago!!!! ah. . .childhood.

    wicked awesome!

  • my god..so fucking kick ass

  • Although I'm generally not very fond of America's music......the theme song they did for this movie is actually quite beautiful. It sets the stage for the melancholy air of the story.

....speaking of which, I highly reccomend the original novel by Peter S. Beagle. The film is virtually a perfect adaptation, but Beagle's prose is sublime.

Great film, great novel, great storytelling.

  • LOL King HAGGARD!?! :'D holy shit. if anyone knows bam margera and knows what haggard means please thumbs up

  • omg i member this
