Is Water Boarding torture? Yes, it is a method of torture there is no doubt the real question that should be asked is if water boarding is effective. Once again the answer is absolutely effective. While President Obama claims to be against this method of torture, he actulaly allowed it to be used in order to get information on the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden. Is Water Boarding torture? Yes, it is a method of torture there is no doubt the real question that should be asked is if water boarding is effective. Once again the answer is absolutely effective. While President Obama claims to be against this method of torture, he actulaly allowed it to be used in order to get information on the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden. Then again terrorist organizations capture and decapitate innocent people. This is a form of torture but it is also a neccesary evil.

But there is a difference between sleep deprivation, loud music, food deprivation etc. to pulling out fingernails and electrocuting testicles. Heck, most soldiers go through training that fits the United Nations definitions of torture. The US will continue to be attacked whilst it maintains the aggressive policies that have it invading and then squatting in countries under the pretence of protecting it's own national security.
Commiting these acts of torture against foreign nationals for whatever reason will only perpetuate a hatred toward the United States and will lead to a higher risk of a repeat attacks.
The US needs to open dialogues with these other nations, and yes, come to a compromise.

If a few terrorists have to be water-boarded so that the brave men in our intelligence community can get the answers that will help them prevent another 9/11, then yes I am all for it. And so would you be if you lost a loved one in a senseless attack. Our gov's. job 1st and foremost is to protect our country, but they have really dropped the ball lately, and I suspect they will drop it all together with this new administration.
