  • what are they in a paladian

  • @cedars30 Yes, M109A6

  • swabbing powerder chamber 3 to 4 times to forcing cone.. bore clear.. maybe?

  • and 7 mins to fire 8 rounds? damn.. im down to 20-25 sec a round.. 27 for high angles lol.

  • wow.. where is your glove on your hand.. eyepro? load at lay postition? chief ate up or what. gunner not calling lay light lit, no warning messages verify? 1l is lame.. but i know precautions are critical. you prime after gunner verifies no warning messages. make a fist and ram that damn round like you mad at the dude fucking your woman when your over seas. i hand ram every round manually.. its faster btw.. imo. lots of bad stuff here... any future bravos should not study this vid LOL

  • @imgoodalaska the right hand glove gets in the way

  • B 2/5!!!!!! Rock Hard! I miss those days.

  • Man I miss this B-Btry 127 F.A. /161 F.A. Retired

  • Dear Fellow Gun-bunnies: I was with the 6thBattalion/32nd Artillery Group "Proud Americans" in a place called Viet-Nam in 1969. I was an NCO candidate at Ft. Sill for 4 months. I was trained on the 105mm, 155mm, 175mm AND the 8" guns. In Viet-Nam, our fire missions were every day! sometimes 2 or 3 times. Wet,rain, heat, fog, mud everywhere, hard to climb on the gun to shoot, sometimes NO pnuematics to push the shell in the breech. We did it with a pole. It took about 1 minute to fir an 8'' round.

  • Correct me if im wrong, but arent you suppose to push the shell in with your FIST.. and not with your fingers around the edges... that way you can keep you fingers..... Common im not in the military but even i know this...

They should shoot the idiot who taught you people

  • Love this video. I went from active duty into the national guard FA. We had the Paladins and were damn good at it. But, the state in an effort to save money, decided to transition us into an infantry unit. Man, drill and deployments suck now. I really miss the king of battle, at least we got to blow shit up!!

  • My gun when I #1 manned was bucking rounds every 8 seconds. Of course without the swab. I love watching these videos, makes me miss those good ole' days.

"WHITE WITNESS MARKS ARE ALIGNED! PERMISSION TO PRIME? PERMISSION TO HOOK UP? PERMISSION TO FIRE?!?!"

  • Nice job fellas. This was one of the times I hated being a Platoon Leader. I got to sit in the Humvee and watch while you guys had all the fun. Keep up the fine work guys.

  • how can even 1 man not like this vid

  • Comment removed

  • yes it's time for a 2011 update

  • @hotrod4you2 new videos are on my page. thanks for watching

  • @hotrod4you2 , not bad for a first fire mission. I was with 3/16 fa 4id at hood and I can tell you my first shoot wasn't pretty either. The longer the crew is together the faster your rate of fire will increase. My advice would be to you is to spend as much time in the gym as you can so you won't have those "shaky" moments at the end of a long mission I promise it will help. Good luck and thanks for serving our nation.

  • I was just breaking some balls. Yes I am FA and was a number 1 man for over three years. He has the procedure down! his speed will increase. just dont let him start finger popping!!!! Lol just kidding chief. teach him those short cuts but keep him safe. great job troopers and KEEP UP THE FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn this crew shoots slow and that number 1 man never swabbed till after the last round, not very safe but they were effective

  • @bigfritz11 this was a all new crew and the number 1 mans first time ever doing it besides basic. speed comes with practice and experience. not sure if you are FA but if you are than you should know that. not trying to start a fight or anything but get tired of people who have never shot a howitzer or even served criticizing the guys that do the job. most crews do not swab after each round unless the tube is hot. it takes up too much time. I am now a chief. Ill post vid of my crew shooting fast

  • cheers to the #1 man and section chief, that was some steel rain!

  • great job guys i support all of our military whether a drill or in action keep it up

  • Talk about a blast from the past..I recognized that crew!!!! You guys rocked that missio!!

  • @trooper tell em REDLEG...... thats how its done

  • The last thing you want to hear in this M.O.S. is: "Rear of the peace, face the peace fall in!"

  • @155Millimeter That or "repeat, over"

  • @155Millimeter That, or "repeat, over" on a mission like that one...

  • Ah, the old faithful sunflower seeds. Nothing has changed in twenty years.

  • do you get to use the Paladin during 13 Bravo AIT? i hope it's not just and NCO or Specialists' job haha.

  • @darklion53 When you go to basic AIT you will be assigned to an artillery gun that you will more than likely be shooting at the post you will be assigned to. Could be the paladin, the triple 7 ect

  • @trooper1822 to graduate AIT a requirement is to fire 4 rounds on your assigned gun. Yes you do get to use thepaladin, thats the gun i was assigned to shes a beautiful beautiful gun lol

  • @killa61890 yes I know this lol trust me been doing this a almost 7 years now. Like said before more than likely they will pair you up with the piece that you will be shooting at you assigned battery. And you will not always get to use the m109a6. I get soldiers in my section right out of ait that have never set foot inside the gun before.

  • @killa61890 yeah, until you go to the wash station and have to crawl under the pally to clean mud from the roadwheels.

  • Did those charges ever catch fire? My gunner used them in Fort Polk every time the breach opened there would be pieces of plastic burning inside smoke the whole interior. Oh well it added to the madness.

  • @xGUNxBUNNYx

LOL! That's because they missed a step! "Swabbing three to four times to the forcing cone, and optuator spindle group! BORE CLEAR!"

  • REDLEG!!!! 3/11 th ACR '84-'86....M109A2

  • We rarely used the autoloader and would ram the rounds manually, one of my best crews we were all certified to lay and fire that weapon.Steel on target. Miss the smell of rounds going down range.

  • @TheRedLegRanger

    LOL!

    I agree!

Smell of rounds going down range= Wolf pussy! LOLOLOLOL!

  • not bad, young grasshopper. I just left A-2/5 not too long ago. still rock my 214 patch from time to time but I was with them before the switch. 212 Baby! Nice fire mission though.

  • pull string....gun go boom! sooo cool.

  • This is what my baby does in the ARMY!!!

  • @vanshadow63

Baby? What are you talking about you have to be atleast 17 to be in the military. Oh wait took me a while to get that I'm a Red Leg after all! lol

  • It may be our be just our battalion sop I believe with those charges your not supposed to use less than 3. I remember that cause fdc was having hella time calculating the high angle missions. Also lima is a sop thing not actual charge name. Worked with three different fdcs and one had them listed lima, other alpha, and last charlie. So it just whatever your sop is.

  • The smell of "WOLF PUSSY" in the morning. Im a 13Banger and the #1 man of my gun. Its an adrenaline rush sending rounds down range.

  • waiting is the hardest part

  • Good job chief. To the number one man, you are supposed to swab after every round. however, good job. To the gunner, excellent! However, the chief is the one who gives the pemission to prime. Overall, outstanding fucken job guys! Im an argtillery man myself. Glad to see that the trend as well as the tradition still lives on. HOOAH!

  • AAHHHHHHHHHH!!! The smell of muzzle blast in the morning. It has been over 25 years since I was at Ft. Sill. I was on 109/A3. Thanks for the memories. Great video guys. Thanks for your service.

  • yea the reason we were going slow was because we were being evaluated during section cert. were not going for time. If our evaluator was not in the gun we would have been going a hell of a lot faster. we had just gotten back from iraq and it was a brand new crew. im the gunner in the video not the number one man.

  • ahh 13bravo gun bunny those days are long behind me

  • just to give some insight on the m109a6, this gun has a 4 man crew. you have the driver, the number 1 man who loads the round, the gunner who puts the powder in (thats me) and the chief of the section.

  • @trooper1822 tak about a blast from the past..I thought i recognied that crew and I was right!!!!

  • the book says that we are suppost to swab the tube after every round but in reality this is rairely done. the point of swabing the tube is to make sure that there are no burning peaces of the powder bag still in the tube and to cool the tube a little.but normally on a multi-round fire mission like this one we swab the tube at the end of the fire mission

  • when do they swab the tube

  • Amazing

  • "Fire Mission"

I love the smell of those fresh baked lil' green bags...Thanks for sharing Red Legs........

  • @xdef66

Smell of fresh baked lil' green bags= wolf pussy! LOL!

  • Great video...HOOAH soldier..!!
